Seriously, this video has just that of views? With what was presented in the video we would spend around 600 reais only. THANK U SO MUCH! ❤️❤️❤️

a little tip also, there is a program where you can use a third oculus touch as a hip tracker if you are on the cv1. very useful, and great tracking as it typical from the cv1. i highly recommend it to anyone who has a 3rd cv1 camera also for that 360 degree tracking similar in quality to the vive trackers from my experience. also, with 3 controllers, using driver4vr, if you ever got a new headset, such as a quest 2 you could use the 3 oculus touch controllers from the cv1 as full body. i saw you using the cv1 also cai! this method from what i have been told was indistinguishable from vive trackers i have been told, so i just wanted to mention it.
@@feather9658 i still use the cv1 for beat saber. Tracking is worse on the q2. Resolution is an upgrade for sure but not as “wow” as i expected in the sense that i thought it would feel like a huge upgrade like everybody online says. I stopped noticing after a few days. Text is way better on the q2 but for other stuff not as “wow” for me. Interestingly, my wife hates the q2 and insists it gives her headaches and eyestrain so she went back to using the cv1 as a daily driver. There is also a noticeable downgrade in build quality on the q2. Controllers feel super cheap. If you read a lot of text or play flight sims, then q2 is a decent upgrade. For everything else I’d say stick with the cv1 for another year or so. Keep in mind though that my opinion seems to be in the minority.
This is awesome, thanks for making this video! I've been looking at getting full body, and this is perfect. Back when I ran an Oculus DK2, I did something similar with move controllers for vr hand controllers (since that was really the only option at the time). But since upgrading to a Vive I put my 2 controllers and 3 eyes in storage, so now I already have almost all of the hardware for this!
I was never really interested in fbt cause all the methods were too expensive for me, but I actually already have 3 moves and 2 cameras, so after picking up another eye camera or two I'll probably be trying this out. I appreciate the video man.
Love this man, I've been using full body psmove for long time. Works great but always a hassle to setup. Finally a good tutorial. I'll definitely link people in need to you
It works with any number of pseyes: Single cam is dk2 levels of tracking, more or less. Two cam can work like a kinect range-wise. Three cams get you 360 with some occlusion. You can actually get Two camera 360 tracking by having one camera in front and one camera in the back. It'll just be a lot easier for occlusion to happen.
I have a mixed vr system and fully set up vive trackers, but this was so informative to watch. I know that I'll never do it (as I dont have any of the equipment), but this was so interesting to watch! Great video :D
Looks like there are a few of you guys interested in your own modified hip controllers! With my design you will have to heavily modify your controllers, even doing some soldering to extend a few wires. On TOP of 3D printing the case for it on your own. If you're up to the task, here is a link to the GitHub repository with all the 3D files and more! Tutorial coming soon! (Please read the README) github.com/CaiVR/PSmove-Fullbody-CAD-Files
Hi Cai! Thought i'd return to the video and leave a comment with my experience after an evening of testing! I purchased everything said in the video immediately after watching, found three controllers online at £100 and 4 cameras at a local CEX shop for £3.50 each. Bargain i'd say! Everything arrived this morning and i've been testing it out. For the amount you're paying, i'm really impressed! I ran into a couple issues throughout setup but used some common sense and re-calibrated and ta-dah! We are now working with Full body tracking. Sometimes it's still a bit buggy and occasionally it'll slow down and need a restart, but overall the quality and tracking is 100x better than standard emulated kinect trackers. Just thought i'd leave this comment as I guess you post this video but never really hear people talk about going through with the option. I'm here to say it works remarkably well for the price. Thanks again for this amazing, in-depth tutorial, never ran into any serious problem and followed step-by step. Keep up the great content. *EDIT* if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
I met you earlier today and let me just say the quality of your tutorial blew me away! from the looks of it your channel is criminally underrated and i can't wait to see what you do next !
DUDE! This video to me is literally a ray of hope. Here I was, about to save up for slimevr AND wait at least another 6 months to get it, it looked like the most affordable option (besides Kinect, which I have, and it sucks). Lo and behold, I find this video, and I am for sure doing this for FBT. The tracking looks better than slimevr, let alone Kinect; and it costs LESS?!?! Btw, your video was very concise, well-edited, and even funny. Thanks for making this, you've got me so excited for this viable fbt alternative.
