If you ted the wet grass it will turn to semi dry grass then you need to wait for the proper conditions for it to turn to hay if those conditions ever come before the semi dry grass disapears form the field. after 2 days I think if it does not turn to hay first.
Thank you so much for this tip. I used to play with seasons back on fs17 so I'm very familiar with it, but I wasn't 100% sure how the hay and stuff worked in seasons 19 lol. But again thank you.
You've confirmed a few things for me. Working semi-dry grass does nothing other than resetting the drying timer. Therefore, wasting time and probably product volume.
I'm not sure how it works in other places but here in Canada if you bale hay it lasts 2 years before it is considered not usable. To me in this game the rotting timetable is accelerated unrealistically where in the bale is gone in2 or 3 days or if you will 2 months game time. I realize it's a game but if they made a maybe me last 2 seasons even if stored outside, which on many maps is the same storing inside because the roofs let the rain and snow through anyway and do nothing to shelter what's inside. Still enjoyed your tutorial as it was informative. Also I haven't seen anyone tedding here. On our haybines we have crimper that basically do the same thing when mowing. But we still leave it to dry for 2 or 3 days depending on the weather. And turning it over with a rake (windrower) helps it to dry to.
if your playing on a map with out a seasons mask then the bale rotting is disabled. i would say if the rotting was measured in years vs days then it would in effect be a null feature as I do not know how many folks really play through a save for many many years to even realize the results of leaving things out.
@@FarmerKlein does that mean even if you create hay and store it in a shelter which doesn't allow rain through, that they'll only still last for 2 days? Basically makes the whole process of bailing and stock piling Bales pointless if that is the case, must be a way to slow down the rotting timescale?
So like a total newbie, I'm here after doing it wrong, lol. I ended up with 34 bales of semi dry grass thinking I was getting hay. Nope! Anyway, I did figure that it had to be left out to dry, but wasn't sure of the process. Anyway, as of now I'm running 30-some odd bales through my B-80 into a loading wagon so I can go dump it to start drying (again). My question I guess is one step further than the comment under which I'm posting this: When I unload this wagon, will I be able to get away with piling the loose semi dry stuff high and tight? I don't exactly have a ton of wide-open space to tedd it all out again right now. Gonna be just over three wagon loads, and I'm hoping to just help backing the wagon up the pile and making it taller, as long as it'll still finish drying and end up as hay. Will I be alright doing that?
Thanks for your Seasons videos, FK. So very informative. I think I heard in one of your previous videos that Seasons does not allow wrapping of hay bales because the moisture content would be too low to ferment. Can you confirm? Just want to know if I am remembering that correctly. Thanks!
Well the base game wont let you wrap hay either. I know in real life you can wrap what ever you want because the wrapper does not know the difference but in those cases there not wrapping hay for silage there wrapping it to protect it from the elements as I understand it.
I harvested then fertilized 3 grass fields going into winter. It is now spring day 4 6 day seasons and the fields still show harvested. The rest of the maps grass is ready to harvest. The grass is acting like s regular crop, I may have to plowv it up and start over. Any ideas?
You could report it as a possible bug over at the seasons gitlab site. be sure to include information on map, custom geo if your using one and seasons version.
In the base game, you would get a better yield if you harvested grass in the final harvest stage. Is that still the case in Seasons or once you hit 100% growth height is it all the same?
you cant unload it till its fermented and if you have not let it 'cook' for the same number of days for the days within a seasonal transition yes. Silage can take longer depending on your season duration from 1 day with 3 day seasons to 8 game days with 24 day seasons.
@@chloeqtpi I suspect your playing with other mods that also affect how silage works or the map itself is changed to affect how silage work. Maze plus for example.
As a console gamer really enjoying your seasons tips and tricks finding them most helpful , keep up the good work 😎👍
explained tons my first time doing grass in seasons i was lost, lol, thank you for the help!!

So does it dry faster if it's spread out, or is the timing the same as if it's in a windrow?
no

Love the videos. It’s help me a lot with seasons
Will we get this map before Christmas?
It might just be a stocking stuffier or a New Years baby. hard to say.

100% growth is all your gonna get.
is this why i couldnt unload in my bunker silo?

Can wet grass be used for clamp silage
wet grass is still grass and semi dry grass is still grass so both will work for silage.
@@FarmerKlein I tried to put wet grass in a clamp and it wasn’t accepted today. Any ideas?

super FK, thx
It's semi not seme. Learn what e does to a word like win Vs wine
Your lack of hearing whta I am saying is not the same as me saying things wrong.
