Meet Ivar, our 8 week old german shepherd puppy. Life will never be the same! 💗
As new puppy parents we're busy doing things like house training, puppy proofing the home, adjusting to new routines and lifestyle, and figuring out how to use the crate and how to crate train. It's all a huge learning curve for all of us; no matter how prepared you think you are to welcome a new little one into the home you're never fully prepared it seems! Ivar the GSD puppy is settling in nicely; he's a lot of work right now but we love him to bits and he's going to grow up into such a lovely companion and best friend for us. 💗 🐶

German Shepherds are the best!’! Congratulations you picked well. I have 2 and be had them for 30 years. Training is a must. Many times they out smart their owners but that’s where training comes in.

I just got a four month old Pomeranian puppy and I’m so exhausted from taking him out every few hours even at night. Potty training is exhausting. Congratulations on your new puppy!
Thank you so much! Congrats to you as well! Honestly, no, haha I have no tips except try to keep a consistent schedule if you can like wake same time sleep same time, meals same times, planned exercises, obedience training… and watch the dog not the clock. Some people say take them out every 2 hours on the hour, I take him out when he either woke up, played hard, or ate about 15-20 mins ago.

Kitty is not a fan haha but she’s slowly coming around.
He is the cutest! You are such a good fur mom. I just want to mention there are some warnings about the Kongs. Dogs can get their tongue stuck in them and tragically vet’s can do nothing but put the dog down. I’m not sure how common this is but I have seen some very sad stories and warnings online.

Thank you! We’ve always wanted a GSD, or a large breed dog similar. I had one as a child as well. If I work right now I have someone with him all day long. He’s still too young and fresh from his mom to stay by himself and we’re not crate trained yet

How is your cat coping? Does he still sleep on the bed with you?
She is not impressed but slowly coming wround. No he doesn’t. He sleeps on the floor in the bedroom on a dog bed beside the bed. Sometimes I go down and snuggle him for a bit. 💕

We all really wanted a dog for a long time. We kept talking ourselves out of the commitment but finally we decided to go ahead and do it 💕
