Nothing against Keenan, he is a great grappler but I think the fact that he was one of the favourites in the competition, the judges were bias towards putting him through. It's a subjective thing and many other people thought this was a match could have been given to Kit Dale instead too.
Martin Horton The judges handed out the "hall pass," not Kit Dale. Anytime a match is close they tend to lean towards the person who is most popular. Keenan was more known in the US than Kit and that's what gave him the edge. It would be interesting to see how Keenan viewed the match and result because I'd be surprise if he thought it was any less than too close for him to feel confident of the win.
I hate watching matches where guys stall and ride out on advantages, kit kept pressure applied the whole time, Keenan laid down and let kit run the pace...and Keenan wins, it's fucking lunacy, bring back submission only!
It's stupid to state Kit won this. He took more initiative, yes, but he kind of had to since Keenan was ahead on points. He couldn't control Keenan so he lost the match. Keenan just had to wait it out and did so succesfully. If you're talking about your preferation for a submission-only tournament by being "disgusted by this type of Jiu-Jitsu" - a.k.a. the point system, then a draw would be more logical than claiming Kit 'really had won this match'... Neither athlete got submitted. But since there IS a point system here, so the game's different and Keenan won because he had the most points.
the question is: does KC's b.jiu itsu still b.jiu jitsu. ? For me it's just boring: no attack, no powerfulness, very rarely submission. This is the mode of berimbolo's and it's not a strongly bjj it should be. BJJ must become again a combat sport, a street fight sport, and not a fight-dance as it is taking the way right now. Fareed N. I agree there is a huge difference between sports competition BJJ and street fighting. I think the way the sport has gone with gaining points for a particular dance move/position has removed a lot of its combative reality. On the flip side it has grown the acceptance of jujitsu in a big way. The other thing that makes me laugh is collecting badges to stick on pyjamas.
Thanks for the flash back…..many years ago I complimented a group of guys at a gym on their break dance moves because I thought they were very athletic. They politely replied with disappointing looks on their faces that they were training Capoeira. Maybe I went to far when I asked how well they fought without MP3 players?
Keenan Has 63% of his victories in profissional jiu jitsu by submission. He has 107 subs in his career. Just because he can't sub the 10 top other guys in hes categorys, don't means that he cant sub the other 99% of the people. You guys are just blaming the guy for not sub the 0.1% best grapplers in the world. Fuck off.
The commentators first say, who don't know keenan don't know much about bjj, only to ask who is kit dale at a later moment? lol
Kit's mustache clearly won.
Very close match but I think Keenan got a hall pass. Kit looked to be in control more often than Keenan.
Then Kit should be more careful in terms of giving away those 'hall passes'

Kit dale is awesome, best in Australia but u can c the frustration on his face cos KC's spider guard and de la hiva keep tying him up. Good match.

exactly winning on advantages mean jack shit.
this should have been the finals
Kit Dale looking like Tom Hardy in Bronson here.
0:29??? If anyone knows his opponent?? LOL Kit Dale is well known. Jesus come on.
this was before his videos etc that made him famous.
obviously not keenan would destroy him nowadays
i wish kit dale would come to the academy i train at and give us a seminar

Keenan is Keenan but this guy from Australia is the best in his country! I think he surprised Keenan and everyone.
Keenan's leg is hook shaped from all that de la riva
Kit Dale is a beast.
lol when you have nothing good to say...compliment the mustache! haha
keenan should be black belt ... a long time ago
Keenan 6ft 3 and kit dale is lime 5ft 7 so for me kit is at a big disadvantage size makes a big diffrence and kit held his own well done
ohh... it makes sense now, thx 4 explanation ;)
by ibjjf rules, he cant compete as a black belt till he has had his brown for at least 1 year. i think he earned his brown dec 2012.
thought he was fucked at 2:10, then he just went beast mode 10 seconds later
Kit is a beast
Am I the only one who is disgusted by this type of Jiu-Jitsu. Kit Dale won this match
