    Another great tut, Nicko! THANK YOU! Another option for drying tube and mask is using the mask fit [test] setting, rather than turning it on and off. It gives a stronger air blast for a few minutes, before switching to the cool down mode.

    My partner and I (located in regional Australia) each purchased an Airsense 11 in Oct/Nov 2021 (his was a replacement for a Phillips, while I was just starting my CPAP adventure). The local supplier had a stack of them. Literally, they were literally stacked up. In our kits we each received the unit itself, the standard (white tab) humidity tank, heated hose, a mask, and a carry case. They didn't have filters for the 11, so gave us some for the 10 with instructions to cut to fit. There was no mention of a side panel or an alternative humidity tank.
    Thanks to your great video, my partner went back to our local supplier to ask about the grey tab humidity tank. The newer staff member there advised that the Airsense 11 has not yet been released.
    😳

    I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea through the VA hospital here in the US. I started therapy almost 2 weeks ago and I cannot get used to this thing. The longest I have worn my mask is just shy of 2 hours before ripping it off. On average I wear it for around 30 minutes before I take it off. I don't know how any of you can do this. Currently I get better sleep with sleep apnea than doing the therapy. Haha!

      @jspla 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Same here the VA forced me into a horrific sleep study then gave me the machine. Any type of mask I ripped off. Only thing I can barely tolerate is the nose insert pillow ones. I found a way to have it real loose on top and behind head works best.

      Try using it during the day when you’re awake and doing things like reading or watching tv, using your computer/phone, etc. get your mind/body used to having it on in a non-sleep state when you’re relaxed and comfortable.
      If you can only tolerate it for 30 min like that, that’s fine! Just keep working at it like that and keep trying to increase your time even minute by minute - if you get anxious or stressed, you’ve gone too far too fast. You may also need a doc to prescribe an anti-anxiety med for you for while you’re working on it.
      Also, if your machine has a ramp setting or an auto setting, talk to your sleep therapist about using these to start “low and slow” each time you put on your CPAP to slowly adjust your pressure depending on if you’re awake/asleep and if you’re having apneic events.
      The key to successful transition to CPAP therapy is patience, practice, and perseverance. You must also give yourself the grace to not adjust immediately or quickly and need help in doing so. We are all different and need different approaches to learning new things. Adjusting to having something on our face is no different.
      If you have not tried it yet, the ResMed face masks do have a line that have the tubing that comes off the top of the mask (on the top of your head) vs off the front of the mask (your face). To me, these are more comfortable and less constricting. I prefer the “nasal cushions” (different yet similar to nasal pillows) but I think they also have a rig for a face mask as well.
      If you’re having problems with proper fit (mask seal) and/or taking it off, you may find you need an additional padding or a different mask option. I would also suggest talking to your sleep therapist about trialing a new one.
      I hope your CPAP experience gets better!

      @@jessicawarth218 I’ve tried that. I’ve been trying to use this machine for almost 2 months now. I hate it. I have an appointment with a dentist to get fitted for the dental device. Hopefully that works because this CPAP machine (mask) is horrible. I cannot stand anything strapped to my face and I’ve tried several styles. I get better sleep when not using the machine. Haha.

    Another way of drying your hose is putting it in a washing machine but only on the Soin cycle. I line the drum with a couple of bath towels to prevent the heated tube from being damaged by the impeller. Depending on your washer ionly have it on l low to normal but only about 20 seconds. This is pretty crucial.
    I've been using my CPAP machine but I've noticed a couple of things: 1) if you use the prewarm water feature and bump the hose, you may get an error saying the climate hose prewarm. The only way I could clear the error and reinvoke the prewarm cycle was to unplug it for about 30 seconds. 2). Very handy about knowing about airplane. At my CPAP dealer they didn't give me an SD card and access my machine over the cellular network. Can I use any 32 mgb or larger SD card?
    Thanks and enjoy watching your videos.

    Without the humidifier and with the cover installed in place of the tank,
    Because it's the same turbine, it will become as loud as the Airmini when you breath. (Loud at the mask level as the sound of the turbine travels through the air in the tube)
    The humidifier tank acts like a muffler because if the cavity/baffles it adds to the path of the air.

    Hey Nick, Everyone seems so intent on getting all their equipment dry before use, but I just don't see the point. I know others may have a different routine, but I generally wash my stuff on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and then use it in the evening. As soon as I use it, it's going to get wet anyway.

    **Better tip for brightening the screen**
    Open literally ANY app (doesn’t matter which one) that has a white background. Simply set the iPhone (white screen down) on top of the light sensor and instantly watch the display of the AirSense 11 get super bright. (No need to use the flashlight feature of your phone, as that’s too much for what’s needed). Now you have to,hand to conduct your business with the machine. When you’re done, simply remove the iPhone from the top of the cpap. Easy.

