have a hammer about 200 years old from my great great grandfather who came from Holland. This hammer is a family heirloom. I’m not sure what type of metal it’s made out of, it has a leather handle. I’ll pay you $250 to restore her.
I just can say I'm fascinated by the care and meticulousness you approach your projects with. Both the restorations themselves and the video editing. The result is spectacular, satisfying and aesthetic. I have been following your channel for about a year now and I think I will not leave anymore. I even consider my support on Patreon. Stay like this. Fantastic job
Wow that blue masking must've taken a long time to do. It was worth it, the paint looked fantastic 👌 The measurement disc was the best. Also, as a Scottish woman, I feel strongly that I have to send you a better beer! 🤣
I love how you smooth out all of the overcast from all the parts. People don’t always realize how this can improve the performance of their things. By the way, it looks beautiful, you really rock at this.
Very nice restoration! The scale has become really cool. I also liked the part where you turned and milled the small bolts. Top work, nice perspectives, nice cut! 😁🐢
That thing looks incredible. Editing was spot on also. I have a old bathroom scale to restore that I have been putting off but this makes me want to tackle it next. 🍻
Very nice restoration, beautiful colors. Reminds me of the old spring loaded kitchen scale my mom had when I was growing up. It was a bright sunny yellow, which I believe was popular in American kitchens in the 1950s and 60s.
@@NTRprojects I was first impressed with your Kitchen aid restore. Yes, he may do the sandblast head thing but you do beer.... best of both. BTW try Moose Drool from Big Sky Brewing from Montana.
Fabulous. Your really put a lot of detail into the pinstriping of the paint. Once again you have restored something better than it had ever been to begin with. Danke Dr. Beer
How exquisite! Wish I was a 4 inch tall 'elf on a shelf' watching you work on it up close. You may have to pick me up and move me out of the way at times, but I'd take that as an extra bonus. A very nice job indeed!
very careful and neat work. with good care, surely this antique will be able to last longer and future generations will be able to see the designs of the past in the future and will definitely have a high value~malaysia boy🇲🇾
Salters is a very old company. The firm began life in the late 1760s in the village of Bilston, England when Richard Salter, a spring maker, began making the first spring scales in Britain. Good video 🇬🇧😐
That was great! Thanks very much for the captioning explaining what you're doing (and the little jokes). The face of the scale turned out waaaay better than I thought it would.
A Salter and no battery! On a scale of one to ten, I give that scale a ten. How much does it weigh on a scale? I'm glad you reviewed that Scottish Belhaven beer. I'm in Belhaven country. Do Innis & Gunn Original. Now there's a beautiful beer... 😀🍻
What a beautiful restoration! You are very talented, and obviously take pride in your work. A family member had a Salter scale very similar to this - perhaps a 1930s make. It had the same brass face, but was a very pale mint green, it was a very striking combination. But I do like the gold trim you added.
Great job. I am currently renovating the same model and the reassembly parts of the video are going to be really handy as this is the first time I have tried something like this
Truly a quality piece! Wonderful job Dr. Beer! I especially like the quality of the video. It’s such a feat to restore something so beautifully, but a work of art to capture it the way you do on video. Cheers 🍻
That, good sir, is absolutely beautiful! The paint job you did is perfect, makes the whole chassis of the machine look more like porcelain than cast iron. And I, for one, love your lathe the best of every single lathe I have seen in restoration videos. The fact that it can do typical lathing duties and still do double duty as a milling machine makes this the MUST OWN machine in anyone's shop. Seriously! Do you take beer donations from viewers or do you special order them?
my grandmother has a similar Salter scale. I think from the factory that they were enamel coated. I don't mean enamel paint, I mean proper enamel coating. The pitting on the cast surface wouldn't have been an issue. Also, the fashion of that era would most probably have been blue detail of similar shade to the masking tape you used and not gold. This is just FYI. I always enjoy your restos
Aaand another dad joke.. 😁
Aaand another extraordinary work, well done 👏
What should I say: I'm getting older and therefore the dad jokes can't be avoided. Thank you very much!!!

And now, the philosophical question: did it came first the joke or the part?
Wonderful job, sir. The scale’s new paint made it look like new porcelain! 👍
I think so too, that was what I was aiming for! Great to hear it from you
I was going to say exactly that!!!!!!!👍👍👍

Seeing this scale i was reminded to "the beauty and the beast" this time it was "the beauty and the beer".
Great Job.
Beautiful restoration
That white and golden combination looks fabulous
Love your restorations! And your beer reviews are quite informative! You’ve earned my subscription.
Amazing, the gold highlights made it look like it was made from Porcelain, very beautiful result.

Ahhhh much better than New!! Thanks for sharing 😀
i had one of this since i was a kid, so good seeing it restored.
Beautiful work, really professional! I've a similar one but with a porcelain glazed scale. Your video will be a great help for my restoration.
Perfect... time to relax by watching someone else work. You and Hand tool Rescue are my favorites.
I'm flattered you put me in line with the funny guy

It’s a testament to your craftsmanship that you take time to perfect internal parts that may never even be seen again.
This is such a beautiful restoration. You've given it a new life.
Sieht richtig gut aus das Ding. Top Arbeit.
Bravo, nicely done. Vice grips have saved me many times. The methods used on the pan were amazing
Nice restoration. That cast iron body of the scale is one of the most delicate and precise castings I’ve ever seen. Amazing ironwork.
Glad you like it! It was really though to sand all this delicate castings :D
The detail of the restoration is impressive👌! Amazing result👍
I have been a chef for over 20 years and a scale has always been just a scale to me but this sir is elegance at its finest
