Yeah, but physics are a bit glitchy. It's too hard to launch your first rocket. Took me about 40000000 years before I did a succesful orbit.

Hullo, this is Skott Kerman, and today we'll be playing some more Human Space Program. Now, many of you have been asking for me to finally go back to the Moon. Unfortunately, due to the latest update, my craft files for my Ares V rocket have been deleted. So, we're gonna have to wait until we get enough funds to build a new rocket. Luckily, we have time acceleration. Can you imagine having to wait another 10 years in real time to launch a mission just to the Moon?

Biggest bugs in HSP:
No time warp.
Humans can die from ageing.
A little funny curiosity: the character "Werhner von Braun" from HSP was actually inspired by the real scientist Werhner von Kerman. Initially the wanted to name the character "wernher von Humanman", as a little funny joke, but they were quickly stop by the producers who feared that include the name of a war criminal in their game, even just for a joke, would have been to risky. So the programmers change the name from Humanman to Braun and get away with it.

Wait. Jeb runs a human space program which loves oversized machines and doesn't worry about its astronauts' safety so much as getting stuff into orbit as quickly as possible. Was...was he running the Soviet space program?
Nope. The current version of HSP only has the NASA Space Pragram. But there are some mods for the soviet one. Maybe a new update will add it officially into the game.
No. They did care, they were just a bit more daring. Also they had way fewer resources.
Timothy McLean Considering the leadership didn't care, Soviets made much more efforts towards safety. All of the accidents were predicted, but leaders made them continue with the launch even though problems had been spotted and the possibility of an accident was obvious.
I don't understand you, mate. The NASA launched Apollo mission even though they weren't 100 percent sure it would succed, yet they launched it because fo the space race. And statistically there were more casualties in American space program (3 in Apollo 1 + 14 in two shuttle disasters. 17 in total) rather than in soviet one (1 on Soyuz - 1, 3 on Soyuz-11. 4 in total). There were problems in both soviet and american flights so I have no idea why would you think that soviets didn't care about the safety. Exactly. And the first deadly Soviet launch was never to happen since they had spotted the flaws but they were obligued to, or else be subject to imprisonment or death. The second accident had the obvious lack of space suits which worked for many missions but could not be adressed due to the impossibility of obtaining the budget to redesign Soyuz and finally failed. Also, Soviets tested their moon launcher and space shuttle uncrewed first. Also, Russian safety systems saved every failed manned launch (including all the launch escape towers fired during N-1 failures, only to save mannequins and further test the escape system). Americans did no have such LES systems in many of their vehicles, and they would have likely saved some shuttle astronauts. Even the Soviet shuttle had plans to be fitted with specific ejection seats, and could be shut down since it used more advanced liquid boosters.
USA, on the other hand, tested all systems with humans instead of breathing mannequins and such. They did those shuttle launches even though they knew they could fail, and Americans could actually stop them regardless of leaders. Apollo 1 is a whole different story of missfortune and stupid mistakes which sadly costed lives.
As an Spaniard, so analyzing this as objectively as I can, I can't believe how uneducated people is about believing all the false facts and propaganda against the Soviet space program. At least, I think it doesn't happen quite as much as with Russia's one, which is admired by many Americans AFAIK, or at least in comment sections lol.

Human Space Program Dev Richard Kerbin: we didn't want to make it too violent of depictions of kerbins dying in rocket crashes so we made funny looking elongated people called "humans" to show the effects of rocket flaws.
