love the property and the ambience. I just love heritage properties. And there are so many in Rajasthan. Have you been to Bambora Fort about 20kms from Udaipur. One great property.
The property really is stunning but yeah I do agree when they are charging $800 for this, AC should work like you are in Himalayas in winter. I got chills looking at some parts of the property . The interiors , restoration works, lightings, all are awe-soothing . 🙏
I really love your narration vs. other luxury channels that just simply tour the properties and maybe have captions/descriptions. But your voice, from script to insight, really make the videos.
So sorry about the AC problems you had and that’s a bad look for this place not rectifying the situation. It sure is beautiful though. Thank you for your honest reviews, I just subscribed to your channel because of it. 👍🏻😊
I was there recently, they had 3 rooms occupied, all of us stayed in the entry level category. With the property empty it would be nice to have one category upgrade... we also had a problem and duty manager is not able to solve anything. I left with a feeling if this place would be managed by Oberoi, could be one of the best hotels in the world!
Thanks for the review. Excellent preview as we'll be staying there in February. But please note an error in your graphics - the opening score shows 82/100 but the closing slide shows 92/100
For properties where a penalty is applied, there are two score cards. The first is the "Property Score" (92/100) which is what I think the average guest can expect when everything is working as intended. The second score card (shown right after the first) is "My Impressions" score which takes into account the 10 point penalty for the AC problems during my stay. So my overall impressions of 82/100 is correct. Thanks for watching 🩴
Such a lovely place beautifully restored and recreated but the air conditioning not working really a bit of a worry, other than that seems to be really nice hanks for the review
Beautiful rstoration work🤩 Authenticity is very much preserved. Given the limited number of such hotels and rooms available to what extent do you think the letdown service will affect the decision of potential guests to visit the property?
Not much honestly and this is why I introduced the penalty system instead of just deducting from the basic score. In all likely hood, someone at IHG will see this video and at some point all of the ACs will be property checked/repaired if that hasn't already been done. I think there's a big distinction between things that go wrong that are 'fixable' or preventable as compared to a flawed hotel in general. Service needs to be worked on here, but it wasn't a disaster. My own review wouldn't disuade me from going if I really wanted to see it, if that makes sense haha. Thanks very much for the support 🙏
Great review once again - service recovery seems to be somewhat cultural in this instance I believe I may be wrong - a very tranquil respite and I’d love to visit one day - Thankyou
I disagree, recovery at a Leela, Oberoi or Taj is just about as high of a standard as you can get- if anything, the culture in most situations makes recovery better in India, which is why this property stuck out like a sore thumb.
Gorgeous property. Decor is totally to my taste if I had that kind of budget 😊. What I found startling around 04 :24 into the video, it looks like someone spat betel nut juice on the wall and left a stain. Maybe a souvenir from the old ruins days. It is in a desert, and I appreciate the difficulties associated with running an air-conditioned property fashioned from an old fort. However, at $800 a night, they need to try a lot harder. As for not having a specialty Indian restaurant and having the musicians as a background act, I believe it is deliberate as they are trying to cater to a certain demographic.
What a breath taking hotel ever despite seamless service seemingly impotent. Thanks very much for sharing this enjoyable video! BTW...i like your bgm a lot and could you tell me their credits ?❤
Great video and gorgeous property. Thanks for amazing content. I’ll be in Bhutan in October 2024 and thought I’d look into staying at their Bhutan property…it was priced at over $2,200 a night…so that won’t be happening. A bit past my budget. On the way to, and returning from Bhutan, I’ll be in Singapore and Six Senses used to have a property there…the Duxton, I think…in China Town.