That's actually a really smart use of the PSVR stuff. My brother owns a PSVR and I have a PCVR index setup. I might have to borrow his old move controllers and the PSVR camera. We love jank here, sometimes the jank solutions are better than $100+ solutions. I'll probably try this to see if I end up wanting the Tundra trackers. I know that not a lot of games support is so I'd have to try it first.
Love solutions like this that make use of old hardware mainly because im a hoarder and still own 90% of the stuff to make this work but secondly its just a great way to breath life into things no longer used for there intended purpose!
Your video really has a lot of effort maybe too much! It's impressive how you managed to get your info on this! And making use of something really affordable. Once i get the tools i'll happily try this and get into the vr chat. Honestly it's a hell of a video. Good work!!
Wow! I just ran by pure chance into the iVRy VR alternative on Steam and have gone down the rabbit hole looking at VR alternatives. I had no idea such a thing had been going on for a few years except for one separate DIY project I followed on Discord for a while but the cost of all the hardware would've been as much if not more that a brand new Oculus. I know many people blast these VR alternatives, especially the ones using a smartphone as a screen, as being a frustrating and low quality experience compared to a Vive or Oculus which is nearly plug and play but I love these kinds of setups to use what you already have. Only thing I need to get are a few more PSEyes, the necessary software and that's it. I might splurge on a real VR system someday but for now this is a good way to test it out and just see if in fact I would use it much or if after the novelty wore off it would just collect dust. Great video. Subscribed.
I paid only 60 euros to do this and it works really well. If you don't want to spend too much money but want Full Body Tracking this is the right remedy.
I'm not sure if you still read these comments but I just had to say thank you so so much for making such a fantastic tutorial, there simply isn't any other resource nearly as good for getting everything working from start to finish
using ALVR for us quest 1/2 users allows you to have room centered tracking space, which will put you right where you were when the headset went to sleep, should help with this, vive trackers, or index controllers
I have never seen any video with such good explanation for something that looks complicated, you really did a perfect job and for the first time I actually want to try making something DIY! Keep up the good work, I wish you really get more attention on youtube. And if I get what you said, it would also work with Quest 2?!
Thanks so much! This video seems to be reaching a lot of people and I'm really happy about it. And indeed it does work with Quest 2, but only through SteamVR
always thought about this but i dont know why i never looked it up (maybe i was afraid that no one tried it and im too lazy to make it myself) im so glad this can be done lol, being a cheap ass is really rewarding sometimes
22:11 I have a question. How we’re you able to tie the controllers to the track straps? The little metal piece that’s used to usually spin the vive trackers on to tie them is in the way of me tying my controllers. is there any way you took it off or anything or what did you do?
I’ve been running Kinect fbt and custom led fbt for a few months now and they work but not well so this is a amazing alternative for fbt and I’ll definitely be coming back soon to set it all up thanks for this video and enjoy a new sub!
Its really difficult to pin down a listing for my generic trackstraps, because there are always several different ones up at the same time and they come and go very often. The simplest way of finding a listing for them is just searching 'Trackstraps' on Amazon or ebay, and finding the best priced one for you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :P
for people who are thinking the tracking will be awful, as a psvr user, the tracking is good enough, it tracks well with only one camera and only really is bad when its out of the cameras sight, but with 4 cameras on each side of ur room, it will be amazing and probably just as good as vive trackers
Without modifying the controllers, not great. With quick movement the magnetometer data gets screwy and the orientation drifts quite a bit until it becomes still again. Plus their awkward shape doesn't do much to stop tracker jiggle, I will say that much lol. You might get better performance with stock PS4 PSmove controllers rather than the stock PS3 versions I use, because of the updated electronics. But it is possible to significantly improve the magnetometer issue by removing the vibration motors, because they have magnets in them that the magnetometer has to fight against. Still unsure as to whether they'll be suited to dancing even after that mod, since I have yet to do that to my feet controllers for the purpose of making a vid soon comparing heheh ;) TL;DR : Not great when stock, PS4 version probably > PS3 version though, can mod to make better though and am waiting to experiment w/ that to see :P Hope this info dump helped in any way lol
@@Cai_VR Thanks for your input, i've just purchased everything you said in the video last night and picked it up this morning, i'll be running my own tests too and see what's best. The info definitely helps! Last question, how about laying down? Thanks again!
