I was 5 this year and I'm glad I was just old enough to remember most of these albums, songs, cartoons, movies, and tv shows in REAL TIME, especially Shrek 2, The SpongeBob Movie, The Incredibles, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Usher's "Confessions" album, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Ciara, Mario's "Let Me Love You", and Outkast. A time where you still had to watch videos in rotation on TV, (no VEVO on TH-cam), you had to buy the movies you loved on DVD or tape, and you still had to buy CDs to listen to music (cause streaming wasn't really a thing yet). it's such an honor to have these experiences forever stamped in my early childhood and in my memories🩷🩷🥰🥰🤞🏽
Yessss I agree. I believe I turned 9 that year so we're not too far apart in age. I remember playing on my Gameboy Advance all the time. Shrek 2 & The Incredibles were my favorites that year as I remember seeing both in theaters. I miss watching all those music videos on TV. It's so crazy how advanced we are now. Like you said we went from DVD's & CD's to streaming sites. As much as I love streaming sites it's not the same to owning a physical body of work and seeing all the lyrics or behind the scenes footage.

Yes you know I had to. Maya & Miguel was a good show. I really enjoyed it as a kid and it was probably the last show I watched on PBS because I was starting to age out of those shows
@@phillinsogood i was born in 04 but i had two older brothers who gave me the best life experience also my parents going to New York on Christmas days was the best growing up in 2005-2010
Fun fact nipplegate was actually the start of youtube. The TH-cam creators wanted to watch the wardrobe malfunction but were having difficulty finding videos of it on the internet that they created TH-cam.
The TH-cam king has returned lol. Yes I did know that I’m mad I didn’t include in here. Justin really was trash for how he dismissed and humiliated Janet.
It also led to what many consider to be the greatest halftime show ever performed-after the backlash, the NFL decided to play it extra safe for the next 5-6 years by *only* booking classic rock acts (Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, etc.) and when 2007 rolled around, Prince was slated to be the headliner. Inconveniently enough, there happened to be a heavy downpour in Miami that night, but that didn’t stop Prince from putting on one hell of a concert, especially since the song he ended with was “Purple Rain.” Truly a legend who will be missed

Well happy or late 20th BDAY!!! Yea I feel old I was born in 95 so by this point in time I was a little kid. Usher, Beyonce, Ciara & Outkast were everywhere that year. Kids and teens today don't realize just how massive Britney was during this time. She was so popular during the 00's. I felt like they were trying to make her the next Madonna.

Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favorite films of that year, and my favorite episode of the Harry Potter series overall. Even regarding the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show incident at 4:43, it actually served as the inspiration for the creation of TH-cam the following year.
Yesss I actually recently watched the first Harry Potter films for the first time and I enjoyed the sequel. Yea that performance helped launch TH-cam which is pretty cool.
@@phillinsogood Interestingly, the third film was supposedly intended to be released in late 2003 but was delayed. @@colinroberts2060 That video will definitely get 1 billion views in due time. I’m happy they released it in 2004. It extends the lifespan of the film franchise but I also get why they rush them. Two reasons money & the kid actors age very quickly
@@phillinsogood Even then, they still got almost 10 years out of the initial release. 2004 is one of my favorite years in pop culture. Avril Lavigne’s Under My Skin album was a great and flourishing follow up to her first. Ashlee Simpson’s show and Autbiography album were everything, Pieces of Me was my favorite song of the year! Lindsay Lohan was that It girl with Mean Girls and Confessions. The Olsen Twins’ New York Minute came out. Cartoon Network entered the City era and one of my fave shows Fosters debuted. In WWE, Lita and Trish Stratus had the greatest women’s match of that generation and it became the first time that only women main evented Raw.
Yes a lot of great things happened this year. I remember as a kid listening to radio Disney and hearing Ashlee Simpson all the time. Lindsay Lohan was everywhere & CN debuted one of their best shows Fosters

