You, Peter, and Robbie are the two main men from what i can see. You've both been everywhere on i guess almost all the lights out there. Special folks you are the last men with the knowledge passed down for over a hundred maybe 200 years of sea and of ships and of storm. I really got to give you thanks and especially i like the intro for "Our Lighthouse Heritage" it is very beautiful with a lot of good details to look at and it is quite relaxing. I love watching that fresnel turn. What Light is that? I know by the very rooftop its not Bishop Light or Hanoi Light? They have Helipads. Which one? I am lucky to be the first post and the likely the first to watch your video and i save these to my "Lighthouses At Sea" playlist. It has over 400 lighthouse and related videos now. Keep them coming Peter im a big fan of this.
Another brilliant video peter. I never seem to find enough time to sit and watch your uploaded video's, but one by one i WILL get through them as im finding them fascinating. All the best 💡🏠
Another great Interview Peter, one can definitely see just how much those memories mean to each of you in these interviews. Since you've retired I see you enjoy hiking and editing and sharing videos of your lighthouse keeping years. What type of hobbies do some of the other retired keepers have such as Robbie like doing after so many years on a rock or at sea ? I'm picturing lots of golf or like yourself walking great open spaces after so many years of confinement for work. Thanks for sharing your Lighthouse stories !!!
@@PeterHalil so sad, you handful are truly the last of an iconic piece of our history. Children and young people today other then these important videos you share will never understand the real heart of what a Lighthouse is. These modern day beckons to me are lifeless, all they have now is the haunting echoes within their walls of machinery 😞
What a steady and dependable , kind-sounding gent. He must have been easy to get along with. Are your films with the ALK as well as on TH-cam? I only ask because they're such a unique record. I hope you still have a few more... As ever, thanks!
Brilliant archive stuff Peter - I doubt TH have anything as valuable in terms of genuine first hand reportage. I had no idea the accommodation was so small! One question - in those days how did you know if it was foggy at night to be able to turn the horns on?
Thank you for your comments. At night we relied on our visible lights from other lighthouses we logged, then when they vanished it was down to watching the beams from your lighthouse. When foggy they would develop a lump on the end and decrease in length...hope that makes sense.
Thank you Peter for this upload. What a decent and level man Robbie is.
This is such amazing history !! im adding your channel to my channel folk!
Grief, thank you very much, glad you like our History, thanks again and stay safe.

Robbie yes, me not so much and there are lots of Keepers that did more than me with regards off shore lighthouses, but thanks for your kind words.
Great video Peter, Robbie is very nice guy and I hope is enjoying retirement too.
Just discovered these interviews, fascinating and extremely nostalgic. This gentleman sounds like Steve Harris from Iron Maiden..!!
Thanks, glad you found them, Rob will be pleased. Cheers and stay safe

Cheers, perhaps Robbie will answer that one, truth is I'm not in touch with any other Keepers, we all went our separate ways and vanished.

Hello Robbie , old friend , from Dave 9 AT 113
Hi Dave, Nice to hear from you and Canada after 30 years, I hope you are well.
What a steady and dependable , kind-sounding gent. He must have been easy to get along with. Are your films with the ALK as well as on TH-cam? I only ask because they're such a unique record. I hope you still have a few more... As ever, thanks!
Yes Robbie is all of that, and no my films aren't with the ALK as I'm not a member, and yes lots more to come.
@@PeterHalil Fair enough 😉 Keep 'em coming. Cheers!