The PSmove controllers work exactly like vive trackers do, just they are a bit more sensitive to occlusion with their bulb being the single tracking point and all. I usually find that placing the controller on my back is the best for avoiding occlusion by my arms and legs in regular use; which does mean I have to flip it around to my front and recalibrate when I want to lay down. But it works 100% flawlessly after doing that, and you can choose any number of your own positions for it that might be better for how you use them :)
At 23:23, where the trackers were in kind of a ball together, I can't get them to basically separate. I'm not sure what to do after spawning them and they don't come apart to calibrate them
Just funny, that I've been trying to pair my controllers with psmoveservice and just 1 day before this video I tried with psmove api. But still one question: how to celar the ps move controller pair history, cuz its not reconnecting for some reason and when i connect and pair it automaticly disconnects after pairing succesful. Underrated video
To answer your immediate question, you can find the controller .json files in the PSmove service's appdata folder (open start menu and search'%appdata%' then go to the PSMoveService folder). You can then delete any of those files if you want to refresh them, because they'll be regenerated the next time you use them. I've never encountered the issue as you've described exactly, but if the PSmove API refuses to pair other controllers one after another. You can try another USB port with your cable as that has helped me before. But if that doesn't work, after pairing a controller, disconnect (but dont unpair) it from bluetoooth, and make sure that the next controller you're trying to pair is the only one connected to your PC. Sometimes the PSmove API just gets confused with multiple controllers connected to the PC, wether its through bluetooth or the USB cable. That should allow each controller to be paired properly, and after youre done you can just reconnect them all normally and it will work like there was nothing wrong. Hope that any of that was useful :)
I appreciate all these cheaper fbt solution videos, great job. However, I feel that if you are bothered to go through all of this to get fbt, you would also be bothered to spend the amount of money it takes for higher quality, base station + vive trackers fbt. Just my opinion, of course
Yeah, the Base station tracked solution is definitely king in ease of use and tracking quality for sure. But you do pay the price for it lol. I first tried this option because there was literally no way I could afford base stations and trackers, and when you're in that position its 100% worth the extra effort. Plus after doing all of the initial setup you don't have to do it again, and you can boot it up and start using it right away in your regular play sessions. All very worthy trade-offs IMO for what I would say is 95% as good as the Vive trackers. What kind of FBT methods do you have experience with?
@@Cai_VR I personally have experience using phones through owotrack and just vive trackers as I already had my own base station setup before i had fbt. it is really cool how many cheap or even free methods of using fbt people have discovered
@@Cai_VR I'm genuinely considering doing this because I was given PSVR as a Christmas gift last year, and unfortunately I just never use it. I have two PSVR controllers collecting dust. All I'd have to do is get one more, and the 4 cameras, and I can get rockin' and rollin' for only 100 bucks or so. With the hours I'd be putting into getting things set up, it'd pay for itself in labor alone.
@@nanakixiii3 The reason I tried it out myself was quite similar lol. A friend practically gave me his old PSVR controllers and I wanted to see if they would work on PC. Low and behold they do! Would reccomend trying it out if anything!
Bruh, this is the SlimeVR's Enchanced Core Set which indeed starts going to the 200s but there is also cheaper options like just Core Set that is 160 or something
Yep, I intend to explore slimeVR very soon, but as I've said a few times I wanted to compare equivalent capabilities. And the lower tiers don't provide foot rotation, which was an important distinction to me 😅
I fell into 2 problems: 1. Despite following every step, two of the controllers are jittering around in the steamvr playspace while one functions alright. 2. Sometimes the controllers end up turning off randomly, but I feel that is probably a battery issue and I just need to charge it. Im just leaving that problem there just in case it's something a bit more major. If there are any solutions to this I would greatly appreciate it :)
You mean tracking example footage? No not much, I was thinking of getting some out soon though. I've been quite busy recently otherwise I might have some more videos out lol.
