  • 🔴 How To Slim The Sides of a T-Shirt 🔴 - • Your T-Shirts Will Fit...
    The most annoying thing about t-shirts is when the sleeves are TOO BAGGY. It can honestly ruin a perfectly good shirt. The solution isn't to go and grow your arms, no just make the sleeves tighter by sewing them by hand! You can use a sewing machine for this sure but it's just as easy to do by hand as well.
    All you need is a needle and thread. Start by pinching how much you want to take off. In the video I pinched too much so I took a bit less off. Move around too and make sure it's comfortable. Once you have the right fit use a sewing pin or a clothes pin to mark that spot. This is easier with someone to help you but my friends all make fun of me for making sewing videos, so they wouldn't help. I'm sure you will have better luck than me.
    Once you've got your spot marked measure the amount you're taking off, and mark it from there down towards your armpit seam.
    Ever sewed a backstitch? It's super strong! Thats what you want to use. It won't be PERFECT, don't beat yourself up over it, seriously! I've tailored so many things that had minor imperfections that I still loved in the end. The same thing will happen for you.

    For those new to sewing... he forgot to mention that after you measure you need to turn the shirt inside-out. That way your seams won't show when you're done sewing. (Nice tutorial though. Great work.)

    Thanks for the video, man! I'm ready to try this out but I'm not sure of one thing. I've seen other videos where you do back stitching with the sewing machine to prevent the thread from coming loose over time. How do we do this with manual sewing? Should I tie a knot with the thread at the end? Thanks

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So if your machine doesn't have a backstitch setting then you can actually just reverse the direction of your garment 180 degrees and then sew a few stitches forward, then rotate it back and stitch a few more stitches. Does that make sense?

    • @paulocoelho55
      @paulocoelho55 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@StylishDTailors That's great to know, thanks! My only question is how do I achieve that when manually sewing (without a machine) a shirt like you did in this video? I'm not sure what to do once I sew through to the end of the sleeve. Should I do a back stitch similar to how we do with the machine?

    How could you do this to your loyal fans? I mean, really? In just two minutes you highlight the biggest failing that so many suffer across the globe. Not ill-fitting T-shirts but floppy arms! Admit it SD you are fresh from the gym with those pumped triceps of yours, it's never about loose sleeves but excess flesh. I must tried harder. 😅

    Isn't there some kind of clamp out here we can use on all our t-shirts? I can't be sewing 25 t-shirts bruh.