All the full face mask designs have clips etc however an F30i is probably your best bet as the clips are magnetic and it's relatively easy to pull on over the head. Cheers mate

      I think it's pretty good to be honest. When the AirSense10 dropped in 2014 the retail price here was $2595. I thought AirSense11 would be more than that considering the limited supply so it was a welcome surprise when they dropped at $2049. There's probably less margin for retailers also which means the price will not be dumped like we saw with the AirSense10 and other devices. Don't expect to see it down near $1500 in a few months time. All the best. Nicko

    I have question, I watched another cpap TH-cam producer discuss something called a v-com for people that have air leakage from the mouths frequently. My Dad and I both use a cpap but he has periodic mouth leakage. So I was considering getting him the V-COM But after watching your videos it occurred to me that maybe the v-com would actually give the cpap false readings or would at least deeply muddle the data recorded ... thoughts?
    The second concern I had after watching your videos was something my mom said about Dad's sleep... that things would be going nicely (sleep wise for my dad) but then he would stop breathing and then gasp and have an air leak from his mouth... seemed a lot like that guy you reviewed who had these periodic central apneas.
    My cpap is monitored by my doctor but my dad's is not 😞
    I need to get him in to see my sleep doctor and get him a new machine maybe a respro airsense elite which captures a lot of data and figure out if his apnea is actually being treated.
    He had a sleep study done a long long time ago and his current cpap is something he bought online but I'm gonna get him to my sleep doctor, get him a new machine and get him a pulse ox ring
    What was the kind of machine for people with the weird sleep breathing rhythms?
    Thanks for your videos it's been very enlightening and scary (in a good way)!

    Why can't i connect my Airsense 11 with MyAir app? It says my region(Aus) not supported

    • @Xeberth
      @Xeberth 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends of the serial number and associated region of your machine
      I’m from Mexico and can’t connect Air11 to MyAir app if my account was crated for Mexico region
      So what I do was create a new account from US region since my machine comes from that country and then AirSense app connected my device.
      Very tricky that stuff

    Hello for the USA. My Air Curve 10 took a dump recently. After that, I went into rehab for a knee problem. The people here said that I should still use something, and they gave me an Air Sence 11 to use while I am here. They set it up for apap, and I HATE IT. I was very used to bi-level, and apap doesn't work anything like bipap. I feel like it's a constant struggle to breathe, so I turned it off. That's all I have to say about it. Thank you for your channel. 👩‍🦳

    Thank you for these helpful hints. I have been using this machine for some times now.This machine has many inconveniences.. especially with the humidifier.. It consumes lots of water, even if you turn the humidifier to zero.. it still consumes water. As well the humidifier is tough to open. The worst part, the tube makes noises (the heated one or not). If you use the heated one then you have to ensure that the level of heating temperature corresponds to the room temperature. These noises disturb my wife... I am still working on removing these noises and may switch back to the non humidifier option. I also do not understand why they dont supply the non distilled water humidifier at purchase time. I have all of these options but I have not found out the correct solution. As well why dont they publish all of these information in the user's manual? Bottom line, I do not like this Aisense and wishes that my Dreamstation could be replaced. I do not recommend that CPAP.

    • @s.bibula7585
      @s.bibula7585 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I'm wondering the same. I think it comes with it, but is removed by the DME. Mine thought I'd be a clueless nitwit and told me the machine wouldn't work without the water container, but never gave that cover to me. Sigh.

      I would hardly call providing a few tips 'riding it hard' Regardless of what i recommend, there will be millions of people who will end up with the AirSense11 and as such it's just a few tips to help those who do have it.

      @@CPAPReviews My folks use the Airsense 10 and when I went to the medical equipment provider to pick up my PAP device after I was diagnosed, I asked them about the Airsense 10 (I noticed one in a display case along with lots of, what I assume, were older models). They said ResMed in many cases only provides the newer Airsense 11 to the medical equipment providers, that all new PAP users have to use if going through insurance (at least in the US). You can still buy Airsense 10s on other sites, so they're clearly still making them. I guess they are just pushing the new model hard.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      @asciiavatar yes that's correct. ResMed has higher margins on the AirSense11 so they make more selling it compared with the AirSense10 which is why they push it through insurance

    Pre-order the Airsense11 AutoSet 4G - cpap.review/airsense11-aus
    There is very limited stock available and no doubt it will sell out like it has everywhere else.
    CPAP Direct also wholesale cpap equipment so If you are in the sleep apnea business and want a better deal than you're currently getting direct from the manufacturers without all the headaches and sales targets. Speak to Reza @ cpap.com.au and tell him you're mate with Uncle Nicko. They can also provide you with home sleep test equipment so you can build your own patient base.
    If you're starting out on your CPAP Journey, here are some Top Secret AirSense11 features to help you on your way.
    1. You can add an SD card in the side. 32GB or below will do the trick and make sure it's unlocked when you insert it. The SD card can be used on sleephq.com for advanced charts and reporting.
    2. The AirSense11 screen will automatically adjust the brightness depending on the ambient light in the room. If you're having a hard time reading it, increasing the room's brightness will increase the screen's brightness. You can also use your phone and place it on the sensor at the top to increase brightness.
    3. There are two humidifier chambers available. One is a cheap option that must be used with distilled water, and another is more expensive and can be used with tap water. It's also dishwasher safe.
    4. The AirSense11 has a secret menu that can be accessed by simultaneously holding down the Blue and Purple icons for 3-5 seconds. This will unlock a lot more features and settings.
    5. Adding a Climatelineair11 heated tube system will activate the climate control feature, which is one of my favourites. You can also then pre-heat your humidifier 20 minutes before bed for instant humidification.
    6. If your Tube is a little damp, turn the AirSense 11 on and then off your device will activate the humidifier cool down feature, which will run air through the tube to dry it out.

The #10 as soon I'll wake up turn my head and saw 3 green apples. This piece of shit I need glasses and a cup of strong coffee to see same. With the reservoir full it barely lasted 1st night. This with humidity on 1 It goes back for sure. Again you-re full of it.
