We've seen Los Lobos in small venues and large, so many times since the first time in the 1970s that I can't count them. As a woman born in Nebraska who thought Taco Bell was Mexican food and my husband who lived in San Antonio, we've loved every time we've heard them play. Thank you, Los Lobos, for making our lives so much more enjoyable.
I got to see in my lifetime my two favorite bands of all time live the Beatles twice and los lobos around 10 times first time at the whiskey a go go very early 80s thank you my brother’s ❤️👍🙏
Los Lobos is a quintessential American band. You bring all the elements of your cultures and experiences to your music. Chicano, Tejano, Zydeco, Bakersfield and other country styles. Oh yeah, and Rock! I love it. Much praise and respect!
It's crazy seeing them in the PBS special in the 70s which is in the clip. Crazy that they been together this long, but blessed us all with their talent and music. Los Lobos forever!
I’d further than that and say one of America’s greatest bands. Should be mentioned with The Beach Boys, Byrds, Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, whoever. I remember seeing a review of one of their albums (can’t recall which, something after Kiko) and the reviewer ended with something like “just an average Los Lobos album, which means it will probably make my year end top 10 list”.
LL has grown on me so much over the course of almost 40 years. Always liked them, grew to love them. They’re able to perform so many different styles and do them all so well. All of them are incredibly talented, but I’ll single out David for having one of the most honest and soulful voices I’ve ever heard. It’s funny to me that they’ve kind of settled into the jam band scene, because I think they’ve hit on the vibe that has eluded so many of those bands. Somehow, they’re able to remain incredibly laidback, even when they’re going full throttle. Don’t know how they do that. Anyway…when it comes to LL, I don’t think “National Treasure” is an overstatement.
What impresses me most about Los Lobos is their humanity--these are guys who love to play together, and who appreciate their audiences. I've been a fan since L.A., and finally met the band at the Music Box in Cleveland, where my wife, daughter and I were stuck for a while with a broken axle on our car. Despite their busy schedule, they stuck around for a little while to make sure that we'd get home, etcetera, before heading to the next gig. I'm a fan for life!
Best birthday present ever was a ticket given by my sister to see these guys. Great show at Rockefeller’s West. After the show I timidly walk to their back band room and was let in to meet them, have a beer, get autographs and share cigarettes with Conrad. Great time. Congratulations guys!
Los Lobos I am reminded of the 80s when they did the soundtrack for La Bamba. I loved that movie .Watched it so many times I know it by heart. And bought the Cassette too .