Yes, but if you're trying to use them for 360 tracking, I would recommend against that. Experiment with it and see what works for you best, and maybe get more cams later down the line :)
Hey idk if u remember but I got it figured out but idk how to tell what percent the controllers are and one of my controllers light doesn’t pop up when I plug it in but it still turns on so I hope it’s charging
They cant charge by a normal usb charger. Has to be connected to like a computer or game console or something similar. The controllers have to detect a device through the data wires in a usb cable to charge. Dumb i know. If there is a flashing blue light near the bottom of the controller, its charging. If there is no light, it's fully charged.
Although cost me more than 140$~ I love the tracking quality, for me it cost roughly a bit over 200$ (I did buy controllers and Cameras seperately instead of in packs)
@@neonuser456 first time can be tedious. Like an hour. After the controllers are paired, you do have to do an occasional calibration if they seem off. Going through a full calibration like gyroscope, magnetometer, and camera position tracking can take like 20 or so minutes if you know what you're doing. The controllers can last for hours during use. Sad part is you have to leave them connected to a computer or something cause they wont charge on a normal usb phone charger. Something about the data lines have to be detected to some type of device. Unless you find old playstation move controller charging stations. I just use a usb hub to my pc to charge them all while i do other stuff.
I'm having a difficult time with this. I can pair the controller but after a few seconds it unpairs and the LED shuts off. This happens with all my controllers. I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling bluetooth drivers. Using a usb bluetooth adaptor, using my mobo's bluetooth. disabling each and trying individually. I can't get the controller to stay paired for more than 10-20 seconds.
What are those move holders you have on your feet? You mentioned and showed zipties in the tutorial but I cannot get them to work at all, before noticing you had gray like holders in later clips. Are they printed or can I get those somewhere?
I'm getting stuck at the config tool step, after I connect the controllers and close out cmd prompt and open the admin and config tool it says "No connected useable controllers" in controller settings
Did some digging, and my first guess would be that your controllers might not be charged enough? This seems to have been an issue with the PS4 versions of the move controllers, so if you're using those that might be it. Seems like they're quite fickle compared to the PS3 versions, so if your issue persists I would recommend selling them and trying to get PS3 Versions. Hope that helps :/
@@Cai_VR I have two Bluetooth drivers in the device manager, when I download the one for the USB a Qualcomm one has to be uninstalled, but I can only reinstall the Qualcomm one if I uninstall the USB driver, and the controllers only work right with the Qualcomm driver, but I can only connect one at a time to my pc.
I'n trying to connect the psmove controllers to the pc to play vr games on my pc without having to buy a new vr. Using the app the pair option doesn't work, but i will try to do it like you said in the video (with the cmd)
@@Cai_VR I calculated the cost again it was actually just 53€ what I used: 5x Wemos D1Mini =14€ 5x 2000mah 3.4v batteries (model 103450) =24€ 5x TP4056 li-ion charger module =2€ 8x MPU 6050 =11€ it's only that cheap if you buy MPU 6050 boards (these boards detect the movement you make) the reason that they are so cheap is they have a lot of drifting (that's what other people say, I didn't notice that much drift) if you want to use the best from the best you have to buy BNO085 sensor boards but they are currently extremely expensive because of chip shortage (currently one BNO085 board is 50€ or more and you need at least 5)
For two days now I have probably dedicated 8-10 hours trying to get my damn Move controllers to connect to my PC and while your method does allow them to pair. They still don’t basically do anything. I launch the control tool and it just stays “trying to connect” if I have the controls on, and if I turn them off and try to turn them on after the fact it just doesn’t do anything once a try to do anything such as calibrating or even changing the color. I keep getting a “Morpheus” error on my PSMoveService.
Im using a mix of ps3 and ps4 versions, the ps3 version seems to celebrate fine but the PS4 versions are being difficult. When ever I try to calibrate the PS4 versions they say “magnetometer disabled” and I don’t know what’s causing it, I’ve tried pairing again which they do but still nothing. If you have any suggestions that’d be great thanks
The PS4 version doesn't actually need a magnetometer in it because of the updated IMU, so you can just skip the magnetometer step! My bad for not mentioning it in the video, I thought the config tool would mention that.
