I have had my GTR for two months. I use mine for pool swimming and it is fantastic. Counts the strokes and laps very accurately. Love this watch. I was about to spend $1200 on Garmin watch which I would basically use just for swimming. Hard to get a sports watch for swimming at a decent price. On the GTR the battery lasts a month and it looks great. I purchased the chrome version which I think makes it look classy. I did not want a watch that played music or to take phone calls and the last thing I wanted was to read or respond to emails on a watch. I have a phone, ipad, laptop and computer that does all those things. When I exercise it is my time and do not want any interruptions. People who want a life should get the Amazfit GTR. Great price with quality build and it works extremely well. Do yourself a favour if you need a sports and watch get this. You will be so glad you did.
How did you swim? Did the leather strap get demaged because of water? Want to get it sooo bad but what about that? The only thing stoping me from buying it is the leather strap and the reaction with water
This watch does what i want for my phone as well. A really skinned down product delivering the functions i need and in return you get amazing battery life. I'd love a phone with the camera, operating system and processor from 3-4 generations ago, but with the newest battery life if not a bit better. The a phone would last a long time, and still provide great features. Unfortunately i've not phone that phone, which actually has decent quality
Absolutely love this watch. I had a full feature Wear OS watch , a Ticwatch E and I had to charge it everyday, even if I didn’t use it a lot during the day. Yes it had WiFi, storage, phone call support, a Google Store and so on, but the poor battery life was a pain. On the other hand this Amazfit has exactly what I use on my daily usage: a watch, notifications, support for music control, gps, heart rate, sleep assistant and weather forecasts... and I bought it on the 28th October: it’s now 7th December , I have charged it on the fist day and only once after that. Current battery is at 30%. I can only say that I love this battery life . Yes, it is a bit laggy on the animations, yes it’s a bit limited on some (useless) features but this is exactly the watch I was looking for. Far from perfect, yes, but stylish, stable, simple and lasting
Tech4All : only complain I have about the watch is when I’m recording an activity I cannot use the music controls. Apart from that I’d say I’m 100% happy with it
I never understood call features and app featues. I want to see the time, see if I get a notification that is interesting enough to grab my phone, some fitness capabilities and control my music.

Get it if you love battery life. I love mine. 21 days and still has 49% batt, (updated). Lol. You get messages from your phone. Great fitness related stuff. We all have phones for a reason. 100 satisfied!
The notifications will activate the the display or just vibrate like Huawei Watch GT2 does? Also are the emoticons shown or not in a message? Can you dimiss the notification or just see it and that's it? Thanks in advance for the reply!

Thanks for all your review. Recently I was able to compair the Amazfit GTR and the Mi Wach Color. Since I do some running, 40 k on a weekly basis, I was especially interested in the use as a activity tracker when running. And there I noticed something that I did not like, on both of them: the speed indication is very unstable. When running at a steady pace, the speed or pace indication is fluctuating within a 30% range every few seconds, making it impossible to get a reliable indication of your actual speed. Which is quite important when you take your training serious. I had a Bip before, which had a bit of the same issue. But not as bad as these newer watches. Dids you have the same experience?
I have the same experience with the GTR2. Haven't tried the Mi watch yet - currently something that I test and will share that soon enough. Guess one of the good options for you would be Garmin. Or maybe checking whether the Amazfit Stratos 3 has the same behavior.

The GTR has GPS in-built, which is a huge advantage in my opinion. Especially if you plan to do outdoor workouts. The notifications are fine. Galaxy Fit 2 has the edge here, because you can use predefined answers. That's quite nice. As for battery life - the GTR is a recognized champion about this.

It locks signal within 30 seconds, sometimes - even less. But I've seen some remarks about the accuracy; Mine feels fine - but could be that there are some units with slightly inaccurate GPS. Check the facebook Amazfit international group.
there is a contradiction in what you said around min 9:00: when you were collaborating with them, you received support immediately. Now that you send a request as a normal customer they didn't....surprize, wellcome in the real world :D In any case excellent review.

Hmm, that will be a difficult combination. Wearos may give you more configuration features, but is generally poor at fitness measuring... That's why Apple has easy time with being a market leader.
If you don’t mind charging the watch very often yes, this one is not for you... but some of the lacking features are not that important to many people like me:texting in such small screens is awful, using it as a phone speaker is a pain, storing music on the watch is ridiculous (everyone uses music streaming these days)

