Looked sealed but why take all 3 chases don't think they let just anybody do that they should come with sticker on cards so u know 4 sure like the year box
Man this was absolutely brutal to watch. Thankfully you opened them up so you know they were tampered with. Imagine if you had kept them sealed not knowing. Absolutely horrible regardless do what you gotta do to get your money back.
I wish you did more peg hunting videos. That is some of my favorite content and have been doing a lot myself lately. Stay warm up there in Canada, Phil.
My guess would be that it happened in the factory. Everything looks sealed well. The seller could have no idea. In mass-production factories usually, there is a production vault for some copies of products (cars, in this case) they ever produced, A) for complaint purposes, if a manufacturing error happens; B) for future reference if a re-run is to be planned. But as too many copies of cars are lying around, there might be some people starting to think to make use of them and sneak a few around. That might be the case here as Chases were taken out from the final assembly line for packaging and Chases were taken out from the factory to eBay. Remember these workers probably do not get paid well in 3rd world countries...I have heard similar stories before. Should the seller really want to scam you, he would probably taken out that skyline that is worth 200 dollars...
Damn man, you got me tempted to open the 2 cases I ordered to make sure everything in them is correct! I got cases 1/4 and 3/4, so I hope nothing is switched around or damaged. [Edit] Did you by chance purchase these on Walmarts website whenever they were in stock? That's how I got mine
I purchased them from a private seller but they were factory sealed. Personally I think they were tampered with at the factory. I think you should open yours.
@@PeakTimeRacing that's what I noticed too, I seen the factory sealed sticker looked intact on your boxes. But the fact some of the contents were totally different has me thinking it could be the same for me also. I'll open them later today and give an update!
Don’t buy anything at Walmart they take everything that’s valuable since Walmart are mixed together w another company from China which is known to scam ppl and Walmart does NOTHING if you want a refund.
That’s the problem with collectibles worth $200-300 each; they’re a month’s wages to those factory workers. And from what I’ve been told Mattel don’t care.
The Dragstrip is definitely my favorite set out of all of them. I never found it though. The one I do have has my fav Hyper car of all time and that's Jay Leno's garage. It is very unfortunate when you spend good money expecting certain cars, but you did do a live unboxing there is proof they screwed with your case. Who has to answer? Your seller or Mattel. That's up to you, but I would contact both and show them the video. I still recall when you got mega scammed with those mystery car packs.
Mattek does itself no favors with how it currently does business. Wou.d collect myself but shipping costs are unreasonable and are no local venders, save for walmart.
After watching this video several times, the box is not tamper proof as long as that holographic seal isn't protecting the case from being opened, the foil seal should have to be sliced open on that lip instead of opening attached to the little flap. The rest is just tape you sliced but the holographic seal should be the security seal insuring it's factory sealed, they did the same thing with the football card frenzy the last few years.
Looks like you can get in the bottom of box easy. Any tape a little isopropyl myristate will remove with no residue - just dab w/Q Tip. Mattel would reimburse if bought from them so it's the re-seller whether dirty or not should make it right. 👀
At least they gave you a Nissan skyline wagon....and not another peg warming tank car .. usually if someone's going to go through the trouble to take out a piece they either don't put anything else in it
Wow. You really paid top dollar, you did get some nice cars, though. And transports. I am currently awaiting my first mail order case as i am new to the hobby. Lol . After i gave my friends kidds, a handful of hot wheels for christmas . Old ones i had kicking around from the 80s. Now i want to trade back for them. Lol. Because i gifted them. Live and learn as they say. Ayyy
What I have learned today from this video... If it does not come directly from Mattel, then it cannot be trusted to have what you pay for. Resellers are nothing more than scalpers.
@@AnekoF90 You are right, people should stop buying from scalpers... but I fear that the scalpers will continue to thrive because people covet things and some will do anything to obtain that one thing that eludes them even if they have to pay a higher price for it.
Not sure who the scammer was here. It could be anyone along the line of people who handled it. Not gonna project my ideas how as this hobby is full of people willing to do anything for a buck.
The yellow Mercedes Benz with the Fleet Flyer Flyer Team Transport is nice (and the Galaxy with it's Transport, have both Don't have the Nissan Silvia and it's hauler, likely snatched before I can get it)
See if you hadn't opened them you wouldn't have known it's a bummer. Saw in Walmart the other day a twin mill in a boulevard card where someone bought it changed it out and brought it back.
I've seen a TH-cam video showing you can use a heat gun to remove the factory seal and then seal it back. I was expecting it to be the Liberty Walk Skyline that was swapped.
If cases were pre-sealed, when were the chases taken out? Before it left the Hot Wheels/Mattel factory (a inside job)? Or did someone went to the trouble of carefully unsealing EACH of the boxes, taking the chases and then resealing the boxes hoping none will be the wiser? Was there any external evidence of tampering before you opened them? Sad that you spent good money, only to get less what you wanted!
@@bootlegcraig6525 Man that seems like a total design flaw/fail on Mattel's part then. Ugh. Good thing he opened them on camera. Of course they could come back and say he opened them from the bottom, replaced them, and tried to get away with it. I don't think that's what happened of course, but an update would be great on how this was resolved.
I feel the seller didn't.. why ? .. Bec why didn't he just take 1 the skyline library walf instead of the jay Leno chases .. but I didn't see the box that well maybe was opened .. before saying anything to seller ask them where did they get it first.. maybe from a different seller .. that's a good question factor / or seller . With everything going on I wouldn't put it pass the factory
I only own the silvia 15 Team Transport in which you showed and i coulf own the r34 team transport if only my mom bought it in time from Amazon (the 15 is also from Amazon)
Hey man love the videos and i've been watching for the past 5 ish years. How are you able to make your videos look so good and are there any tips for making diecast videos. Im trying to improve my channel and I thought I would ask you! Great vid keep up the great work
oh man, you are absolutely scammed by the seller, the nissan laurel team transport was from the early ones (to check the edition of team transport, you can see the number, and the number for nissan laurel is 2) while you should have gotten the red LBWK nissan skyline (no 44), definitely switched, bcs the red LBWK is priced so high (at least in my country), you definitely should request remedy from the seller
Mattel does a good job training new kids and adults to be greedy. No different than any other hyped up toys that will later become worthless. They're just cashing in while they can knowing new collectors will skip the Walmart category and just buy realistic 1/64 models like MiniGT and up.
Not if opened from bottom of box, no seals on bottom!!! Very easy to do if yer the type of person who would do something like that!!! Very sad jus screws up the hobby!! If I had to guess it was probably done by the person who sold that one box to the person who sold it to this person!!! Definitely a scalper reseller who had 6 year old cars laying around to switch with the ones they took!!

That's probably the calmest any can be after being scammed.
oh no my friend, I understand your pain, it’s a huge tragedy to find a chase version with a broken blister. Liked in support.
Similar happened to me years ago! Got the mainline factory sealed set. All the Supers were gone. Replaced with old vans, still sealed!
How did they do that?
I wish you did more peg hunting videos. That is some of my favorite content and have been doing a lot myself lately.

I like the cars
But the Mclaren ,Koansizegg,Lanborghini and the Bugatti

Cool to have a whole room just for shooting videos, cause you can keep all the gear ready! Those light panels are the Neewer ones?
