Lecture No 13-A: Action on Inquiry Officer's report (13 minutes)

The Disciplinary Authority is the final authority in disciplinary matters to decide the fate of the charged employee. It is, therefore, a serious responsibility on him to evaluate independently the report of the inquiry officer. Disciplinary authority is not bound by the Inquiry officer's report. This video(13-A) and the next video(13-B) explains the action that the Disciplinary Authority is required to take on receipt of the report and before passing the final order.

can new evidence be relied upon in the disagreement note by the disciplinary authority after completion of inquiry proceedings which was not adduced during io/po stage? the new evidence was never part and parcel of the charge sheet. you are requested to provide your valuable opinion citing rule and the supreme court order that whether the disciplinary authority can use new evidence after conclusion of io’s report.
