I saw them in concert last year, and they STILL sing like this! It was amazing. I don't know a lot of their music, but a friend needed someone to go with, and she asked me. It was an incredibly wonderful decision to go!! I do love this song!😊
The studio version is better, not because Dennis didn't do a great job live. But simply because it's a very personal song and the noise from the audience got in the way. Sometimes we need silence to appreciate the beauty. Yes it's a birthday gift for his wife and they are still married. More than 40 years!
I thought it sounded like the studio version. I'm not a super fan, but I was honestly thinking that they added the cheering over the song for the video. Damn they were really great live!
@@kierstenridgway4634 Well, I didn't think about that, maybe you're right. But if it's the case, they did a disservice, imo. All that noise didn't help.
In Big Daddy, they played 3 Styx songs and were part of the script. He mentioned Styx several times in the movie and mentioned Tommy Shaw specifically.
💖💖💖 One of my favorite Styx songs. But there is a l-o-n-g list of favorites, lol. Try "Lady", "Renegade", "Grand Illusion", "Come Sail Away", "Too Much Time On My Hands" and "Blue Collar Man".
Both the offical music videos of "Mr Roboto" and "Don't Let it End" from the rock opera concept album "Kilroy Was Here" are great next stops to explore Styx.
He wrote it for his wife for her birthday I believe. He sang it at the party and their agent or record company heard it and said you have to record this and of course they did and it was a hit!❤
A pure ballad so not usual Styx even though they have a wide variety of song styles ("Boat On The River" is an outlier) with 3 songwriters/lead singers. Lawrence Gowan does a great job with Styx songs(with band since 1999). The current lineup will be back on tour starting in January - playing the Venetian in Vegas for a number of shows - I'll be there. Refer to my suggestions in your reaction to "Suite: Madame Blue". Maybe next with a Tommy Shaw song "Man In The Wilderness", "Fooling Yourself", "Blue Collar Man", or "Crystal Ball". List from before: "Man In The Wilderness" - deep cut by Tommy Shaw (Extended version: th-cam.com/video/biKrDFBp0ns/w-d-xo.html ). "Lady" - their first hit, by Dennis DeYoung (the lead on "Suite: Madame Blue"). "Fooling Yourself" - A Tommy Shaw song that is the song that got me into Styx. "CASTLE WALLS" - deep cut and deep meaning personally for Dennis. "Crystal Ball" - A song Tommy wrote as an all acoustic one before joining Styx where it was morphed into a Styx song. "A Day" - A jazz-rock fusion song by John Curulewski(the original member before Tommy Shaw). "Queen Of Spades" - A hard-rocking song by Dennis. "Snowblind" - A blue beat song by James "JY" Young and Tommy.
He wrote this for his wife (Dennis DeYoung) Styx don’t play this anymore without Dennis in the group…. It’s too personal and respect Dennis wishes ❤ still going strong ! Seen them twice in the last year ❤️🔥🎸 …… but they still play “Lady” and that was Dennis love song to his Lady !!
It's about his childhood sweetheart who he's still married to and he's 76.

Dennis DeYoung is an awesome singer! Thanks for the reaction.
I heard he wrote this song for his wife's birthday and sung it for the first time a at her birthday party among family and friends!❤️🔥

One of Styx's best songs. It was such a great song to double-skate to at the skating rink. May I suggest "Lady" by the Little River Band.
YES!!!!!
Must do Lady- Little River Band!
the skating rink...omg, yes...such memories. such a wonderful fun fulfilling no internet cell phone media free childhood.

I was pretty young when I saw that movie 😅 don't remember much about it except some of the jokes
DD will always be the voice of Styx....

Slow dancing in the HS gym after the football game.
I've seen Styx so many times I can't remember! 1977 was the first time!
Despite being a metal and prog fan, I always thought this was a great song. Thanks for the reaction.
I love this song. Such beautiful voices and music!
🎶🎶🎶😘
Check out "Radio Silence" from The Mission by Styx - this one is sung by Tommy Shaw and is from 2017
How many of us fell in love listening to Babe 🙏🍁
Your next Styx should be Castle Walls. A rocker with great harmonies.
He wrote it for his wife for her birthday I believe. He sang it at the party and their agent or record company heard it and said you have to record this and of course they did and it was a hit!❤
Not my kind of music usually, but I've always loved this song💖

This song was popular at the same time as one of my dear friends lost her husband tragically ….oh my…this brings back that sad and shocking time
Try "Lady" probably one of the first rock ballads. ❤
Check out “Lady”
Great reaction to a great song. I would suggest you do these songs by Styx. Lady, and The Best Of Times.

Making out music right there ❤
Soft rock classic. Now let's go a little harder with them. "Suite Madame Blue". Studio version please. 🙏
Unfortunately this is the only song that is played off Paradise Theater. Criminal