You got me wanting to rank my years of the 2000’s 06 my favorite year just because of music but I remember 04 vividly it was the first time I moved to Florida from Stl and usher was everywhere this year
Yesss 2006 was a great year for music. I remember watching 106 & Park on BET. Yea Usher dominated 2004 and honestly a good handful of the 00’s as he had a total of 7 #1 singles between 2000 - 2009.
I remember the 2004 Fen TV logo I foundvthis video on Vbox7:Matsa(Az shte prosya) with the 2004 screenbug Just a white cyrillic letter F on the top right(which reads Fen TV in cyrillic)
I made a video on movies in 2004 with AI voices of Sonic, Amy Rose, Shadow and the special guests Shrek and SpongeBob. Another 2000s video i did was a podcast on the entire 2000s decade but 2004 in particular was brought up similar to your video.
No way, 2001 was THE year. Atlantis the Lost Empire. Matel was at it's peak with barbie and the hotel/doll houses. Cartoon Network had amazing shows on. Man I miss that year.
Yay welcome to your 20’s. It’s gunna be an amazing year. Stay true to yourself & don’t compare yourself to others. God loves you!! Yes 2004 was a wild time!
2004 was kind of a formative year for me pop culture-wise. Lost, Desperate Housewives, Veronica Mars, House M.D., Laguna Beach (which would later spawn The Hills), Drake & Josh, Ned's Declassified, Danny Phantom, Mean Girls, Napoleon Dynamite, The Notebook, White Chicks, Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, The Incredibles, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Usher's "Confessions," Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction, the launch of Facebook, Ashlee Simpson's SNL lip-synching fiasco, the final episode of Friends (R.I.P. Matthew Perry), Green Day's "American Idiot," so many things happened, good or bad, that are still relevant in our minds today as much as they were 20 years ago. What a time to be alive 😂 (Correction: The final episode of Everybody Loves Raymond aired in 2005, not 2004. Hope this helps.) "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." {Hebrews 11:1} 🙏🏾 I have a special suggestion for you. Would you please consider doing a year spotlight on 2008 in a future video?
Yes thanks for the comment & clarification on Raymond I knew I would get one thing wrong. 2004 was amazing literally so many major pop culture moments that had us all in a chokehold. The vibes were just immaculate. Love that scripture & yes I plan on making a 2008 video soon 😊
@@phillinsogood you’re right! the first song of theirs I remember hearing is Wake Me up When September Ends, and that wasn’t released as a radio single until 2005 lol
1. Everybody Loves Raymond ended in 2005, not 2004. 2. Christina Aguilera didn't host the 2003-04 SNL season finale. That was the Olsen Twins. 3. Speaking of SNL, you forgot to mention the debut of Debbie Downer or the Lindsay Lohan episode in general. 4. Another thing about SNL, the Janet/Justin flashboob thing wasn't the only thing that went wrong live in 2004. Ashlee Simpson caught lip synching when she went on SNL. 5. No games such as GTA: San Andreas?

@phillinsogood I'm from Detroit so I got to actually go to the pistons celebration with my dad. I hated high school so I'm so glad social media wasn't a big thing. I remember when facebook first came out and it was only for colleges (they should have kept it that way). Going to the club was amazing during the 2000s. I still love the fashion music and trends from back then!
@@ahchwathmarashana3277 oh how cool. You were a teenager during a great time. What were your favorite artist back then & who did you think was overhyped lol it’s ok I won’t judge.
@phillinsogood oh that's easy. I had Usher posters all over my wall. Still a huge usher fan to this day. One person I did not care for AT ALL Ja Rule! It made it really hard to like alot of Ashanti music lol
@@ahchwathmarashana3277 yea I remember as a kid Usher & Justin were the biggest male artist. And people tried to say Chris is better lol. Yea I agree JaRule isn’t a good artist at all
just turned 20 and i want to BE 20 in 2004
Welcome to your 20’s!!
What a time to be alive!
Right it was crazy
2004 is the first year of my life I actually remember.
Yess love that for you!! I started to remember a lot around that year as well
2004 is one of my favorite years in pop culture.
Started High School in 2004
I started 4th grade that year 😂😂. What was it like being a teenager that year
@@phillinsogood it was fun lol
Beautiful year, simpler times!
I agree friend

