@knuddelwuschel As far as I know, you can only control your ball from left to right. Depending on how long you charge up your shot for, it may go a bit farther, but other than that I don't think there is a way to hit a lob or any other shot deep into the court. That being said, tricky and technique characters have better lobs than power characters, so their lobs may go a little deeper.
I've been trying to beat characters on max difficulty as well. It was tough for Yoshi to beat fellow speed characters while Tricky and Technique characters were easy. Playing as Bowser was easier against Birdo than playing as Yoshi
hit like if you, Love your Nintendo 64 from when you were a kid and even today, also love mario tennis especially, forgot to put on player cam every game and played so hard and so much that you could win the star tournament within ten minutes or a three set game in less then two minutes
I have just beaten yoshi on gravel on max with mario. In my opinion the hardest match up. Took a half year to get to this point. I love this game so much.
I cant believe in Mario tennis open your going to have a marker everywhere the ball goes to show you where it will land..ALL THE TIME. This was the classic, the good stuff.
@knuddelwuschel you can make it lob further to the back if you start by pressing A to lob but charge and hit it by pressing B. Additionally, if you start by pressing B before it gets to you and finish the hit by pressing A to charge and hit it, it gives a weak hit with a little backspin.
Why are so many people posting saying they could destroy Nintendewd? I don't think he issued a challenge anywhere nor did he say he was the best there every was in this game. He played the game, very well might I add. Also, nice video quality. What recorder did you use?
I have heard something that is only slightly true depending on the character like wario if you're charging and you hold a direction such as back and to the side right before you swing go to the other side your shot will be curved and slightly faster depending on the timing it works really well with dk luigi and wario but not many others
@64Gameplay yah, i knew. But what I meant is that i wished pj64 looked EXACTLY like this. The current emulation misses a lot of the framebuffer effects, like the ball trail, split screen, or the replay screen effects, and stuff like that that enhances the graffics. Sure it's playable, but it's not 100% accurate.

Beat the 3 cup tournament with every character and then beat the 3 cup star tournament with every character. Basically, consume yourself with the game for an entire week

@tarnoob my friend and I did a comparison of consoles once. We took into account the graphics during the console's era and not only what we thought were great games, but games that were so good they were basically already on the "Games you must buy" even when they weren't out, and basically yeah we agreed that the N64 is the greatest console of all time
@64Gameplay I went as far as yo try emulating the Wii virtual console in Dolphin just to play Mario Tennis, but had some trouble with the controller detection and stuff xD
I LOVE This game after i finished the game and cleared it (with all the characters ) and even the dream cups i decided to play tennis on real life too Guss what? after only 1 month i beated the boss!!!

@peqes2 beat the 3 original cups with every character, getting each one of them a "star". then, you have to beat 3 new cups with every character in the game. it is kind of long but worth it
I never played a Mario tennis game in my life and im trying to collect Mario games but now that Baby Mario is playable i want to play it for the 3DS and another thing the only sport they didn't do yet for a Mario sport is Football and that would kick ass especially if they add items like a red shell to attack somone with the ball
What i meant was that DK has a power advantage over Mario. It's super easy. I tried Mario versus Bowser and that was actually easy too. Bowser was too slow. Playing Wario is more difficult b/c he has power and is not that slow.
That's what emulators are for. I got a Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance, and Sega Genesis with all my favorite games (ROMs) and yeah i bought them once so it's not stealing...

He keeps staying in "no man's land", and he doesn't head back to the baseline when DK is about to do an overhead smash.
@knuddelwuschel lobs can be charged like any other shot. tap a once then spam b to charge. You can make drops more effective as well

MAX difficulty should also be known as the "Expert Plus" difficulty. It just all seems that the AI could barely even beat the pros.
