The creativeness of this choreography never ceases to amaze me, but even more impressive about this clip to me is how well they utilized and adapted to such a small stage while performing a huge number.
watching these clips are fantastic, but occasionally one strikes a comment like this (all these years later) and it just value adds the whole experience. thankyou
The fact that they had to change the staging to fit the tiny area they were performing in... they are such pros... so incredible!!!!!!!!
It was such a compact version I was worried for them but they totally pulled it off :) :) :)
He is such a versatile actor and I think he needs to do more broadway!
The pure energy in the performance by Daniel is proof that he is deserving of more fantastic work!
He will. He’s doing Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along later this fall.
I saw him in Merrily We Roll Along and he BODIED Franklin Shepard Inc.
I also saw him in Merrily We Roll Along and he was great singing Franklin Shepard Inc and Good Thing Going (I also met him at Stage Door)
I don't think I've ever heard a crowd cheer so much after a performance on any late night show.
Flawless accent, brilliant pitch & outstanding dance moves. He had such great charisma & enthusiasm. If anyone ever thought he would be stuck as the specky boy who lived they were wrong. He has endless talent & this is an excellent example of just how varied his performances can be.
His singing has improved pitch wise since I say the show in March. I always find it interesting how they re-stage big production numbers like this to fit in an actually very small studio such as this one. Rob Ashford deserves a lot of credit for where he has taken this show as both a director and a choreographer.
How they do not collide is beyond me. I love this show.
saw this on broadway this summer, and i'm not even kidding, it was the BEST broadway show i've ever seen. daniel was FANTASTIC, and i didn't feel like i was watching harry potter which was great. john larroquette was also AMAZING, everyone needs to see this show!!!!!!!
When this first aired on Letterman I saved it on my DVR.
I was astounded! Love love love the energy and footwork and fun.
Almost everynight I played it before going to bed.
After a day of bad news and grief and strife it really cheers me up.
Tonight I accidently deleted it. Ack! So glad I found it here.
Thank you MichaelParkNet for posting this.
Wow! The physicality of the dance moves was really impressive! And to do all that while singing! Wow!
Have seen the show four times.....!!! Just love it, the whole thing is incredible--funny, energetic, well-acted. Didn't know Dan before this but his incredible courage, work ethic, energy, determination and flat out talent have floored me. Plus he's beautiful and everybody in the show loves him. He goes out and sign autographs every night although he's exhausted. And he made a pact with John Laroquette to NEVER miss one show, which is practically unheard of on Broadway. BRAVO Dan!!
whoa. i'm really impressed. dan has great stage presence.
This is the textbook definition of what Broadway calls The 11 o'clock Number.
Could you tell what it means?
@@yashrajwadalkar5220 The big production number near the end of the show. :)
@@claudiamastroianni4300 ohh thanks a lot!!
@@yashrajwadalkar5220 The called it the 11 o'clock number because some of these big musicals would last up to 3 hours or more (with intermission thrown in and sometimes the 8:00 curtain may not rise till 8:15 or something). It was usually the last big number to "wake" the audience up and to signal they were nearing the end of the production.
@@kev7161 ohhh that's explains a lot! Thanks!! 😊😊
Saw it live on Broadway with my wife and son and his wife. Loved it!!! I knew the story but my son was so impressed with Radcliffe. Of course he only knew him as Potter. We were all impressed. Terrific revival. Excellent
Seeing Daniel hit all those notes and dance moves flawlessly -- incredible!
I have watched a couple different versions of the performance of this song... and I really appreciate the camera shot from the back with him doing the flip. I wonder if he ever did gymnastics. That's really great body form.
He did Harry Potter stunts :D :D
1. I have to watch this on broadway
2. His american accent is not too shabby
3. His dancing has imrpoved much from the Goblet of Fire!
4. I love Daniel Radcliffe and the entire cast is just mind blowing and brilliant! Smashing!
Frank Loesser was such a genius. I'm not particularly proud to be an American EXCEPT when I see something like this. What pure joy!
He is definitely one of the coolest, most talented people of all time!
3:43 I just love that flip!
PasadenaGrandma - the score is written that way for the Miss Jones part. (I played the role long ago.) It's incredibly difficult to sing over all those guys and then to be swaying like that - wow - so difficult. She was fabulous!
This was amazing - wow - what choreography!
I just have to say that it really is amazing how they put that all together. I work tech for high school shows and they never even touch any of that amazing choreography. The amount of time that is put in to learn all those moves must be astronomical though.
Also, Dan is really amazing
i neveer tire of this song.....fab ! (ENTIRE CAST OF CUTIES )
There is magic in this performance! It was thrilling.
Oh my god I've finally found a performance where they got a really good shot of the overflip near the end! Bravo!
That's a workout!
wow i'm impressed by dan's amazing moves !!
He has Dyspraxia but hecan do amazing things and he should be proud of himself.
How can you not like this??
4:38 WHITE JOSH!!!!
(David Hull)
My hobby is going through all of these radcliffe-brotherhood of man clips and liking all "white Josh" comments
Whoa! That was intense!
Training for the ballet, Potter? :D
This comment is on every video of Daniel in the show or performing something from it on TV that I can find. Lol
I went to go see this play. Amazing is all I have to say.
That Potter kid is truly talented!!!!
This is fantastic choreography! love this sooo much.
It's strange how his American accent sounds just like Elijah Wood. Haha.
such a cool scene! loved the dance breaks!!
I love him. He's brilliant!!!!
This was amazing for many reasons, but especially how they needed to change their coordination of dancing to singing to accommodate the smaller stage! Wow!