@@phillinsogood no problem anytime

Officially starting to feel old.
Ok first off love your profile pic. Yea time just be flying we are getting old I fear lol
9:08 The O.C. & One Tree Hill begin their second season
I was 1 in 2004 💀 but watched all the shows that came on cable tv until they didn’t sadly
Fun fact, my favourite Bratz doll I had growing up was a Yasmin that was new year eve themed for the year 2004! She had this iconic rhinestone top that said 2004 and honestly her clothes were so cute and Y2K 💜🩵 this year holds a special place in my heart
That’s funny. My sister was obsessed with Bratz so I definitely remember them lol.
2004 was a great year
Its wired how i remember these but was not born until 3yrs later😅
You got me wanting to rank my years of the 2000’s 06 my favorite year just because of music but I remember 04 vividly it was the first time I moved to Florida from Stl and usher was everywhere this year
Yesss 2006 was a great year for music. I remember watching 106 & Park on BET. Yea Usher dominated 2004 and honestly a good handful of the 00’s as he had a total of 7 #1 singles between 2000 - 2009.
I was only months old in 2004.
A newborn 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Bestest year ever
The news I remember was that Madrid train bombing, Beslan school massacre and of course the ultra deadly Boxing Day tsunami surround the Indian Ocean.
I was 9 and it was glorious
Ong mee too I turned 9 that year as well
@@phillinsogood 30 is just around the corner 🥶
You know, if it weren’t for nipplegate, we would never have gotten the GREATEST Super Bowl halftime show ever performed (Prince in 2007)
Ciara came out of nowhere and washed all our faves 😂
She really did 😂😂
She really did 😂😂
2004 WAS THE BEST YEAR EVER, PERIOD!!!
Well no I was kinda born a year later but I live to hear someone that lived it break it down ☺️
Yessss it was so fun I miss it.
I Was Born In 2006 Which Gave Us My Guilty Pleasure Movie X-Men The Last Stand
It’s so wierd to be sharing the internet with people born in 2005
@@tajsimms8976 lol you know what I’m not even offended because I understand. I literally see people talking about 2012 my birth year and im like 😲 lol
can you do this for the rest of 2000-2010
Hi there I plan on doing all of those years.
@@phillinsogoodnah do 2000-2019 because 2019 is the true finale
10:27 The Simple Life premiered in December of 2003, not spring of 2004.
True. The show started to take over the following year
I remember the 2004 Fen TV logo
I foundvthis video on Vbox7:Matsa(Az shte prosya) with the 2004 screenbug
Just a white cyrillic letter F on the top right(which reads Fen TV in cyrillic)
We was spoilt 2003 & 2004
I was born in 2004
Nice!! 😊
I made a video on movies in 2004 with AI voices of Sonic, Amy Rose, Shadow and the special guests Shrek and SpongeBob. Another 2000s video i did was a podcast on the entire 2000s decade but 2004 in particular was brought up similar to your video.
That’s so cool I feel like 2004 was the peak of the 00’s. 2001,2007 & 09 were also very busy years
2004 makes me think of Hilary Duff
Good memories. Simple times
Yes she was everywhere back then
So much stuff.I was shielded from thanks to my parents glad I was able to enjoy some of this stuff now
No way, 2001 was THE year. Atlantis the Lost Empire. Matel was at it's peak with barbie and the hotel/doll houses. Cartoon Network had amazing shows on. Man I miss that year.
Yes 2001 was a busy year with a lot of major pop culture moments. I plan on doing that year soon.
@@phillinsogood Sweet. Can't wait. 😊 😊😊
Also the world was blessed as I was born this year
Yay lol well happy birthday
Im not sure who the "Detroit pistols" are 😂🤣 1:28
🤦 oh my I thought I ate there lol your right it’s the pistons oh well
@@phillinsogood love the content, you're doing great ❤️ keep it up!

How cool!! You were a teen during a great time in pop culture
I was 5 years old
I turned 8 this year! We are not to far off in age!

Yay welcome to your 20’s. It’s gunna be an amazing year. Stay true to yourself & don’t compare yourself to others. God loves you!!
Yes 2004 was a wild time!
MEAN GIRLS!!
Aaaaw such a good year.
can you do 2002
Of Course!! I will get to that year
I wouldn't call Eternal Sunshine a rom-com.
2002 next plz
Yessss that year was stacked as well I will get to it I promise
You forgot about Taylor and kanye and you should do another one this one was good
Hey friend thanks for watching! I talked about the Taylor & Kanye situation in-depth in my 2009 video. 😊
But yes I plan on doing more of these like the whole 90’s & 00’s
In 2004
It’s…..it’s “peace up, A-town DOWN” my guy 😂
Yes I know 🫣😂 I didn’t realize that I said it backwards until after I posted it lol
I was 17
@@landshark121786 nice I turned 9 this year and I loved being a child around this time.
American Idiot!! What a seminal record, can’t believe I forgot that released in 2004 lol what a year
@@sethbane9861 yes it was released that year but the songs took over 2005
@@phillinsogood you’re right! the first song of theirs I remember hearing is Wake Me up When September Ends, and that wasn’t released as a radio single until 2005 lol
Wow I was 20… crazy.. btw it’s the Detroit Pistons NOT the pistols lol
I say the most interesting years are:
1997
1999
2004
2007
2016
2019
But my favourite year would be a race between 1999, 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2010
Yes those were all really big years for pop culture. Crazy to think life was somewhat normal in 2019 before the pandemic took over.
I’d say y2k ended in 2002-2003 instead of 04
I agree I feel like the 2000’s really started in 03/04
Hey thanks for the comment. Yes I know others have mentioned that I made a few mistakes.
I briefly mentioned Ashlee Simpson messing up 🙂
It's actually 2005 #AMERICANDRAGON was released
Oh Thanks for the clarification..... Oh well lol
