One of my favourite LOVEBITES songs, and I like this older version just as much as the newer version.
David, you've been misled. Miyako studied classical piano from age 3 to 18. When she was 18 and starting college she bought an electric guitar, taught herself out of a book, and joined a Metal-core band. She was about 28 when this was filmed, so she had already been a professional guitarist for about 13 years. She also plays bass (even slap), drums (enough to keep time), synth, keytar, trombone and violin. And she has a degree in Music Composition, and writes about 1/2 of their songs. She did her first public piano recital last October, and a second one later this year. She's also Recording Engineer level on Pro Tools. (She ran the computer on all of the shows on their EU tour, will prolly do the same in US) I'll see them in Dallas 9/8
Miyako’s first guitar was an Ibanez, she got it as a gift from her grandfather.
Congratulations for seeing LOVEBITES live in the US! Have seens them live in Europe and yesterday (as stream) in Korea, and it was so great!

Mrs H. should be happy to hear the entire band is 'fun size' . Miyako and new bassist Fami are the tallest at about 5'2". Have fun at the concert.

Miyako started playing guitar at age 18. She was 30 (or 29 if this show was before April) at this time, born in 1990, and this performance was in 2020, so she had been playing guitar for about 12 years at this time.
Here's a new revelation about Miyako, our Ice Queen. You used to complain about her not moving around, but in fact, she was severely nearsighted (0.02) and could hardly see anything around her on stage. I think the fact that she started to smile a little more has a lot to do with the LASIK surgery she had the year before last, which restored her eyesight.

You're going to have such a good time at the show. Live, Asami is even better than you see in these live videos. Hilariously, at the show i went to at the New Cross Inn, we gave her a massive ovation before the last song of the encore and she got a bit flustered and said "Thanks for cheering and that." Sounded proper British! 😂
let's say 3-4 things about the song.........this song with this clip was the first song I heard from Lovebites (from a reactor).....the song you can find it live but with the new bass player on their official YT channel..........I won't say the 3rd one (only if you ask me I will)........😏😉

For some reason in Japanese Pop/Rock/Metal music a lot of times the darker the lyrics the happier the music. Sometimes it's best not to know what the message is and just enjoy. Peace.
I haven't seen the Miho version of this in a while, nice reaction! The first live performance video I ever saw was the Fami version of this song and I remember how much it blew me away, I have been a huge LOVEBITES fan ever since. Asami holds that entire final note without taking a breath in the Fami version, Mrs. H would love that one also. 🤘🐺🤘🔨

In order to learn Fami, you are right, but tbh, I've compared the two performances, when Fami's version came out, they don't differ too much! All okay!

Great reaction! Very fun! But one small correction - While Miyako started playing piano at age 3 and did not pick up guitar until she was 18, she turned 30 a couple weeks before this show. So while people do tend to marvel that she started playing guitar "late" she still had been playing for 11 or 12 years in the video. I've also never understood why for all the gushing about Miyako not picking up guitar until she was 18, people rarely mention Midori is on record that she didn't pick up guitar until she was 20 (in university when she switched majors from pharmacology to music which required her to play at least 2 instruments, her first instrument is also piano). Midori is also a year or two younger than Miyako (probably, unlike Miyako she keeps her exact age secret), so she's been playing guitar 3 or 4 years less than Miyako (but still probably 8 or 9 years in the video which was actually filmed now 4 and a half years ago).
I've seen information that Midori was born in 88, making her older than Miyako, but whatever the case, these ladies are my favorite guitarists and they work together better than anyone. 🎸🎸🤘
If you check Wikipedia Miyako was born 05.04.90 and Midori 28.05.88. So Midori is 2 years or so older. Not younger. Which means they started playing guitar more or less at the same time.
@@andreaspedersen3952 Ah so Midori allowed her age/birth year to become public knowledge? Must be a new development in the last couple years. I was going off picking up guitar at 20 and when she joined the band she was in before Lovebites making her no younger than 2 or 3 years younger than Miyako with 1 or 2 years younger more likely. But yeah I can believe two years older than Miyako also (it's not like either of them is OLD). Either way both of them were playing a lot more than 1 or 2 years when the original video was made. And still bemused that so many people (in general, not saying you) make such a big deal about Miyako starting guitar at 18 but seemingly shrugging off Midori starting at 20 (or at least they did back in the days when DH was first discovering Lovebites).
@@greggarvin2663She's 36 yo btw, 32 yo when this dvd filmed, so basically 12 years of playing. At 25 yo already shredding with Gekijo (2013). Not many people realized, both Miyako and Midori already doing good on guitar before even join Lovebites. Unlike Lovebites, Gekijo Metalicche and A Drop Of Joker (their previous band) has more modern kinda sound with low tuned guitar+scream etc. While in Lovebites both M&M's like back to the roots of metal with NWOBHM/European style of sound.

Another great reaction by your wife. I am use to the more recent live version of "Hammer of Wrath" with Fami but to be honest, I think the band is a lot tighter in this version and it is easy to forget what an incredible bassist that Miho is.

That there's minor differences... but major? Come on...
It could have been that the recording was better, but since the newer version was the first song in that set with a new bassist, the version with Miho was noticably tighter to me. And this is not to take anything away from Fami who is exeptional. The newer version is still great. @andreaspedersen3952

Next time Mrs you go for rewinding 3 times 🤗. LOVEBITES released a more recent performance of Hammer of Wrath with Fami. In that Asami does the belt at the end in one breath and holds it longer. Looking forward to the rest of the 4. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Ah! The old one! OK - that's fine, I had expected the 2023 one, with Fami, the new bassist. But, the old one is also fun to see.
BTW - regarding dresses. Yes, they are generally dressed in white, and has always generally done so.
But - in more intime theatres with a small scenes and a small audience I have seen them in black.