Wonderful! Wish I could've seen this live.
im so glad he has that part its so cool
Seen it last week, Dan did a great job! All of them were good!
I have no words.
Look at the guy dancing... and he has dyspraxia!!!
Why can't everything these days be this fantastic. Hell why can't 1% of the shit out there be as awesome as this. I'm blown away.
I saw the show; it was great!
Astounded
Awesome performance 😉
wow dan actually did really great, i was not expecting that at all
These guys where great.
This looks like fun! I've got to see this!
Paul Schafer really laid the music out on this...
What a MASTER CRAFTSMAN
lo mejor!!!yo estube ese dia en el programa
Brilliant Job Dan 👏
David Hull 😍😍😍😍
Well, try and dance all that... while singing.
This performance was so different to the show i watched last month, I wonder if they have changed at the teather as well, i miss the lady solo, she is really good and brings power to this performance. Does anyone know the name of the 2 guys dancing near daniel at 3:55 they are also really talented!
Oh mah gosh. the end where they push them back and forth on the table. I nerded. My school actually did this play back in the fall of last year, and this would have been much better.
Only if your Miss Jones has the breath support to sing over the chorus while being tipped back and forth! Ellen Harvey must have abs as well as lungs.
Good job!!!
amezing
woaaah harry can MOVE
I hope they turn this in the movie soon after it stops playing on broadway so more people can see it!!!! Please!!!! The main characters at tv/movie actors anyway! :D
I can’t remember the name of the actress in the red dress, and I know they probably had to pare this down due to TV time, but really too bad they cut her solo portion of this song. She was awesome. (I know she can be seen doing it in that year’s Tony Awards presentation of this number.)
Ellen Harvey
Daniel was made for Broadway dancing.
I Love Dan!!!!!😍😍😍😍
amezing video
Go Daniel!
Aww i want to see this so badly... Why do I live in Germany? :( his dancing and singing is so amazing :D
Now I've seen Daniel in his other films... and while watching them I'm not going 'Look it's Harry Potter as an Australian orphan!' or 'Look it's Harry Potter taking on the Germans!', but I wasn't really blown away either... Until Equus (no nude jokes--grow up). But now... What's after blown away? Well, whatever it is--I'm exponentially that!
Daniel, you are incredible.
Go Dan! Nice job.
All I see is a first year wizard student. He'll always be Harry Potter to me
well he is not the best singer in the world but he is a good actor, funny and optimistic, that's just perfect for broadway, I just hope he continues acting in films buacause I would love to see him succeed
They cut half the number. Probably due to the small stage compared to the real theatre.
I was sad they left out Miss Jones’s verse! Cut for time as well as space.
God how many times did they make him do this song 😂😂😂
I think Dan is the best young dancer ever XD
LOVE him soooooooo much
YOU'RE A WIZARD HARRY!!
Daniel dances really well
@IansObsession I agree. Dan has put so much effort and work into his performance. He has been performing 8 shows a week since February and will continue to do so until January 1. Darren is only there for 3 weeks... so really he will only get a taste of what Dan has done this past year. While I'm sure he will do well, I'm not sure his performance will be quite as good as Dan's.
@floriarose No, I'm pretty sure they just cut out part of her solo in this, because I just saw it Friday, and she still sings it.
He's so short
Don't get me wrong, I love Dan as Harry Potter but it's time to let him move on. If we only ever recognize him as The Boy Who Lived... Eventually he's going to get sick of it. That's exactly why Julie Newmar (Catwoman) left the Batman series of the '60s because she was tired of everyone telling asking her to purr for them on the street. She wanted to be remembered as more than just a sexy cat but they just wouldn't let her have that :-(
woah harry can sing and dance :)
haha its os funny seeing him do this when he is harry potter... haha hes so cute!
@hadou31shakkahou ... Harry has now grown up!
@Calgurl10 lol It's funny that you comment on Dan's facial expressions because I always thought some of the facial expressions Darren uses on Glee are quite ridiculous... especially when he's singing. He overdoes it I think. Hopefully he learns to tone it down this season and for when he does his stint on Broadway. He could be good. If I had the choice, I'd want to see Dan though, especially after watching this.
Excited to see Darren Criss doing hand stands, retiré passés, & being tossed from side to side. Funny how he did Harry in AVPM/S w/c was DanRad's orginally, & this January, Darren'll be doing Finch, in w/c DanRad was the prior performer.
Incredible, great job. So proud of Daniel he is something else!!
what the name of the actress dancing here? i love her!
Daniel soooo professional. They could perform this in their sleep ~!!!!
tonys for all please 1!!!!!!
I think they were trying a little.
@sinatrabooth89 I saw an ad and you are right - his pitch has improved since then. Perhaps he's done some work, but also perhaps they did some sound system work. Perhaps he wasn't hearing his voice correctly.
I hope they turn this in the movie soon after it stops plting on broadway so more people can see it!!!! Please!!!! The main characters at tv/movie actors anyway! :D
@broadcastinmyself521 They've all signed on for a year's engagement, at least, for the original cast members.
They're sooo AMAZING!!! But i really can't take Daniel seriously with that bowtie!! :D
OMG DANIEL RADCLIFFE!! WHO KNEW!!!
I love how awkward they are in the beginning...
@LovelyLucyKnox Yes, that is possible!
Looking at this I could only think of Harry trying to get Vernon to do this lol.
Norm MaCdonald made an interesting review of that play.
@judithkt Do you have any idea if this musical will come out on dvd? And also other musicals like The Book Of Mormon, or will u only be able to see those musicals by going to broadway or something?
