I love my Night train too. Not a scratch on it, not a drop of oil anywhere. 45,000 miles. I've had her 6 years an only replaced the battery n tires, oil.
Awesome man! I just bought a 2000 night train with 2500 miles on it. Been setting for a long time. Working on it now to get it running and road worthy.
Lovely mate! Many old guys told me how good the evos were and back then I never listened. I once talked to an old bloke who had a '99 night train and said how special it was for this reason. Only now do I realise what he was talking about. I have a '94 bad boy evo, and a '07 Fatboy, both great bikes in their own right, but the evo's just have that special feel to them, love the vibes, the torque. A stock 80 cube motor is a very fine thing. Love the channel mate, all the best from West Oz, Geoff
I have a silver pearl 1999 FXSTC, last evo with a carby and I fucking love it! I can fire it up and ride all day any day, best bike on the planet! For me anyway......
I managed to get my hands on one a few months back here in Australia. Absolutely obsessed with it. Very well looked after. Most of them seem to have been very well kept.
I love my Night Train but have my lower forks an pipes black. I hate my seat I’m 130 lbs an my seat was made for a 300lb butt lol. I call it my couch I hate it. Mines an 2002 an very clean like this one. Never been kept outdoors. My drag bars had just enough room to add kuryakn sound system. I’ve also have green underglow that I love being the bike an all my clothes are black. I’m well lit up. Enjoy the Night Train, I certainly do. 6 years an not a problem with it.
Hey Todd, I know this is an old video but I have recently got one of these in Australia. When you say they supposedly made two per dealer, would that have been in the USA only or for overseas dealerships also? I’m trying to get a rough total number on how many were made. I keep finding markings from yellow wax crayon under the dash, on the frame back bone and some others places on the bike reading the number 64, Would these numbers be indicative of production line build numbers? Being not a very commonly found bike I like to gather as much information as possible.
I'm not quite sure what your hearing that could be described as a whistling sound. This is a narrow street with my large tall building on one side and a tall metal fence on the other. Some times this creates an echo sound effect on the motor, especially with stock exhaust. Some roads do this also.
HuntingHarleys, Sorry for such stupid question. I mean.. When you leave the throttle and braking by the engine, some bikes make a strange noise. Like a whistle. I can't understand what it is. I usually heard it on old honda cruiser bikes, and now hear it on you harley's. Is it normal sound?
Needs to be lowered in the rear. Another seat, add some pipes, a new open breather and ign upgrade and a few other little do dads and you'd have a nice machine.
What an amazing Evo engine sweetheart of a bike. Simple. Non flashy. Quiet. Thanks for sharing.

Never seen one in person that has to be one of the rarest softails in person most people I talk to don’t even know they made a evo night train

I bought a new 2000 Night Train. Looked identical except it was a Twin Cam.
Same here.
My father in law has the same bike and the mounting for the blinkers are stock. That's just how they came
I've got a 98 FXDS that rides great. Love having a carb vs. a EFI bike. EVO's are so easy to care for. That Night train is awesome. keep it up.

Write the Harley Davidson archives. They should be able to answer those questions
@@HuntingHarleys thanks for the advice mate. I appreciate it.
Dear Todd. Can you tell what is the whistling sound on this bike when you throw the throttle? 5:29

+Tony Kei whatever your hearing on this machine is normal
Needs after market pipes badly make it loud AF
Everyone puts on their preferred pipes. When you get old, stock all of a sudden sounds wonderful
@@HuntingHarleys I am old haha still love loud pipes got straight pipes on my ram as well as my harley no baffles
no kick start ..... dammit
That Evo sure looks like TC
Claire Redfield has a 1998 model in the RE2 remake

Do you know if the motor is stock or has it been modified? What are you asking?
Do you need a néw Primary tensioner shoe?? Sounds horrible.
Sold years ago. Never opened the primary so can't say
One of my bikes from around the same time has that same ugly solid alloy wheel on the back...
Easy to clean
