Saw them in a club in Wichita,KS back in 1983 for the first time. After the first set we had gotten our monies worth ($5.00 at the door). But it was after the second set that we all knew we were seeing something special. The band was having so much fun they convinced the club owner they wanted to play more. The owner had to close the place,so if you were inside, you were stuck. Three more sets later, the show ended around 6:00 a.m. An amazing night that some 20 plus years later I saw them again and got to meet the band after the show. I brought up that night at the Coyote Club, and everyone of them smiled and still remembered what a hot night that was. David still says it was one of the best times they ever had. And in of all places,Wichita. These guys just bring it every night.
I dont care what style or type of music it is or where they are from. It's always an honor to listen to fine musicians who've dedicated their life to their craft.
Saw this band in Chicago at the Taste Of Chicago a few years ago. They were on the program with Los Lonely Boys. For the encore it was Los Lobos, a couple of guys from Los Lonely Boys, and Robert Plant. They played an old Gene Chandler song called "The Girl Don't Care". The whole place went nuts...!!
Wild! Your band is pretty deep when your original drummer, becomes the third guitarist, a couple of decades on, and plays some of the trippiest, free-wheeling solos. Incredible band!
Had the honor of working with these guys years ago. Unbelievably cool people, had heard a lot of their music from the studio but seriously one of the best live band's I've ever worked with or seen.
Always a brilliant bunch of musicians, but I think this new dude on drums seriously has put them to a better level. Great songs, great guitar playing, bass playing, singing, saxophone and some kick ass drumming. These guys are as good as ever, even 40 years in to their career.
blabbing 6 years after this gig - and knowing Los Lobos for decades; these guys, the Bruces the Blasters, the Lunch Pail guys that just show up to kick your ass and then make you dance and then make you cry and then make you laugh and send you home rocked out wasted - man L.A. and I, thus the world are so lucky to have had and have Los Lobos. Question: Has there been any other band BADDER that has skated under the radar as long and much as the Wolf Pack? 🎸
Having done thousands of shows over dozens of years, working with these guys has always been one of the most memorable events in my career. Fucking unbelievable cool bunch of guys, wish I could have spent more time with them.
I’m not sure how I missed these guys all of these years but the musicianship, singing and songwriting is top tiered! Thank you for keeping the music alive while late comers like me catch up with you! Amazing...just amazing!!!
I think I first heard Los Lobos in 1987 or 1988, opening for the Dead, I've been a fan ever since. I still think there is no better rock and roll band out there - there are others on their level, but you don't get any better. Que viven los lobos!
I totally agree. Rock, Tejano, Chicano, Zydeco, Country… They’re unique unto themselves, but uniquely American. America is the only place where such music could originate. And Los Lobos perfected their own style in the process.
During the '80's and the early '90's, Louie is credited as drummer on liner notes. The first four times I saw the band live, Louie was playing drums. During the shows, he occasionally stepped from behind the kit to play guitar and other fretted instruments on the nortena music. the last five times I've seen them, he's played both electric and acoustic guitar, and other traditional fretted instruments, and would take solos on a few of the rockers. The current drummer is Enrique Gonzalez. Before him was Cougar Estrada, and before that, Henry Spinetti. None of them is related to David Hidalgo in any way.
With the Rock n Roll HOF in such a mad rush to be PC and woke that folks like LL Cool J, Madonna and Janet Jackson are in, why the hell do they ignore this INCREDIBLE band?!?!?
@@ramonmoreno8014 Karen? WTF? So you DON'T like Los Lobos? You DON'T think they deserve to be in the Hall Of Fame? What's your point? If you're trying to be funny, don't quit your day job.
Los Lobos is mind blowing good, has a long track record of great music, and they still kick ass after 40+ years of earning a real living. But Cardi B is really famous! She’s got skills! 😵💫 Any takers? 😏
most underrated Band ever!
Amen. FINALLY in the R&R HoF. Peace out, gentleman.

Underrated? By whom?
I wish people would stop using the description "underrated". It is cliche really. Especially when a band is NOT underrated to begin with.
I would have to say that is an accurate statement.... saw four times. One of the best bands I've ever seen.

5 bucks back then.
What’s that 35 bucks now a days.
So worth it
Dude...I grew up at the Coyote Club! What a joint that was!

damn straight!
Surfed out east LA Mojave war ripping left handed with wrap around with a hint of biker.
"I don't even care (that they're Mexican). Interesting you felt the need to bring it up, rather than just the music, then.
