Exactly!!! That´s the beauty of this things!!! They don´t look as old as they actually are! They are timeless! And I can confirm that they make brilliant daily drivers, I love my ´91 300D!!!

Great looking 124 wagon and for those who haven't been up close and personal these wagons are huge inside especially with the back seat down. Thanks Bryce and Pierre for an inspirational video on classic Mercedes Benz ownership.

Love the 124! I had an '86 with a manual transmission. Bought it used. I moved a few times, and even the dealers had never seen one. Great cars!

I absolutely love my w124. First car I ever purchased over 15 years ago. Feeling the parts hunt pain right now. It’s that 1st gen 4matic and I’m on the hunt for suspension and hydraulic parts.

Die hard 123 fan here , but I gotta admit the 124 age very well , nice wagon man.

My 210 went out to pasture and I found a nice ‘93 w124 om602 turbo w/180k but neglected the past few years. Bought it with ATM money and drove it home bouncing on flat shocks and turbo non functional. I sprayed penetrating oil in the struts and jumped up and down on the bumper and the struts pumped right up and it drives like new! Slapped on new Michelins, full brake job and fluids and ripped out all the vacuum wastegate crap and switched to a pressure wastegate setup and turbo pumps up to 12psi in a second or two. Injector knock on #2 I hope to fix tomorrow. I hope to have this 29 year old benz another 29 years! Love 💕 it!
Oh almost forgot!!! All paperwork included and turns out factory motor replacement at 80k due to defective timing chain so the motor only has about 100k on it!! What a bonus. Unfortunately the reverse went out shortly after and I found an exact replacement year and model tranny for $200 w/115k on it. Popped it in and it shifts PERFECT! I love this car and my wife can’t believe how nice it rides… she thinks I’m a genius.

I have a 1989 230E 4 speed manual. It only has 162000 miles on it. Everything works. Tempomat, aircon, all buttons. My dad had it since new. An amazing car. The ride is superior to my 2010 C220 CDI. Lovely car. The only part hard to find is the rubber for the motorised aerial on the rear fender. Thanks for your insightful channel. Greetings from South Africa!

I have owned 4 W124 wagons including a 1990 300TE. After miles of driving it, it went to my son and it finally died at 187 K miles. You either love the W124 wagons or you don’t and the attendant costs to maintain them. My current 1995 E320 wagon is a true joy to drive and enjoy.

I bought my 1992 W124 280TE pre-facelift in 2001. When I got it, it had 28K miles, and now has just under 100k miles. It is a Almandine Red with grey leather and 7 seats. In all that time, it has only needed oil/filter/tyres/pads and a couple of front disc changes. It has a very very minor oil weep at the front of the head gasket. It is such a wonderful car to drive. Long distances can be traveled with effortless ease and it has poise and a discrete presence. I never had a reason to change.

Pierre, I think you are tired and need a rest. :-)
I am not a fan of 'pinkamino' but when the original palamino is not faded it's terrific. Any black car is going to a notch above the rest so on Bryce for buying and maintaining this classic.

I'm a diehard W123 person, but I have a soft spot for a 1992 300TE. I think it's the addition of the lower body cladding while the old style hood, grille and headlights were retained that makes the '90-'93 W124's the best looking of the bunch.

    Hi Pierre,
I’ve been following your channel for years, thank so much for all the great content!
I live in Italy and I’m looking to buy an old school analogue Mercedes but the prices for W123’s R107’s and R 129’s are insanely high. Therefore I started looking for a C124, which engine would you recommend ?
Thank you for your time sir

I will soon have 300k miles on my 1993 300TE in CA. Going to replace catalytic converter soon. Will it pass smog again with a cat replacement and almost 300k miles? Hmm... Time will tell. Yes, daily driver and owner for +6 years.

I have the same car same color but the interior is black I wish it was palomino. My W123 has a palomino interior but the exterior is gold. Agree my 2001 E430 doesn’t have that same Mercedes feel maybe because they were worried Lexus. But my 2009 E350 Sport model seems more like classic Mercedes the way it feels and handles. Love the interior.
