Believe it or not, but now with Turbulus people are experimenting with Location Shaman in Standard. You got Parrot Sanctuary and Fairytale Forest that synergize with each other, and you have Muck Pools which is cheap. Seaside Giant is a great evolve target as the only 11 mana minion in standard is Chained Guardian, the DK 8/5 with rush and reborn.
Naga Giant also saw play in Warrior in Standard thanks to that dredge minion that gave you armor equal to the cost of the card, and they played some big spells to discount it to 0 (notably riffs and Trial). There was also the Blackrock and Roll interaction and tutorability with Chorus Riff.
molten giant was core card in echo mage (somewhat tried frost giant too which was not as great, but worked as an extra giant for slow matchups when your health didn't go low enough since arcane giant only came out after echo rotated to wild), a kind of niche deck from before first standard rotation
I liked Storm Giant in Armor Taunt Warrior. It was a good way to trigger your Ignis, The Eternal Flame, and could be a good way to spend excess mana in a turn for an 'emergency' taunt down the line.
jokes on you, i do remember playing an overload shaman in which the wincon was, dropping snowfury giant with ancestral spirit, and copying it with sapphire spellstone, god the deck was subpar at best, but it became one of the decks that I remember most fondly
There is a gimmick deck with storm giant, especially back in Titans, because you can still forge Storm giant when it costs zero you could forge it a bunch of times with Melted Maker out to drop a bunch of 8/8s, and some decks just couldn't deal with it.
Mana Giant was very strong in mage with twin spells where you destroy the giant and get 2 another 8 mana cost minions. You combo on turn 4/5 with apprentice, cheap spells and elemetals and refill your hand with sidequest and the 2mana elemental. This Deck was brutal good, because you destroy the enemy board with cheap spells and develop your own big board and generate a lot of burstspells. The limited cards you can discover and generate where strong, it dont works anymore these days. The Pop up turns where so huge and funny, perfekt synergie
Arcane Giant was a real sleeper hit. Wasn’t considered any good when it came out. But over time as more and more powerful 0 and 1 cost spells came out it just became better and better.
I liked arcane giant in dead man's yogg saron back in the day. Molten giant is definitely a contender for top 10 hearthstone cards of all time. Just a card that has been good so often though the years.
As someone who hasn't played in a long time and likes to listen to these, can you please read out the cards in full when you describe them? At least their effects
6:16 I think there were overload decks that could play it, beside the obvious tunnel trogg shaman, but overload shaman fell by the wayside before knights of the frozne throne, I think Un'goro, when the 4 mana 7/7 came out (I think) was one of the last expansions where it would be playable, but again, it came out too late. Quest Mage combined giants (usually arcane) with Alexstraza to put the enemy at 15 health and guarantee kill, also when saying "while in standard" you probably should point out it's standard rotation not standard as in when it only just came out, because having the spells to play arcane on turn 3 in what's that symbol? Karazhan? would be absoulutely messed up. And of course it has to be mentioned (with dread, terror and as warning to the younger generations) molten giant and paladin roulette Some paladin players would actually just YOLO the holy wrath and not set up some guaranteed combo for it, bloody madmen.
I tried to play deathrattle dh back when they tried to push it (I had unpacked the legendary, what was I gonna do, NOT try to use it?) to varying success. Ur'zul giant was okay, but I ultimately removed him because he was too slow. I played flesh giant in warlock, it was really fun with soul gems, didn't even notice the nerf until someone told me about it because I was changing health so often.
i'm noticing some classes are giantless, so let me add suggestions for how to fix this issue that is plaguing the game, please take notes Blizz: - Druid = Forest giant. 20 mana 8/8, costs 1 less per Attack you've given to friendly characters this game. - Hunter = Bloodhound giant. 11 mana 8/8 beast, costs 1 less per time you've damaged the enemy hero this game. - Paladin = Giant protector. 8 mana 8/8, costs 1 less per friendly Divine shield that has been destroyed this game. - Rogue = Giant disguise. 8 mana 8/8, costs 1 less per Giant disguise you've summoned this game. - Warrior = Berserker giant. 8 mana 8/8, costs 1 less per damaged minion on the battlefield. edit: changed the druid giant so it's not just mulchmuncher and adjusted hunter cost
Can we get a PowerPoint about the powercreep on neutral card advantage minions. There has been such a growth over the years and it feels like every expansion they get closer to strong.
Snowfury giant was really strong when shaman spell of 2 mana dealt 3 damage to a Random enemy minion, overcharge 1 was a thing. Mainly when shaman quest came out and well on turn 2 clear the board of aggro decks, then drop two 0 mana 8 8 and dealt 12 damage to face was something really funny and anoyying. That worked until... You know nerf to shaman came out and the card became useless 😂😂 Oh frost giant was used in a small period of time, how? Well I dont know if this is a bug or what, but for mage and I mean even mage back in the horde expansion, the spell that makes youre hero power do one point more with other cards was a good deck in wild and the spirit of dragonhawk and the new 4 mana card had a really interesting effect with the giant, even though you didnt spend the mana or use directly the hero power, this extra points from those card make the giant reduce its cost by 1, so using the 4 mana 3/5 when a board has 7 minions reduce the cost of the giant by 8 points 😂😂😂
Snowfury saw play day 1 of Frozen Throne, then people saw it's shit. Storm Giant had a pretty fun meme deck on release with Warlock and their location from Titans as well as that 2 mana 3/2 that gave a copy of a minion. Would let you dump out like 4 8/8s turn 4.
straight up make jumbo imp discount for each demon youve summoned this game i wanna run shady bartender and man'ari mosher please blizzard i yearn for curvestone tribal decks that arent pirates : 3
Don't know if it's just me, but I don't like Giants. I feel like most of them either see no play, or see oppressive play because you can cheat them out early enough to scam a game. The opportunity cost of putting an 8/8 do nothing into your deck depends by default on how much it would usually cost you, so almost always giants are only worth putting into your deck if you can play them before turn 5 or 6 consistently, at least so it feels in standard right now. Also I don't understand why is their stateline a static 8/8, that doesn't make sense from a balance perspective, and maybe there's some theme/flavor I don't get but nevertheless I don't think it's good design.
Everyone says Flare is sounding different because he's talking about good cards so he's not getting as mad lmaooo
ngl hes more appealing when hes not malding
He sounds more nasally?
Flare is so chilled out in this one lmao
Because he's talking about good cards lol
Arcane giant was playable in standard in yogg druid
Also on that timewarp otk mage a while ago
bro entered asmr mode

Plus the new hunter parrot that repeats your last 1 cost card, more muck pools!
Bro cannot post uninteresting videos
I love these videos. They're really interesting and engaging. Just sounds blegh today
I think I'll have a stroke if I have to listen anymore of this bloons td ost lol.
It did feel especially loud this video.
The only Bloons OST is the sound of balloons popping

Damn dude you are just cranking out the vids. Good stuff
I became a legend with the cycle rogue deck, and throughout the two expansions, I think strong alternative decks can still be made.
18:41 Arcane Giant was played in standard in waygate

The title gave me flashbacks of naga sea witch meta, where you put all giants in a single deck, painful times
Holy shit genuinely my bad forgetting to talk about Naga sea witch
Kibler used to run a sweet deck with snowfury giant

Are Chained Guardians giants or does their statline exclude them?
Giants specifically say giant in the name and are 8/8s
Love giants
I sent this to my ex and she wanted me back
Arcane Giant was also run sometimes in questline Druid before Yogg was added, and sometimes after it got nerfed.
Let me guess. You caught the flu.
Clearly dont understand the power of snowfury giant in star aligner shaman
