I've given up on the rotation stuff, what I do instead is plant the same crop for Three years, then limestone, Plough it etc, wait for it to go fallow for two years, then plant another crop. It's just less hassle and I think 3 years is suitable for any crop in Seasons.

I know you will be answering this in your animal video, but I am currently working on a calculator for animals. For this I need to know if animals need different amount of food if they have different age or weight. This could make or brake this feeding calculator. ;)
Yes. young animals eat less than bigger older ones. different breeds of each animal also consume at different rates. I had a feed needs spreadsheet in 17. I have given up all hopes of creating one for 19. To many variables for my feeble math skills.
@@FarmerKlein Yes, I have been testing for a bit now that seasons is out and with all those different factors, the needs will be quite different every year, depending on how your animal stock is built. Even rough estimates are hard to say.
No, It will take 1 season transition duration starting at the instant the bale was wrapped in hours. So 3 day seasons is a one day transition so the bale will be wrapped grass for 24 hours after wrapping. 6 day seasons the bale will take 48 hours, 9 day seasons 72 game hours, etc.
Why is your animal tab with your main menu? Is it just on consoles that animals are under the season menu? Is it the geo you’re using? Or is it just an older seasons build you’re showing?
This video was done with a pre release of seasons and by the time seasons was released for console it was updated many many times for PC. During one of those updates the animal screen was moved to the seasons menu and the view redesigned.
What does it mean to let fallow? Don't farmer plant a cover crop then leave it rest for a season? Being fallow in FS 19could that mean to leave it as harvester?
A question about seeding. So if field is farrow during seeding that is classed as one stage of fertilising so only need 2 additional ones? If a field is not farrow do you need to have 3 stages of fertilising so say one during seeding?
I do not know the full mechanic but it seems if a feel is left fallow for a year the next planting/seeding will give a bonus fert state. likely because the field has had a chance to 'rest' it has more nutrients in it. thus no need to fertilize all three times. This is using the base geo built in. each geo could have different mechanics.
@@FarmerKlein Leaving a field Fallow for a year seems pointless, wheat was only 1.08 so very little gain and one fertilise state isn't a lot, might as well fertilise it. I'm trying to figure out how to get a bonus fert state. I've just planted grass in a field that was fallow previous and before previous, for a 1.20 yield bonus. Haven't received a bonus fert state...
Is the drying time for turning grass to hay related to season length the way silage is or is it a set time that is only affected by moisture percentage?
As I understand it drying time is an internal calculation based upon the drying potential of the weather at the time of drying. The amount of sun, the amount of wind, the overall time of day (no drying is going to happen over night for example) among other factors. Just because it took 8 or less hours in this video does not mean it will take this amount of time in future cuttings. Sometimes you might have to leave the semi dry grass on the field over night and wait till late morning or early afternoon the next day for the moisture to dry out of it from the nightly dew.
In FS19 Seasons is it still possible to wrap hay bales to protect from rot like in FS17? Also I heard rumor of being able to apply herbicide in a pre weed state capacity, have you messed with that?

Seasons is what I've been holding out for before playing fs19 n now that it's here it looks awesome although I don't care for how the horses are set up but I'd definitely play on 24 day seasons. Alotta fields that need planted n harvested in contracts every year to take up any extra time n make extra money. I still think this is the game giants should have made instead of the base game
Yea I thought it might fix horses but it made them worse in my opinion. And I also think the animals should eat more with longer seasons but they eat the same still. That’s why I want to play longer seasons. It makes baking hay for the winter not realistic
@@Josh-zr3jy I like the idea of being a horse trainer n running a livery for them but I think they shoulda also had horse breeding where you own n raise up colts to sell. The whole animal husbandry coulda been done better from getting beef calves from the milkers n being able to breed to make meat animals instead of having to buy them then raise them. N I'm so disappointed that they didn't make grinding grain for the cows a thing
Too many mid-video commercials. Thanks for the info though. Very helpful.
There where three, i have taken one out. I run my videos for the first month with a single skip able add at the start of the video. After a month or so I then go back and have you tube auto add in mid roll ads. I try to go in and move them around so they are not overly numerous and not to close together but can see how three in a video just under 30 min might feel a bit much thus I have reduced it to 2.
3 commercials in 22 minutes isnt a lot
I'm actually pretty annoyed at the inaccurate colors of grass. Especially hay.
Well the color of hay was somewhat adjusted for color blind individuals like myself that found it hard to tell when semidry grass changed to hay with out actually seeing it change infront of you. Look at my first video on grass in this playlist and you will see the old colors vs the new.
Soy as in boy. What the hell is a sohwee bean?
Yep. Soy bean. that's what i said. Clearly not what you heard.
All those videos about grass. Uncut, unnedited. Basicly its shit. I need to fast forward like 5 min to get where I want
Glad you liked it.
@@FarmerKlein I was a bit mad with my grass not turning into hay. But to be constructive and respectful, some editing would be nice !
Write a script? Because you deliver 1 min of constructive info in 5 min of footage. Like you run around and do bail abd think to what to say. Anyway man if i'm not happy I could do one myself thx for the infos in the vid
Feel free to put a more concise video out there. The more correct information that is out about seasons play the better for all.
