It is never wrong if you learn from it. Yes, you are doing somethings different than some pro's would do it' but you are doing it yourself and doing a good job at it. You are able to figure out how to get things done without the privilege of having someone teach you. You should be very proud of everything you have done. By the way you have a really good singing voice.

Congratulations. You should be very proud of yourself. You're quickly becoming the Bob Ross of Construction, Bob Villa. May I suggest though, you get a level. Makes life so much easier and you'll be much happier!! Good for you that you didn't go drag those cutie construction dudes over to help. To get the curve on the ceiling, you could try a piece of cardboard, cutting a general arch and gradually slicing away till you get the right curve. Then you can use that template for all your divider walls. But if anyone has a better idea, have at it.
Take care and hugs from Canada!!

For having zero experience, and not even knowing anything about tools or what tools to use in the beginning, you are doing really really well. Give yourself some grace. I have not been more proud of anybody else that I’m watching that is building, you’re doing a very good job. I have almost every tool known to mankind for woodworking if I don’t have it I have a lot of experience using it. And because I’m living in my bus while I’m going to be building it it will most likely take me at least two years. I can build a wall and have it insulated in a matter of a couple hours and it’ll be as good as a wall in a house. As a matter of fact this winter I am in Iowa, And I got stuck here last October. Lost my job and my bus was not insulated yet and looking at an obvious potential for subzero weather this winter I had to punt with very little money. So I ordered a bunch of mylar space blankets on Amazon and got all the free cardboard I could ever possibly need and then some, and built walls to separate the front drivers area from the rest of the bus and down to split my living area in half basically. The benefit to doing it the way I did using mylar and cardboard for insulation is it’s an easy tear out when it’s done. Also the whole project with window coverings and everything cost me 50 bucks. And with one electric heater in the forward part of the bus is where my solar panel and stuff is that one electric heater keeps my batteries at a safe temperature. While also that area is a cold part of the bus so I use that as my refrigerator lol. The drivers area is completely cut off and that is used as my freezer and works quite well lol. The back of the bus is where I live eat sleep and everything else I do have a diesel heater in that area just like yours, and I also have an infrared heater. But if it’s not in the single digits I cannot run the diesel heater because it gets too hot unless I shut off the infrared heater. Currently it is 16° outside and a very light breeze but because the sun is up, I have no heaters running. I said all that to say this as you gain experience you will be a wealth of knowledge to other people. And you having no experience doing as well as you are even with the help you’ve gotten, that is a huge inspiration for all of us that haven’t started yet. Thank you.

Good job, Emma. Things are coming together.. The optimal thing would be to place the walls in line with supports between windows, so you don't cut the windows + you can use supports to attach the wall to. Anyway, you're doing great and will find a solution. =) The shape of the bus is not straight, it has curvature everywhere.. Maybe picking the shapes would help.. The top plates for the walls could be made of laminated plywood to reach the thickness and to attach the sheeting to. Pick the shape of the roof with cardboard, scissors and pencil , cut two or three (depends on plywood) curved to shape stripes of plywood, glue them together and attach those to the roof. It should be exact with no sweat. =D Keep going.

  • @xavierpendrag0n

The method you are using to do your rolled cuts is a totally legit method most builders call shadow boarding. If you ever needed proof that you are progressing, you have indeed. That build method on the fly from your brain only proves you do indeed know what you are doing. Never hurts to ask questions when not sure. Honestly, winging stuff is really all professionals do tbh. The difference is it is educated winging. Noice work.

good work on your top cut angle technique you developed. you are getting a logical handle on things; creating your own technique based upon the geometric/ mathematical principals, as those concepts solidify in your mind, you will understand methods other people tell you (rather than just fallowing instruction) and will adapt/ modify to suit your needs, as well as problem-solving where there are no conventional techniques. Ill have to use your technique in the future.

A carpenter's/framer's square is get this SQUARE. Ya know the one that's L shaped. Otherwise remember a 3-4-5 triangle. 1 side is 3', the other side is 4' then the long is 5'. The cool thing is multiples work too so on a deck for example 6'-8'-10' will be square, or 9'-12'-15'. Or 18"-2'-30" which is each divided in half for smaller.
Another tip for the horizontal framing. Take a 6" 2x4 block etc, quick clamp it to stud at correct height you want then set the 2x4 on top of it...then it won't fall on you :) If you can't clamp it put a screw in to hold it temporarily. Tips for working alone :)

Good progress! When feeling unmotivated for this projects try browsing some store sections where they have already built bathrooms and showers for display and maybe kitchen cabinets and similar stuff that you plan on building yourself in the future, look at them "closely", test them, that way you'll certainly catch some new ideas that you can use in your bus builds and it will help motivate you.
Can't wait for the next video, take care.

To conform to the top edge better you could try scribing a pattern of the ceiling arch, with a pencil and compass, onto some scrap timber or plywood. Then cut that out and use it to mark and cut the 2x4 ends.

Emma this might be very useful for squaring your walls etc., make a construction square (make it using the 5ft hypotenuse 4ft 3ft sides makes a right angle triangle) or better still find a sheet cutoff the size you want with a square corner and mark or cut it in such away, so only that corner is used to mark from then there's no mistakes and sit it on the floor, everything then is at 90 degrees to the floor.
