Excellent integration of the crop tool to keep her from moving too far in front and to keep her focused on looking up at you. Clear communication and instruction to us all too. Thank you for this wonder instructional video!
AWESOME as usual your videos are excellent without excess fake tricks. It's also relaxing to listen to your voice when most of TH-cam's yammering like a bunch of crazy people. Thank you and Janet and God Bless y'all. Much love from Texas 🙃☕🙏💖😇💖🇺🇸💖
Hello! I recently came across your channel. I'm binge watching your videos! I will be bringing home my first GSD puppy at the end of May. Question: Are you using two separate words, as in "Fuss" for focus heel and then "heel" for loose leash walking?
Awesome stuff Robert! Could you possibly do a similar video and maybe even others about how to train differently-abled dogs like blind/deaf dogs to do these heels and other commands? I’m adopting a blind husky/german Shepard and I would love a few tips and I know a lot of other people could probably use them too :)
Love Maya's chattering, is this considered a penalty in a trial if she chatters excessively ? Also thanks for the left turn, right turn tip, never really thought of it that way. Will practice more, my dog tends to get ahead of me.
I am interested in joining your online program. I have a 5 month old Dogo Argentino who is very HYPER but also pretty smart. We house broke him at 12 weeks old,
I do two different training classes with my doby pup and he walks on my right. But I'm not allowed to take any exams, which doesn't bother me as my previous dobies had loads of medals and stuff. I only do classes for socialising the real training in done in the real world 😃
Hello Robert, I have a question regarding my Malinois "Obelix" when i do this type of heel training and then give him the toy and camping with him. but when i do that he tries to change his bite all the time closer to my hands so i have to move my hands so he doesn't bite me he doesn't do that onn pupose ofc but do you have any idea why he alwasy try to change his bite when im playing with him.?
not sure if someone will read this.. but how can I teach my dog to stay no matter what.. no matter if some other dog is visible or people call him etc... my dog is 16 month old and thats the biggest issue that he goes for other dogs even tho I told him to sit
Again great content Robert! Good job :) A small non related question. In a lot of positive only circles I read the opinion that there are no dominant dogs. Just dominant behaviour. What is your opinion on that?
That's correct. The dominance theory has been disproven for quite some time, including from the guy that it originated from. In packs, dogs can take on different roles at different times, even sometimes based on their moods.
@@treatsandleashes1284 Interesting! But I guess you can still speak from dominant breeds? Breeds that tend to have more dominant behaviour then other breeds?
@@vissert2841 There are more assertive breeds and personalities just as there are more timid, fearful, aggressive, or any other trait - just like there are people. It's not about "dominating" anything...
I am certain that the moment I start using this tool, some neighbors will say I'm hurting the dog. I can actually go to prison if my actions get missinterpreted. I tend to correct my dogs with a choke leash and I'm always aware of my surroundings.
@@RobertCabralDogs will check them out. Gonna be a problem with a way too intelligent boerboel that has a bad habit of stepping on me intentionally with his front paws. Should have never taught him to say hi.

What is the toy in the video?

I just joined. Thank you for the reply. He is very stubborn on the “down” command. Do you recommend a Ecollar ?
The way maya looks at you is what I want the most.
Hey thanks for the video is okay to have my dog heal on the right side of me thanks?
for personal reasons, yes.... but in trials it's required to have the dog on the left!

Thanks, but this is more like polishing the heel than teaching the heel.
Thats why it says heel competition style not heel beginner style
Love seeing Maya again, what a beautiful lady!
What do I do if my dog gets jumpy for the toy while heeling?
What If my dog isn’t interested in toys ?
Hey Robert, help me.
Do you have any book about retrieving for recomendation. I want to learn about it but i don't find any complete biograf.
I have great videos on retrieve training!

dogs are pack animals, from what I understand theirs always a leader and the rest follow. I could be wrong.
