I've reached out to the SuperSEGA team and have invited them to a Live Q&A Steam. They have ageed to it.
Hopefully we can work out a time and platform to do this on.
Let's see how it goes.
I would love to believe is true, but this kind of sound bugs, sound like software emulation. So i think what they have is a Ui that load emulators (probably created by them) no fpga implementation so far.
Beat me to it. I can’t even imagine the amount of work involved with creating a true hardware replication of a Dreamcast in FPGA. It would be MUCH easier to port an emulator, which is what I’m assuming they’re doing. It may work, and it may be better than nothing, but it’s not what MiSTer fans are used to and may leave many disappointed.
Fair point, to be fair.
Its nice to see a video, and IMO I like seeing things wrong with the sound. Seems at least like they are working on it hopefully or at least maybe working on porting a core. If its real work time will tell. But its nice to see something hopefully they stay public facing with whats going on.
@@techmemphis7094 let's see how things go, I remain as optimistic as I do skeptical.
Oh, oh, looks like Moonwalker is coming out!!
Hee-Hee
Cautiously optimistic
@@michaels9917 a good way to be.
Looks interesting PCN. Has a few issues. But that could be worked out for sure. 8^)
Anthony..
@@Charlie-Cat. Let's see how things go Anthony.
Still don't get how they're getting around reading Saturn and DC disks. So all we've seen is stuff that most emulators can do, with a custom front end? Personally, I'd want an unedited video later in the year inserting a DC game, and playing it. Then swapping it for a Saturn disk and playing it. But, certainly interesting. Who's wrote the cores? Or are they just ported? (apart from the DC core that is).
PC n when you get a review unit And you like it I will buy it But I'll consider this item
@@SNKev411 Let's see how things go. Most of the comments are saying this thing is fake, however if the team behind it, would provide a unit for review, I'd test it on the channel.
Awesome bro
I will follow this, I've not seen anything from Sega about this, its not like there supporting it , Also so many ways to play the same games. lol
Let's see how it plays out.
It is not from Sega. It from a Brazilian company.
I don't know if the website URL you linked is correct, but it doesn't exist anymore lol.
Their SSL certificate is invalid.
@@PixelCherryNinja Even when bypassing it says "Site Not Found"
@@jimbles5071 oh damn, I didn't try to bypass.
@@jimbles5071 Yep bypassing it leads to dead site and they only have 1 video on there TH-cam channel smells like a scam to me
Why limit to only SEGA if its a FPGA?
Probably because it’s supposed to be specifically compatible with old Sega cartridges. Maybe the FPGA chip won’t be locked down, not enough info right now.
Cardridge? No chance.
What's the purpose of this if there's MISTER FPGA?
Dreamcast
If it does become a reality, having DC is a big one. It also pitches itself as the ultimate SEGA console. A massive gran of salt though.
Too many things about this project reek of bs.
Considering the guy behind this project is a known scammer, I think it’s safe to say:
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
This may well be the case, honestly I have no idea. I'd love to get them on the channel in a live stream Q&A, where they can answer technical questions on the spot. I think I'm gonna make them the offer.
Website link is deleted lol
Their SSL certificate is invalid/expired.
@@PixelCherryNinja That can't be good
Absolutely
Scam.
@@mauriciogarrido9093 let's see. I honestly have no idea.
I hope its not a scam, we're still hurt with the "new" Pc Futbol (classic spanish soccer manager)
I don't think such a product is impossible. I just highly doubt this group will ship at all, let alone what they claim.
Game Gear where are you?
I totally agree, and SMS and GG its the same device
@@funkar9703 Game Gear does have larger color palette 4,096 colors vs SMS 64 colors 😇
@@Reprogrammed_By_SEGA Thanks for the info I didn't know but its a lot of difference and both are 8 bit devices right?
@@funkar9703 It is basically the main difference, You can see use of the extended color palette in games like Double Dragon GG. You will see a lot of purple tones etc. colors not available to the SMS.
Hi, a hardware project and the most relevant is a video that seems a emulator launcher and they are asking for $$$ investment , this smells bad
A lot of alarm bells so far. I have asked them to come on to the channel for a Q&A, but I don't think they're gonna accept my offer.
“Oficial” wtf
"Proyect". No thank you.
Project in Spanish is called "Proyecto", thats the thing with the error.
I can tell you that isnt using an fpga
Yup, sound problem with saturn is definetely the same you would experience with an emulator running with underpowered CPU 🤣🤣. Looks obviously fake 🙄
This is just so silly at this point, an 15-20 dollar Tang Nano FPGA runs all these 8/16-Bit games perfectly, yet we are supposed to believe that they have a DC core when they don't even have a buttoned up Master System core, seriously 0_o, a single lone good FPGA dev will knock out a 1:1 Arcade core in a few days, yet this supposed team hasn't got the Master System core working, which by the way, the so-called sound "bugs" sound like deliberate sped up audio, play it back at 0.5X, and it almost sounds as it should, only with popping and crackling from the bit-crushing thanks to being sped up, the sad thing about this, is they will probably get away with scamming a few people, because at the risk of sounding like an a-hole, many of you are easy to scam, just look how many crowdfunding scams have gone down in the retro gaming scene, I hope not, but even when these things are this obviously a scam, people still seem to manage to fall for it and hand over money.
Let's see how things play out.
@@PixelCherryNinja Indiegogo, playback the audio at 2:33 @ 0.5x speed ;).
Indiegogo?
@@PixelCherryNinja Its the crowdfunding site these scams use, they don't need a prototype either to get on there, and can take home whatever money they raise without needing to reach the goal, no refinds needed either, all the best projects used it, SmachZ, Amico, Coleco Chameleon, Retro VGS, Pebble Time, SuperSega (lol).
@@PixelCherryNinja SmachZ, Coleco Chameleon, Retro VGS, Pebble Time, Amico, SuperSega (lol) they all were crowdfunded on there, and never refunded anyone because they didn't have to, so scammers love the site.
I like the idea of this all. Especially if it plays Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast.... but the design of the case is god awful. That needs to be addressed ASAP
It looks like complete shit. I want something that looks like SEGA themselves would have made it.