@@Cai_VR Thanks Alot. Also I've been on the kinect to vr discord quite a bit recently and the actual devs of the software claim you're using black magic, essentially to get tracking as accurate as you have. Is there anything else you've done to get such good accuracy? What would you recommend for the height and angle of the trackers? I've also noticed you have mentioned that taking the rumblers out of the controllers could boost the accuracy of the magnetometers. lastly, I'm having alot of drifting issues and this is why I'm asking all of this. It's not insanely bad but it's not good for anything that lasts longer than 30 minutes, sometimes i have to recalibrate within the first 15. Is this just because I'm not using a better mounting solution like a trackstrap or belt?
Really? I've been talked about by the devs? Lmao, I guess I shouldn't be surprised with how this video has taken off. That much was already a surprise to me. For tracking accuracy space-wise I reccomend turning the lights off, but not just that, calibrating the Controller Colours and Playspace in the same lighting conditions you'll be playing in. That always helps improve tracking, but isn't necessary as you've seen in some of the example clips. For the placement of the cameras, I've found that 30°-45° tilt is usually ideal for my 2m x 2m playspace. Always ensuring the cameras have good overlap is pretty much essential for good 360° tracking too. I'm not sure how larger playspaces will fare because of the lower resolution of the cameras, but that is one thing I can see being troublesome. And yes you are completely correct that taking out the rumblers from the controllers does noticably boost the magnetometer accuracy. I've only done it in my hip controller because I was saving that comparison for another video coming soon, but it is the most accurate of my controllers orientation wise. As for your drifting issue I am not sure. Check if you've set all the controller filters to what I showed at 13:14 , thats the only thing I can immediately see causing drifting. If you're using PS4 version move controllers they don't have magnetometers in them, so that could possibly be a lead. But I don't own any PS4 versions so I cant really say exactly if they even do that in the first place. If it's your mounting solution causing the drift you should notice the controllers themselves physically moving out of place. So if its that just try and mount them more securely. I hope that any of this might be helpful!
I had trouble too. You gotta use a cable to connect controllers to your PC to pair them. I had to do one at a time. You need the third party program to pair them.
I recieved 2 Vive Trackers for Christmas, rather than 3. I plan to get a move controller from my dad to use as the 3rd point so I don’t have to shell out like 150 fucking dollars on one single tracker
How do you connect your ps4 motion controller o have only 2 ps3 motion controllers so i have to use a ps4 one for the waist but it connects too fast to the software (also windows 11) that it doesnt give it tome to connect to the software 😅
I have a old rift that still works but i use quest 2 now but i dont have full tracking yet how can i use that option that u was talking about with the controller's I'm kind of interested to learn more from yea if u have the time. Also ty for your time explaining how this one works.
It’s only letting me connect one controller at a time like I connected all of them but 2 out of the 3 doesn’t connect and when I try to connect it it said error connecting to psmove #2
Yeah I can sure, but I will warn you that they were only used for prototyping by me, never went beyond that stage, and you'll have to print them yourself. They're not purchasable online if that's what you're after. I wouldn't even bother with the foot controller ones, because they're much worse than just Velcro tying the controllers directly to the trackstraps. I know this from experience. And the custom hip case is going to require significant modification to the controller for it even to fit inside, is going to be difficult to print and assemble, and also is going to be more annoying to calibrate. I don't think I'll be able to help you with it much either unfortunately. I'll dig the files up later for you if you still want them, but you'll probably be mostly on your own sorry. What format would you like? .f3z so you can edit the CAD? Or just STL so you can just print right away?
So I managed to get everything to work but as soon as I get in vr and turn around 180 the trackers are too far away , I have tried doing the whole calibration process 3 times and have gotten absolutely no where:( does it ha e to be a perfect square because the way I have it set up rn is a slight rectangle at 335 cm x 289 cm any help would be greatly appreciated!
The playspace doesn't have to be any particular shape for it to work, so maybe while you're calibrating in K2VR you could try offsetting it a bit forward to counter it skewing away when you turn? I used to face the similar issues before I got the hang of calibrating it myself, and I've found the trackers don't actually appear where you would think they do lol. If that doesn't help, it could be that the scale of the PSmove playspace is too large compared to your headset's one. That could be for a number of reasons, but next time you recalibrate with the paper try offsetting your controllers closer to the middle mark when you put them down, to trick it into thinking your playspace is smaller maybe? Kind of a janky solution but I think it could work, hope it helps :)

If you're up to the task, here is a link to the GitHub repository with all the 3D files and more! Tutorial coming soon! (Please read the README)

That would be awesome, thank you.

