Good news, we found a buyer for the house! A lot of you know that I started content work and my plant studies when i lived in my dad’s home.
We even had a tour video there once, 2 years ago (link below):

This time we are back, filming in higher resolution 4K to see his impressive cycad and encephalartos collection. Dad has also changed his landscaping so we get to see some updates there as well. In this casual tour, we bid farewell to the house and his plant collection, as the new owner will take over the house entirely, including the plants.
In my personal channel, I do a house tour video, sharing personal stories and experience in the house as I take you room to room. This episode also serve to immortalize the house, so I remember it years down the road.

What an incredible home! I feel the same way about our childhood home, it was an 8 bedroom split level home on 4 acres of fruit orchard trees, our horses there too, it was a dream to grow up there. I still miss it all the time 😢

Your old house is seriously heavenly... look at that lake at the back. It suddenly feels like Indo version of Sound of Music... 😅 but thanks for bringing us around your old home one last time and kudos to your dad too. I will miss seeing it too since I am now into Encephalartos too. Lol.

@onlyplants I have only tiny ones now and they grow at turtle speed. Lol. Hence still manageable. I don't mind their speed since I have yet to have the space. 😆So enjoying them as they grow.

I remember your old videos on the balcony Sean. This must feel so sad to leave such a glorious place. Figured it was large, but this is a palace. WOW, the view by the 2 trees looking out is stunning. Sure hope the new owners have knowledgeable gardeners. Was just explaining to someone the other day about how special Cycads are and how they need to be cherished and protected. They are one of the most illegally poached & illegally traded plants in the world. I hope your parents enjoy their new house and make more good memories. Love & light from California ❤
Thank you. My dad has actually propagated many of the cycads. They do produce offsets that are separated. There must be about 100 of them produced in the last 10 years. Sadly we left most of them behind. I hope the cycads bounce back in the wild! More people are propagating them too I believe.

I really hope that whoever bought it, bought it because of their love of plants and then of course because of the beautiful house. I couldn't imagine leaving all those babies behind though. How sad. Hopefully he's taking some goodies with him

Your video got me tear up. We sold our late father's house for me and my mom's financial support reason and we had to leave behind some plants but unlikely new owner will care for it as he's gonna renovate the half a century old house. I could only bring about 20 pots of my mom's orchids, roses, cactus etc to new place but currently under the care of our old neighbours. The rest of other larger plants are given away to other neighbours which makes my mom feel better. From landed to apartment, I need to learn how to decor interior with plants as we no longer have the luxury of a balcony though there's a small common corridor for some outdoor plants.

In the beginning of the video, you referred to a blue plant in the middle of the square planter as an encephalartos Lehmanii. It is a macrozamia McDonnellii. Very rare and valuable. It is from Australia and very restricted.

Second blue plant is not Encephalartos Lemannii but Macrozamia MacDonellii, an Australian native Cycad from Central Australia (MacDonell Ranges)

We have no space to keep them, and my dad wants to travel more and have less burden. Its a very peaceful and necessary transition I think.
@@onlyplants I totally get that. I've actually been in the process of offloading 90% of my plants over the past year. I want to travel more too! Plus I've planted a lot of my plants in the ground. I feel like I can see them sigh a big sigh of relieve to finally escape those pots, lol. I get it!