Thank you for that! I can see that official sales start at early November, so likely it won't appear before December - I usually don't rush with testing such popular models. And there will be a lot of unboxing/first impression videos until then.
I had this watch for a week and sold it because the unfixed GPS problem. Because the support was not helpful I was very distance with the company. This brand is promising but need to improve a lot in terms of approach to their customers. The gps problem is very well known on social media and they have been keep promising with the next update but never arrived.
I like my watch simple but last longer because i don't need another smart phone on my wrist. The only thing i wish it had was the ability to answer texts.
The heart rate monitor is not too bad and about on par with most wrist based watches. The GPS is accurate enough but unless you need pin point accuracy I think its fine. It connect as quickly as my Garmin Vivoactive 3. It will sync with Strava through the Amazfit app on Android and IOS and Google Fit through the Mi-Fit app on Android only. The battery life is amazing and for the price is great value.
The real big problem with this GTR is that GPS takes a lot, very badly. Other smartWatches take very well in the same area and at the same time when this just isn't right. It was to be highlighted, it is a well-known thing ...
It seems to affect just some units. I've seen a lot of comments about it, and it is a pity that it is still not well fixed. There were a few firmware updates that were supposed to help. I think mine is tracking pretty accurately.

Oh! That would be tough. If you think Garmin has mediocre quality, I am a bit reluctant to recommend anything :) But you may check Stratos 3 by Amazfit.
What kind of issues don't they raise? Like the support and the HR sensor? Probably they've had none of them. I haven't had GPS problems, but apparently many people do...
Not really the same kind of watches... different approaches , difference styles... if it’s for the looks , battery life and price , the Amazfit is the best. For everything else , probably the Apple Wacth

It was pretty accurate on my end. Didn't notice any deviations from Amazfit Stratos. I've seen a lot of complaints about the GPS, but mine seems to be fine too.
Wish that i would have seen this review before i bought the GTR. Stratos 3 is much better but by the time i decided- there was not available at shops due to Wuhan virus! Well, nothing i can do about it now :) And, yes you are right, " It is not smart enough" . it takes ages to activate GPS and gps data is not so accurate! Those who want to buy Amazefit Watch, i would suggest you buy Stratos3. Cheers

That wouldn't be fair - I really want to see how companies treat their normal customers. This is why I usually use a personal email when getting in touch with these companies for support. But yeah - otherwise they may have been more involved in the matter 🙃
I feel that you are biased on this product simply because xiaomi didn't reposond to your defective device. While you are right that they should replace it, the stratos 2 that you hyped so much doesn't have anything special over this, it costs more and the battery is a joke compared to the gtr. The gtr also looks better and has a better amoled display.
The Stratos doesn't support more features? It supports external bluetooth devices; supports playback of music from local storage; supports adding GPX tracks, supports transferring files, supports showing altitude and more information in sports. I can continue.. :-) The GTR is pretty much the same as the Huawei Watch GT. ANd while I totally love its outlook - it doesn't really offer anything special except for the battery life. Which is the beauty of it 😇 Don't get me wrong - I very much like it - but cannot see it in the light of a game-changer.
GPS is terrible, nothing to compare with previous amazfit devices, its not useful as a sport watch, I am disappointed. the only prons are long battery life and nice design
Yeah, quite a summary; It is a sort of expected the GPS to not be perfect, knowing about the conservative battery consumption. Sadly, Amazfit don't seem to innovate. Let's hope there will be a true successor to the Pace/Stratos series.

Why are you NOT honest and say the full truth about this watch? Its GPS tracking is terrible: from time to first fix, to failing to lock on to a GPS signal, constantly loosing the GPS signal and finally inaccurate GPS tracking -- it shows me walking through walls or walking on water in the middle of a river bed! Do not buy this watch.
Stanisha - I can borrow you mine - its GPS accuracy is quite alright and I haven't experienced these issues. Closely monitoring the international Amazfit groups and noticed lots of people complaining about the same. Hopefully a firmware update will make it better.
Nah, I only use call notifications and Whatsapp notifications and I got 29 days on my first cycle. The faulty GTR is staying on my desk and is now close to two months. Unbelievable!

Me neither until I once got a phone call in the shower for something quite urgent. But generally I also favor basic usage.
I am using this watch for 7 days. Its great to use. More usability, less gimmicks. Thats what most of the users need.

By the time I was testing it there was no option. Not sure if there's any change now. The GTR2 has a few different options.

I had this watch for a week and sold it because the unfixed GPS problem. Because the support was not helpful I was very distance with the company. This brand is promising but need to improve a lot in terms of approach to their customers. The gps problem is very well known on social media and they have been keep promising with the next update but never arrived.

I like my watch simple but last longer because i don't need another smart phone on my wrist. The only thing i wish it had was the ability to answer texts.
The newer GTR models support this.
how accurate is the heart rate and GPS tracking while you're running? does the data sync to Google fit or Samsung health or anything like that?
The heart rate monitor is not too bad and about on par with most wrist based watches. The GPS is accurate enough but unless you need pin point accuracy I think its fine. It connect as quickly as my Garmin Vivoactive 3. It will sync with Strava through the Amazfit app on Android and IOS and Google Fit through the Mi-Fit app on Android only. The battery life is amazing and for the price is great value.
Does it support Bluetooth call ??
It doesn't. has no speaker, unfortuantely.

