The Lions make the playoffs more often than they beat the Packers in Lambeau in January while also knocking the Packers out. As a Lions fan, of course this would have been even sweeter had we made the playoffs but beating the Packers twice in a season and especially in this fashion is even more special in some ways.

Colin has to stop saying the Lions had nothing to play for. Absolutely it would’ve been better to be playing for a playoff spot but having the chance to kick your rival who has beaten you down year after year out of the postseason is absolutely something to play for and we saw that tonight.

Words can’t describe how much I love Dan Campbell. No I’m not a lions fan and yes in the first press conference when he was talking about biting teams knee caps I cringed as hard as anyone but I am 1000% sure no coach in all of football cares about his team more than that man. He loves them and you can just tell how genuine it is.
I remember back to last season when they lost to the Vikings and Dan started tearing up in the press conference talking about how hard it is to see his team give everything they have and play with such heart to loss to that kicking mistake. That was the moment I knew Dan was the perfect fit for the Detroit lions. A man that has the fight in him like no other but has a deep emotional connection to his team.
Truth be told I don’t think anyone in the lions organization works harder than Dan on and off that field because of the passion he has for the sport and the love in his heart for these players but in press conferences when they win he doesn’t talk about how hard he’s working he talks about how hard the players work and when they loss he takes responsibility for the L while propping the players up which is how coaching should be.
If you asked anyone in that locker room if they have had a coach that loves and cares about them more than Dan does I don’t think anyone would say yes and it shows. Since Dan got this job the lions haven’t been even close to the most talented roster in the league but damnit they play with heart. And the reason they play with so much heart is because of their coach and how much they love him. Each and every player on that roster would go to bat for Campbell in a heartbeat because they know damn and well he would be the first to do the same for them.
I’m a die hard Patriots fan but as a fan of the sport seeing the lions miss playoffs broke my heart but I can’t wait to see what they do next year

Great comment, totally agree. He's not just what the Lions need, he's what Lions fans need. We had gotten SICK of seeing such extreme apathy from management, including coaches, while we suffered excruciatingly year after year. The Lions could have gone 5-12 this year, and most Lions fans would have still been patient for that alone, just to see a coach that truly cares like we do.

@@leonardobraynen1524 My opinion...the Goff of today would have played much better in that SB. Jared was young, inexperienced, lacking confidence and afraid to fail in that SB. And he was going up against a BB defense. In addition, it was McVays first trip to the party as a very young coach.
As a Rams fan, I was a bit sad they could not do more offensively in that SB, especially after getting a turnover early and not scoring after getting it.
I don't think Goff will regress after this season. From November on he was playing lights out and I think a top 5 QB...possibly the best QB in terms of rating from November to now.

The Packers had a great window the last few years including hosting the NFC championship game and Rogers couldn't get it done.
And then last year before the 49ers playoff game instead of being focused on the playoff game he's doing a big story on ESPN about his thoughts about the NFL's COVID rules.
And I remember the time thinking if I was a quarterback in that situation I wouldn't be entertaining questions other than the upcoming game against the 49ers.
But he seems far more concerned with sharing his opinions on those kinds of things.
The reality is Aaron Rodgers has had plenty of opportunities to get it done in Green Bay. And he has not.
And all throughout Tom Brady's career one of the main praises he's always gotten is how he usually didn't have the greatest weapons and yet made it to Super bowls. So I don't want to hear people defending Rogers by saying that he doesn't have enough talent.
They had number one seeds multiple times over the last 4 years and he had devante Adams and a solid roster and they couldn't get it done.
And if you take away the wild card playoff run in 2010 were they honestly didn't have the hardest of gauntlets, Rodgers never really got it done post season.

It is ridiculous how much passion and how many words are spent about teams with near .500 records fighting over the last playoff spot. The Seahawks will play one last game this year, and then hit the first tee. Chances are they don't win the Rams game absent the two horrifically bad calls towards the end of the game, and the bad non-call on top of the other two. Despite all the fuss about the Lions second-half comeback, they still would have been no match for the 49ers on the road. Upsets happen, so I guess the Seahawks still have hopium to get them through the coming week, but absent about 5 turnovers, they will lose to SF.

Not really... You're not passionate about your team? If your team won eight of the last 10 after starting 1-6, and got a great come from behind win on the road like the Lions did, you'd be mute about that? Teams play the game to win the super bowl, and you don't do that without making the playoffs. This was all about the playoffs, a pretty big deal. The way Green Bay was eliminated was exciting, it was a great game. It's really your comment that's ridiculous. If not for the greatest play ever made, the Arizona Cardinals, a near 500 team in '08, would have been super bowl champions, so that claim you made is bunk also.

There was an unnamed QB that had 1308 yards, 13 TDS, 3 INTs, 4 games with a QB rating over 100 in the last 6 games. Is it Dak? Is it Hurts? Is it Rodgers? Is it Herbert? Nope…it’s Brock Purdy. Yet experts keep saying he’s not that good. The experts also keep rating Bills, Bengals, Chiefs as the best teams. But if Purdy is putting up stats just as good on a (relatively) worse team, then wouldn’t that imply Purdy is playing better? Hmmmm. Also, the only reason Purdy threw for less yards is because the defense handed him a short field twice every game, so he doesn’t need to throw for so many yards. To be clear, I don’t believe Purdy is physically as talented as Mahomes, Allen, or Burrow, but I do believe he is mentally as talented as them. And his play is proving that out.

No. To choke is to lose to a significantly inferior team by making nervous or mental mistakes. By virtue of what football is it would be extremely difficult to constitute choking by anyone, unless the receiver is drop 10 passes right in their hands, the kicker misses three easy field goals, the team gets hit with a ridiculous amount of penalties, or something like that. The Packers did not exhibit any of those. The Lions simply outplayed them, own up. No way that loss could be attributed to choking.

Stop it. You could not be more wrong. Really bad take and no objectivity.
The packers are always in the superbowl conversation because of Aaron Rodgers but he fails to deliver and always disappoints in big spots. He should have had at least made the superbowl at least once in the last 4 seasons. Tom Brady made it twice, with two different teams, not to mention with an old and average Julian Edelman was his primary receiver in New England. while Aaron had Devante Adams at no1 and Allen Lazard no 2.
Brady did not get a guaranteed contract of $150 million like Aaron and was loud about retiring before signing his contract.
Tom Brady actually works out with this team in the off season. Aaron does not
Aaron had limitations this season but for a player of his level as you are saying, for a contract he has signed, he should have at least made the playoffs

@Dean Albertson The Packers did a bad job not surrounding Aaron Rodgers with a solid team for several seasons. Aaron always had an offensive line issue until last 3 seasons. The Packers drafted a QB instead of a solid WR, TE. I'll give you that. But it would surely be frustrating for his defense that Aaron plays a non-aggressive and conservative play-style in the playoffs since he barely scores any touch downs. It is frustrating for his other WR not getting his trust since all targets were for Devante Adams despite being double covered. Aaron does not hesitate to throw his teammates under the bus. In the playoffs and last night was on him. Trevor Lawrence shows more guts than him
