Follow along in this series of videos as I build a trailer mounted hydraulic boom crane that will be used for on farm processing of beef cattle and other livestock like hogs. The tip of the boom will reach a height of over 14 feet and be capable of lifting over 2000 lbs. I am converting a boat trailer into a mobile beef processing trailer. The heavy duty rope will not support the boom like you think. Put a steel bar under the boom to the trailer. Look at a safety bar on dump bed or dump trailers.

Where are you mounting the ballast weights, and due to the trailer being an old boat trailer, it could do with some additional strength. The tongue is ridiculously long. What the average weight of a cow? 500-650kg