Thank you for this comment, I was looking for one of these
I met you earlier today and let me just say the quality of your tutorial blew me away! from the looks of it your channel is criminally underrated and i can't wait to see what you do next !
im so happy i kept those damn controllers for so many years lmao, thank you will share my experience doing this soon
dude same as the guy named @missa said i already have vive trackeds but ur video was so good i even watch it all keep the good work man
Thank you so much! I know the pain of the Kinect all too well lol. I hope you have fun trying this out!
you can make slimevr 5+3 set for less than $100

Great video! Ill have to get the parts before this video inevitably blows up.
Just got done with the whole setup and it works really well! Thanks a lot for this great tutorial!
Hello, can I ask you about how it works for you? I really want to do this but I am afraid about the quality
You deserve way more subscribers for this
This is both genius and goofy af, finally the playstation move will have a purpose in 2021
Your video really has a lot of effort maybe too much!
Subscribed.
Finally got is set up fairly decent tonight! I'll take a couple pictures of the setup and join your discord to share when I get the time here!
Amazing quality video ! Keep up the great work
I paid only 60 euros to do this and it works really well. If you don't want to spend too much money but want Full Body Tracking this is the right remedy.
Dude this is awesome. Someone get this man some more Subscribers!!!
Great video, kinda makes me want to try this lol, even more cameras pointing at Me let's go
I have never seen any video with such good explanation for something that looks complicated, you really did a perfect job and for the first time I actually want to try making something DIY!

Also recently you can use driver for vr to use cv1 controllers as fbt
22:11 I have a question. How we’re you able to tie the controllers to the track straps? The little metal piece that’s used to usually spin the vive trackers on to tie them is in the way of me tying my controllers. is there any way you took it off or anything or what did you do?
this is actually really intresting and something i will be trying myself. you earned my sub and eternal gratittude
I’ve been running Kinect fbt and custom led fbt for a few months now and they work but not well so this is a amazing alternative for fbt and I’ll definitely be coming back soon to set it all up thanks for this video and enjoy a new sub!
Tysm your tutorial is so good i taked time to find a clear one
there's a full body tracking filter on tiktok and its surprisingly good
This is an amazing tutorial! But do you have a link for the straps you used for the controllers?
Its really difficult to pin down a listing for my generic trackstraps, because there are always several different ones up at the same time and they come and go very often.
The simplest way of finding a listing for them is just searching 'Trackstraps' on Amazon or ebay, and finding the best priced one for you.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help :P
@Cai VR i couldn't find anything that looked good, but ill keep looking, thanks!
for poeple with tracking issues. i put the cameras to high in my play space for the first time, its kinda help to put them down
That's perfect lmao I've had my ps eye camera and move controllers for nearly 11 years
400 hundred subs you need more than that
I’m watching this knowing damn well I don’t have the room for this
Now i need to figure this out with wii remotes.
for people who are thinking the tracking will be awful, as a psvr user, the tracking is good enough, it tracks well with only one camera and only really is bad when its out of the cameras sight, but with 4 cameras on each side of ur room, it will be amazing and probably just as good as vive trackers
Hey man! How's dancing with these? Love the video, keep up the incredible content.
Still unsure as to whether they'll be suited to dancing even after that mod, since I have yet to do that to my feet controllers for the purpose of making a vid soon comparing heheh ;)
TL;DR : Not great when stock, PS4 version probably > PS3 version though, can mod to make better though and am waiting to experiment w/ that to see :P
Hope this info dump helped in any way lol
I'm gonna use this to livestream me dancing in VR now, I hope you know that.
@@Cai_VR Thanks a lot! I will try it asap
Can you also show us how you made the hip tracker? That’d be absolutely wonderful lol
Check pinned comment :)
I was thinking about that idea but using 2 camera face to face for avoid "dead zone"
im one hundred percent doing this. this seems fun
Would reccomend trying it out if anything!
was considering using this for knees and elbow tracking since i already bit the bullet and got vive 3.0s
really i need a camera to use the move controllers?
Well yeah, that's how the tracking works.
I might actually be able to use this set up. What did you use for the straps for your waist and feet?