The real big problem with this GTR is that GPS takes a lot, very badly.
Other smartWatches take very well in the same area and at the same time when this just isn't right.
It was to be highlighted, it is a well-known thing ...
It seems to affect just some units. I've seen a lot of comments about it, and it is a pity that it is still not well fixed. There were a few firmware updates that were supposed to help.
I think mine is tracking pretty accurately.

If battery life is priority - then GT2. If you need more smart functions - the Galaxy Watches are awesome.

The only serious difference is on the outside. Both are very, very similar. Battery life is better with the GTR.

Depends on the point of view 😇. It is not as fast as Samsung Galaxy Active 2. But definitely not too laggy.

Getting a smartwatch with gps, puls, running features and MAP (gpx) features..., that is not as stupid expensive as ex. Garmin (Garmin = mediocre quality), what then to get ?
Oh! That would be tough. If you think Garmin has mediocre quality, I am a bit reluctant to recommend anything :)

What kind of issues don't they raise? Like the support and the HR sensor? Probably they've had none of them. I haven't had GPS problems, but apparently many people do...

The Apple Watch is a great one! Especially if you have iPhone already.
Not really the same kind of watches... different approaches , difference styles... if it’s for the looks , battery life and price , the Amazfit is the best. For everything else , probably the Apple Wacth
I still like my gtr, but gps tracking is a piece of... crap... :( most of my cycling log was rubbish. I can't trust in GTR when I'm logging my bike rides. Can onone of you recommend a watch with OLED screen and reliable gsp tracking functionality? Amazfit Stratos was a fine watch, but i hate its screen in low light, that's why I changed to GTR, but the gps in it is untrustable.. :(
I use a lot the Huawei Watch GT2 and MagicWatch 2 and both are pretty accurate.
If this is not a smartwatch then, Please suggest which one is a smartwatch.
Devices based on WearOS are "smarter" in many ways. Check the latest Ticwatch devices.
you didn't talk about accuracy. fitness accuracy in this watch is inaccurate especially heart rate sensor
It was pretty accurate on my end. Didn't notice any deviations from Amazfit Stratos.
I've seen a lot of complaints about the GPS, but mine seems to be fine too.

Wish that i would have seen this review before i bought the GTR. Stratos 3 is much better but by the time i decided- there was not available at shops due to Wuhan virus! Well, nothing i can do about it now :) And, yes you are right, " It is not smart enough" . it takes ages to activate GPS and gps data is not so accurate! Those who want to buy Amazefit Watch, i would suggest you buy Stratos3. Cheers

The Ticwatch Pro is close to that range; The Ticwatch S2 and C2 are nice as well.
@@TechMishka Ticwatch is not compatible with all android devices. Had a lot of problems with it disconnecting all the time, and then not wating to pair anymore with a xioami redmi note 7.

everything seems great, especially battery and look, but GPS. No NFC payment! I dont mind paying for a Sratos but its too big for a lady.
True that, the stratos feels bigger. And is already a little outdated. So that one is a pretty good fit 😊
I feel that you are biased on this product simply because xiaomi didn't reposond to your defective device. While you are right that they should replace it, the stratos 2 that you hyped so much doesn't have anything special over this, it costs more and the battery is a joke compared to the gtr. The gtr also looks better and has a better amoled display.
The Stratos doesn't support more features? It supports external bluetooth devices; supports playback of music from local storage; supports adding GPX tracks, supports transferring files, supports showing altitude and more information in sports. I can continue.. :-) The GTR is pretty much the same as the Huawei Watch GT. ANd while I totally love its outlook - it doesn't really offer anything special except for the battery life. Which is the beauty of it 😇 Don't get me wrong - I very much like it - but cannot see it in the light of a game-changer.

GPS is terrible, nothing to compare with previous amazfit devices, its not useful as a sport watch, I am disappointed. the only prons are long battery life and nice design
Yeah, quite a summary; It is a sort of expected the GPS to not be perfect, knowing about the conservative battery consumption. Sadly, Amazfit don't seem to innovate. Let's hope there will be a true successor to the Pace/Stratos series.

Why are you NOT honest and say the full truth about this watch? Its GPS tracking is terrible: from time to first fix, to failing to lock on to a GPS signal, constantly loosing the GPS signal and finally inaccurate GPS tracking -- it shows me walking through walls or walking on water in the middle of a river bed! Do not buy this watch.
Stanisha - I can borrow you mine - its GPS accuracy is quite alright and I haven't experienced these issues. Closely monitoring the international Amazfit groups and noticed lots of people complaining about the same. Hopefully a firmware update will make it better.

Nah, I only use call notifications and Whatsapp notifications and I got 29 days on my first cycle. The faulty GTR is staying on my desk and is now close to two months. Unbelievable!
