I have recently started to think beyond my cute coop and enclosed run. I have recently added -and recommend to you as well- comfrey. It’s highly nutritions and such a robust hardy plant. I have started to grow it around the run inside cinder blocks so as to protect the root system bc as we know chickens are destructive. I plan to add mint next. Thanks for the great video!
I agree Comfrey is a beautiful, nutritious, and productive plant. The flowers a beautiful as well. Like mint, it can take over, but that works so perfectly around a coop. Thank you for the comment! Cheers, Britt
Dwarf banana plants sound awesome! Unfortunately, we are not in a compatible growing zone for those tropical beauties. My one bit of advice is some banana plants can become invasive, and spread very quickly. My quick research shows banana leaves are edible for chickens. I am sure you knew that already. So a fast growing food source that provides shade is a perfect combination for hungry hens. Cheers, Britt
Thank you for your kind comments and watching our video! I hope you are enjoying the videos. I loved your duck videos! Good luck with your channel too! Cheers, Britt

Thank you for sharing! I usually add things to the chicken yard that my flock eats. I am looking forward to adding more plants again soon.

I had a crazy idea of growing dwarf baby banana inside the run, I'm building a pergola style run, the baby banana plant will add some shade 😂
Nice video. Learn something every day. Subbed, liked, black belled. Us little channels have to stick together, lol.