I don't where our PS3 camera and controllers are rn 😅
Bruh, this is the SlimeVR's Enchanced Core Set which indeed starts going to the 200s but there is also cheaper options like just Core Set that is 160 or something
yeah and it is still in development so the quality will only increase, unlike this because it uses the old ps tracking
Yep, I intend to explore slimeVR very soon, but as I've said a few times I wanted to compare equivalent capabilities. And the lower tiers don't provide foot rotation, which was an important distinction to me 😅
Can you use different cameras than just the ps3 cameras
Thats much better than NoloVR
I fell into 2 problems: 1. Despite following every step, two of the controllers are jittering around in the steamvr playspace while one functions alright. 2. Sometimes the controllers end up turning off randomly, but I feel that is probably a battery issue and I just need to charge it. Im just leaving that problem there just in case it's something a bit more major.
If there are any solutions to this I would greatly appreciate it :)
before i could afford a vive i did the this with a phone steaming pc vr chat, interesting i could reuse it for full body.
Hello, do you perhaps have more footage/videos of you using this fbt setup?
You mean tracking example footage? No not much, I was thinking of getting some out soon though. I've been quite busy recently otherwise I might have some more videos out lol.
i have a question is better to put your hip led in front of camera or behind your back?
Can I do this with 2 camera's?
Hey can I ask, how long does it take to setup before playing?
Well, i mean you can get the controller for cheap in a pawn shop for like $10 so the total cost is like $60 for me lmao.
no one:
me watching the whole video knowing that i dont have a vr neither a cam or anything else
I can't get the controller to stay paired for more than 10-20 seconds.
that exact same thing happened to me and idk why it happens
Please make/link a tutorial for the custom waist tracker
@@Cai_VR Thanks, I'll try it out.
@@Cai_VR I charged mine to full but it still didn't work, though I am using 3 ps3 move controllers
they connect to my pc just fine, and i have the same exact bluetooth usb that you had in the video
I am subbing this is great thanks
I was going to do this but the ps3 eye cameras have tripled in cost.
my DIY SlimeVr tracker set (5+3) was around 70€
Oh nice! What components did you use?
@@Cai_VR I calculated the cost again it was actually just 53€
what I used:
5x Wemos D1Mini =14€
5x 2000mah 3.4v batteries (model 103450) =24€
5x TP4056 li-ion charger module =2€
8x MPU 6050 =11€
it's only that cheap if you buy MPU 6050 boards (these boards detect the movement you make) the reason that they are so cheap is they have a lot of drifting (that's what other people say, I didn't notice that much drift) if you want to use the best from the best you have to buy BNO085 sensor boards but they are currently extremely expensive because of chip shortage (currently one BNO085 board is 50€ or more and you need at least 5)
I keep getting a “Morpheus” error on my PSMoveService.
that was a great tutorial, thanks
Im using a mix of ps3 and ps4 versions, the ps3 version seems to celebrate fine but the PS4 versions are being difficult. When ever I try to calibrate the PS4 versions they say “magnetometer disabled” and I don’t know what’s causing it, I’ve tried pairing again which they do but still nothing. If you have any suggestions that’d be great thanks
The PS4 version doesn't actually need a magnetometer in it because of the updated IMU, so you can just skip the magnetometer step! My bad for not mentioning it in the video, I thought the config tool would mention that.
Question though, How did you turn your psmove controller into the... thing you put around your waist I want one for my hip tracker too.
Check pinned comment :)
Which is better PS Move or CV1 Controllers for Full Body?
i need help like so much i want to test it out but its just not connecting and lighting up when i plug the usb in or use bluetooth for that matter
I wonder if there's anyway to use this method with non PS eye webcams or phone cameras for cheap mocap in Unreal Engine
I have a old rift that still works but i use quest 2 now but i dont have full tracking yet how can i use that option that u was talking about with the controller's I'm kind of interested to learn more from yea if u have the time. Also ty for your time explaining how this one works.
Still researching that one, have been a bit busy recently but the vids are spinning up. Should be something relatively soon about it!
It’s only letting me connect one controller at a time like I connected all of them but 2 out of the 3 doesn’t connect and when I try to connect it it said error connecting to psmove #2
Hey dude can you throw me a link to the 3d printed holders for the controllers you are using on your feet and belt??
I'm getting a VR set on Tuesday and I'm using my own money
