Hi Kayleigh! What settings do you have on your Elinchrom lights for these beauty shoots? I’ve recently gotten the same setup as I was inspired by you to delve further into my beauty shoot work and I’m struggling to get that really nice glowy light you get in your photos. I was wondering if the set up of your actual elinchrom light is different than the default light and if so, what are they? Thanks so much! 💖

Current setting you used ISO Etc. And do you change the white balance or what White balance you used? Some ppl say it doesn’t matter when shooting RAW. Just seeing what all changes you make to your camera be nice to hear 👂 I have the Mark IV as well and shoot beauty work if you don’t mind me asking. Thank you! Keep doing what you do!

Thank you Kiunna! My ISO rarely changes in studio, it's usually at 100. The only thing that really changes is my aperture and I really tend to have it around f16 (depends on the shoot though) as it gives me a lot more detail for beauty shots.
I also do change my white balance in camera, I just like to get a decent base for colouring before I upload into lightroom and photoshop. I usually set it to 'flash' but sometimes tweak it using the Mark IVs white balance grid. 🙂

You're an angel. Thank you for sharing your beautiful knowledge with us.
Could you please share a link of which honeycomb grid you use with your light? I'm looking at purchasing the light set from B&H Photo. Did you get a beauty dish? I just recently watched one of your videos where I thought I saw one. Keep sharing! Looking forward to more of your videos. How to dodge and burn in Lightroom tutorial?

Can someone please explain the lighting a bit more? She says she just used the honeycomb grid and the reflector but it looks like a flash is going off (sorry absolute beginner here)

Apologies KJ for jumping in but I can't let this go on any longer! Stephanie...contained within the "box" you see at 2:27 is a studio flash, probably identical to the Elinchrom D4 you see at 2:55. The flash fires when commanded to by the camera, light bounces around inside the softbox and spills out through the translucent diffusing material (the white stuff) on the front of the softbox towards the subject. The honeycomb grid helps to keep the light spilling tightly forward instead of dispersing / blotching (that isn't a word really is it?) out all over the place and thus puts light on the subject. The reflector is important - it bounces some of this light from the softbox back at the subject, helping to fill in shadow areas that would otherwise be "missed" by the light from the soft box. Hope this helps...
