Blue Mountains Bird walk meditation

  • When I told a friend that I had a playlist full of bird song and bush walking footage for 'just-in-case-I-fall-into-a-coma' they laughed and so did I but you can never be too careful!
I'm a late diagnosed autistic adult who also has ADHD, CPTSD and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I'm also super passionate about birds and walking (plus a few other things of course). Put those all together and now you've got a video version of my coma play list.
It occurred to me recently that having a coma-ready playlist is a great idea in theory, but in practice it would only work if people knew it existed, could access it in your (hopefully temporary) absence and knew when to deploy it. And that's why I'm sharing it here.
While the chance of me ending up in a coma any time soon is fairly slim (I hope), the life expectancy of us autistic folks remains woefully low and I'm still trying to work out why. Well, when I say I'm still trying to work out why I do have a few ideas as I too tick some common autistic boxes when it comes to struggles relating to sleep, diet, stress and body awareness (clumsy and accident prone). By way of balance though I'll also add that I'm extremely passionate about life and am doing all I can to sway the odds in my favour by looking after myself and spreadsheeting every shite, stress count and exercise minute I live through.
So, regardless of whether this playlist/ 30 minute (ish) meditation ever achieves it's purpose or not, it is very relaxing. I've spent the last 20 years walking and documenting all of these trails and can somatically recall each and every one of these photographic memories. Some, I can even smell!
And with that I'll sign off leaving you with perhaps the most autistic piece of content I've ever managed to muster up.
I do hope you enjoy it and if you don't, please try and keep those thoughts to your own good self and move swiftly along.
See you in the forest unless you are a murderer and if you are and you find me I guess they can play this at my rather tragic funeral...

Hello fellow mountainsperson ❤ I'm not officially diagnosed yet but can relate. We live in a stunning part of the world and I often wonder if I live here because it's so soothing.
