The Dalai Lama is such a wonderful man. I went to see him in Portland, Oregon years ago, in the 90s. His good humor and wisdom pervaded this audience of thousands. He had a positive effect on everyone in the room. He also said that no matter what one's religion, one does not need to change religions and he hoped that his principles of goodness, kindness and understanding would be of help to anyone of any faith.
I have so much comfort to realize that this beautiful human being is sharing this time on Earth with me. We are so blessed with his presence and wisdom.
His holiness is the most greatest example for humanity .his patience towards chinese invaders are unbelievable . Blessings my man, I love Buddhism, I feel like it’s not only the nose beneficial religion for ones self, but the world as a whole. I’m a soldier, an infantry soldier, but I believe my profession should only be used in existential situations and only in ethically justified ways. I feel like the world needs to be more aware of or exposed to Buddhism and it’s principals, everyone nowadays is an extremist, I feel like if people actually acknowledge the noble truths and follow the path, there would be almost no conflict in the world. But they don’t, and I know people have their own justification for what they do. It just makes me sad knowing people can be overly violent in situations violence isn’t necessary.

It's heartbreaking to see children in Gaza being bombed. It makes me cry when people try to justify it and their lack of compassion hurts. I wish they'd understand, like His Holiness says, that violence only brings more fear, more hate and more violence. But some people are just too caught up in their own fear and hate to see it.

Meat, milk, and eggs aren't food, it's violence. Animal abuse isn't nonviolence or ahimsa. It's ahimsa to treat animals and everyone with kindness, respect and let them live. It's their planet.
That’s why it’s done though the “hurting people” it’s to ensure psychological damage over generations. You can ignore the psychological though to overcome it and that’s what the species is too passive to realize they don’t use the logical part of the brain they’re too emotional that’s why they feel a need to depend on things like addiction not independent enough. When people start showing more independence the assaults would have to wind down.
Was walking by a very heated altercation today. I managed to de-escalate the situation. The man who was getting really hot headed was being provoked and did not feel respected and there was a gay man sexually provoking him which made him even more irate 😢 after going to the police, we sat down at his place and he wanted to know about meditation. So I looked some up in his area and there were plenty. I made a list for him. He knows not to react next time and if the neighbours have shitty nappies next to his home with the smell wafting in or park in the driveway, he needs to call the council for them to sort it out. There is always a solution and it begins with respect for one another. If neighbours are not willing to respect or help one another then mediation is the next best thing. There is definitely a peaceful way ❤
Yes i agree... But what if others reminds others of their mistakes, etc.. When people where in bad situations, and when they where not there or like, really should look for just that and try to see the good things also, and maybe try to understand... Or helped out in real life when it happened personally. Maybe.. etc. Thanks for your wisdom. Meditation is a good thing. Long live. Also, people can help others avoid the same mistakes, etc. Maybe shared resources for better living standards and such.. helped out personally in those ways maybe. Depends, for instance, there is a part in the bible that states hate everything in this world - your mother, father even your very own self, but that actually tells one how to “properly” detach yourself from this world, so its the context what really matters
Usually, the religion they claim to be a part of doesn't actually teach hate. Like Muslims, for example, are badly frustrated with the public image of Islam because of militant groups that claim to be Islamic. It's just that people often take little bits and pieces of a certain religion that to them seem to remotely justify the killing and hating and oppressing, and they use those misinterpreted bits and pieces as perceived justification for their killing and harming that they do. Often, a religion people claim to be a part of - they're not actually following the precepts and rules of that religion properly.

Depends, for instance, there is a part in the bible that states hate everything in this world - your mother, father even your very own self, but that actually tells one how to “properly” detach yourself from this world, so its the context what really matters
Usually, the religion they claim to be a part of doesn't actually teach hate. Like Muslims, for example, are badly frustrated with the public image of Islam because of militant groups that claim to be Islamic. It's just that people often take little bits and pieces of a certain religion that to them seem to remotely justify the killing and hating and oppressing, and they use those misinterpreted bits and pieces as perceived justification for their killing and harming that they do.
Often, a religion people claim to be a part of - they're not actually following the precepts and rules of that religion properly.
