I love my ninja 400. The perfect hooligan bike for the street. I really enjoy making it sing most of the time. Good on fuel, insurance, wear and tear, reliable, comfortable, good looking, cheap, good for filtering and fun. This 500 must be even more fun… but I really dislike the paint scheme. Imagine having to clean those when too, especially in and chain side. I also own the latest 1000 but that’s more for touring or a calm ride. The 400 is just an amazing dramatic bike and one that I’ll be keeping for a long time. Coming from a rider who has been riding for 25 years.

I had a small bike of similar displacement years ago and it was alot of fun, from 0 to 65 they are pretty quick and on mountain roads you don't really have to use the brakes because of how they are geared.
I bought a Ninja 500 ABS about 3 weeks ago as my first bike. I wanted the 40th an, but they didnt have any available...I fucking love this machine. Im biased cause its my first motorcycle but im having so much fun on it.
40th anniversary bikes to me are the best looking bikes. (Reminder of teenage years lol). Would be awesome to own 40th anniversary in every model from 500 zx4rr zx6r ZX10 or H2 (how good would they look sitting together in the garage 🤔😁) Anything bigger than and including zx4 scares me knowing how quickly it can be impounded and how quickly I'd be in handcuffs lol
I went 40th anniversary ninja. Delivery should be next week (still can't believe I found one in Australia 🥳) The look was the reason for my desperate purchase

Also you wouldn't believe my awesome luck, I own the zx4rr now also in 40th anniversary after the nightmare finding a 500 my local dealer got one in on Saturday and just my luck I saw on Monday (paid in full then and there lol). Dealership agreement to leave bike there until I buy home elsewhere because I don't want locals to see any of the bikes I own as I've been charged for hurting the last motorcycle thief literally (C**t followed my 5yr daughter home riding her tc50 and broke in later when visiting my palliative father in hospital. Literally how do you explain that?), Victoria Australia isn't like America unfortunately. Luckily I am blessed to be in a financial position to move areas before selling my home.

I went with the Ninja 500 SE edition. Mostly because of the larger distribution network and greater availability of parts. If I was more mechanically inclined I might have made a different choice, but I just want a good reliable motorcycle that is economical to ride and maintain.
Which would you prefer for me, I’m 6’4 inches, I wholeheartedly want to get the ZX4RR, but sweet Mother Teresa, the 650 rocks and the Ninja 500 looks awesome. Oh, I am planning on looking at some bike tomorrow after work.
Bro, those are radically different bikes. The ZX-4RR is a torqueless, high-revving track bike that needs an ECU flash to unlock its full power. You gotta want that engine response and exciting sound. The Ninja 500 and 650 are torquey, low-revving bikes for the road that pull hard stock and will leave the ZX-4RR in the dust. It's gotta be what you precisely want. They're in different stratospheres!

I know it's a bad habit and your right I should, I live in Texas and I see my friends who Ride with them and they look like there melting sometimes, I know and your right , it's just a personal choice,if anything ever happens i will bear the consequences. Hey Ray! I have a question for you, good sir. I recently passed the CMSP and will be taking my test soon. I am having a hard time figuring out whether to get a Ninja 500 or a Ninja 650. Which is the best bike for a beginner rider?
Go 500. Insurance is cheaper, it's about $2500+ less, it's about 50 lbs lighter, and if you flash the ECU and get a full exhaust system you can get more HP than the 650, and still be around $800 less.

Owned a RC390. Rides really rough. Hard on the wrist and back. Seat is like a board. It would be good for the track but not good on the street. You would have a shorter maintenance cycle. I bought filters and oil in bulk. Just my experience.
I like Hondas, but they better get their MSRP down another 2k if they want to even want to be in the running. I’m getting a Ninja, or Z 400, 500, or possibly a 650. Hondas are just WAY overpriced for what you get. I’ll stick to Kawasaki’s!!!
I have a question. I’ve never owned a bike. I don’t have the thoughts that a 400-600 cc isn’t enough bike for me. My concern is at highway speeds does it get up and go? Like if we’re cruising at 60, can I punch it and get up to speed to get out of the way? I have my eyes set in the 40th anniversary being my first bike. But I have that worry that it’s not enough power at highway speeds to get out of the way. Is this a valid concern? Any insight is appreciated

@Yerocco I rode one and had no problems , not to say you wont- but let me tell you kawasaki doesn't dream this stuff up and produce it the next day.Its Tested and tested and tested. That's just my opinion though. Kawasaki is truly Dedicated to a Great product experience. Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.
They're not going to because inline 4s have more ring blow by than parallel twins and tend to be less fuel efficient. Also 4s are heavier and more expensive. You don't want the Ninja 500 to be a 4, you only think you do.

It's not a 1 liter 200hp bike , but it scoots - I rode one so I'm speaking 1st hand!

They're not going to because inline 4s have more ring blow by than parallel twins and tend to be less fuel efficient. Also 4s are heavier and more expensive.
