If I liked this movie it is because it made me realize that I was as lost as the protagonist is in the begining. Not knowing what to do with my life, what to study and even what I like doing. It taught me that I must find my passion/dream and, once I've found what it is, I must put my soul on making it a real thing, because I can achieve big things if I put time and effort, just as the girl would do with her writing or the boy did with his violin making skills. I think that each one of the Ghibli films represent a moment or a feeling in everyone's life. Kiki, totoro, the flying castle, and maybe ponyo, are made for when we're kids. Kiki for example is about having oneself's magic, growing up from a kid to a teenager and knowing the world that's waiting for us out there. What I mean is that I think that they have an order to watch and they are better when watched in the right time. They are all inspiring and beautiful, they will always have a very special place in my heart for the rest of my life and I will keep on recommending them to everyone who I see that can appreciate them. I don't know why but when I watched Whisper of the Heart I was very unimpressed overall, I found the story to be relatively boring compared to the magical adventures described in other Ghibli films. However, after some time, the movie truly grew on me. It just came out of no where. Perhaps it's due to the beautiful description of the everyday life of a normal student and so it became so relatable, but it took a bit of time to digest and now it's honestly is one of my favourite Ghibli films.
The relatability is very real, watching this as a young artist myself, I can recognize how Shizuku's struggles are exactly the same as mine and a lot of other artists'. Even to the fine detail of that scene of Shizuku falling off her chair at her desk out of frustration and just giving up on the floor among the scattered pages of her efforts. Used to do the exact same too lol. Stuff like that is the reason the movie is so good, and it teaches an amazing lesson too, about how nothing comes easy and we have to work hard to cut and polish ourselves like a diamond in the rough, and it isn't easy but we'll be ok amazing movie.
This is some absolutely gorgeous music. I've always loved ghibli movies but for some inexplicable reason never strayed from the works directed by Miyazaki. Watched this movie a little over a week ago and I can't get this beautiful masterpiece of out my head. And this incredible music is a huge part of what makes the movie so fantastic for me. I'm tied between this and Castle in the Sky for my favorite Ghibli film. These two movies pull so many emotions out of me, but this one is truly special with how connected I felt with Shizuku (favorite Ghibli character) and narrative. A bittersweet movie, but with a lot of the sweet part. A really emotional ride. Its soundtrack is seriously doing something to my heart, too. Like I actually feel something physical happening in my chest.

It's very relatable to normal lives because of its realism and characters feel like you and your friendsans the environment of neighbourhood and school is very similar to our normal lives. I think that's why it remains close to our heart... Those who feel doubted about what to do in their life and or even hesitate to take first step towards ur dream should watch it... Like the elder man everyone talent is like raw emerald you just need try and polish it out carefully...Really good anime and story ❤

Watched this movie a few days ago, and it's become my favourite one. It resonated with me, and I realy related to main character. There were also just so many sweet moments of warmth and of motivation, both from Seia and Shiro, to continue following your dreams and that it's ok if your art isn't perfect. That it's okay to give yourself time to learn more, grow and get better at what you love.

When I was about to go to college, it suddenly hit me that this is it...this is the final frontier before my first step into the real world. Would I make something out of myself or struggle and die nothing? I suddenly had a eureka moment where I looked back in my life and see all the things I took for granted and see how easily it could all go away. I watched this movie a few months later...and thank god I did. Shizuku's struggle make me feel seen and heard. Like someone put the words I can't express and put it into this character and movie. I feel that if I watched this movie earlier...I wouldn't really emphatized with it as much and if I do watch it a few years later, I would be too much of a bitter old person to accept its message.
