I get that same feeling of excitement from doing different expansion and penetration tests, man. I allow all of my boredom to be expressed through my air guns. There's never a dull moment for me if I have a variety of things to test and shoot. Shooting paper targets is only fun for so long for me, personally. I have to mix it up. Great shooting, by the way. You're a great shot, man!
good job... I'm old retired guy and love this stuff...My first BB gun was in 1967...I don't go out in the field anymore and have found air guns very exciting and fun once again !!! Enjoyed the video and great all around...I have a Crosman NP Vantage .22, Daisy Red Ryder and a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster...The H&N Terminators are the most accurate in my Vantage .22...I just ordered some Hornets, hope the gun has enough power for those??? PCP is next...Keep up the great work !!!
I live in South Florida where iguanas have been declared an epidemic and the big ones have very tough skin. I have a canal behind my house and most iguanas like the far shore which is 65 to 100 yards from my rest. There was a big male (about 4.5 feet long) sunning on the far side of the canal (about 70 yards away). My very first shot with my Gamo Whisper .177 and the hornets dropped him immediately straight in the head. I find these pellets extremely accurate and the penetration is excellent. My previous go to pellet was the H&N Baracuda but at over 40 yards I could often hear the pellets hit and bounce off of an iguana's skin and a head shot was a must, the hornet has no problem. I also found that the hornet drops less at distance than the baracuda even though they are similar weight.
Just got done shooting these hornets out of my .25 cal Aea Sf Sniper and I had a high of 1028 fps, and an average of 997. But naked speed! I believe it was a 22grain. Can you please do a review on the Aea SF 25 cal Sniper? There are no videos on this gun and caliber. Thank you Macabee! Great content!
Great Video. I too like the H&N Hornets in .25 cal. because of the penetration performance. Unfortunately, I find they loose accuracy at high velocities above 25 yards. The most accurate pointed pellet I have found so far, is the Predator Polymag 26 grain, but they are plastic tip. I contacted Predator about making the Metalmag in .25 cal. Predator stating they plans on coming out with a new .25 cal Metalmag and a short .25 Polymag pellet for magazines, sometime this summer! That would be a great pellet to add to your testing. Thanks again for the video.
I just got my first pcp Hatsan Flashpup in .25 and I think I am going to order some of these for my pest and small game hunting , Thanks for the great video .
I shoot 22.07 grain H&N hornet pellets from my Hatsan 135 QE vortex .25 caliber break barrel air rifle and I love the damage they do when exiting a plastic gallon water jug. I made a video of myself doing a penetration test with them from my rifle and posted it to my channel. I shot one of them from about 20 feet away at 3 back to back plastic gallon water jugs and it partially ripped the back of the first jug when exiting because they deposit so much energy within the first 5 inches of penetration. It poked a hole in the other side of the second jug but didn’t quite exit it. With the 29 or 30 foot pounds of energy my rifle is putting out at the muzzle if I was shooting a heavier 29 grain domed pellet it probably would have entered the third jug but it wouldn’t have deposited so much energy into the first jug and done as much damage to it as the hornet did. The domed pellets even when shot from a 5 foot pounds of energy less rifle like the Diana 350 magnum .22 I used to have tend to keep their energy slightly further and will actually exit the second water jug and poke but not pierce the third jug. So even though the domed pellet starts out with about 5 foot pounds of energy less it keeps it further and more consistently by not depositing so much within the first 5 inches. It’s like how the same 18.13 grain domed .22 pellets fired with about 5 less foot pounds of energy won’t exit an unopened thick plastic gallon Hawaiian Punch container even though they will penetrate slightly deeper in the thin plastic gallon water jugs but the hornet from my rifle will exit that punch container because it’s about 5 inches of liquid plus 2 layers of thick plastic and it deposits it’s greater energy within that 5 inches
The Hornet is my favorite pellet up to 50 yards. I notice a slight loss of accuracy after 50 yards. A slight increase in weight would solve this problem, imo. The tips seem to fall out of the Metal mag very easily (.22 Cal).
The Hornets are pricey...but you get what you're paying for...definitely not a plinking pellet at that price for most people....now load up your Blitz with these...lol 😁 I'm dying to see a full auto mag dump
That was an awesome test and Fricken amazing results. Would love to see what they would do fired from an Airforce Condor SS .25. Being that they are a powerhouse of a rifle. I own one. I fire 33.95 JSB match diabolo MKII pellets between 950 and 975 fps producing 70 + fpe depending on power wheel setting. It's a sledgehammer when turned up.
Good job, well done, a scientific mind at last. Crosman has this new pellet called the "Super Pellet" But people are finding that they can't get them loaded in the chamber. You know any thing about that?
I really wish they would make the Crossman powershot redflight in .25 cal! It's the best penetrator style pellet I've ever tested and it makes sense, it's literally a sabot penetrator round... I would just love to see what it could do in a .25cal pcp!
Not sure if you can find any but the best metal tip pellet that iv found is the H&N EXCITE PROMETHEUS, the hornet is a brilliant pellet and far easier to get hold of but the PROMETHEUS is a clear step up in penetrative power!!
Hello Super Airgun Man Macaspeed!!! Which semi auto rifle are you using and do you know if these hornets will work in the AEA HPSS??? THANKS FOR SHARING LOVE YOUR CONTENT BRO
Red Flight Non Lead Rounds are just a little better! I've been target shooting Airguns & Small Game hunting for over 40 years and do penetration tests on many different types of Airgun Ammo. The 22cal Red Flight Rounds are the best for penetration !!
I don’t want to go the slug route, do you think the hornets could take a coyote from a 32-40fpe pcp at 30 yards? If not do you think something like a Hatsan bt65 in .25 could do it with hornets?
I have been telling people about their h&n Hornet for a while how devastating they are and the 25 caliber slugs h& n grizzlies now they have all kinds of slugs
Grizzlies and hornets are my go to rounds in .25. Absolutely amazing devastation when hunting. I’d not want to ever be on the business end of those rounds.
I've been thinking about slugs, I need to find bullet for extreme home defense situation at 25.cal. Hatsan Blitz seems like a choice of gun. Need to have stopping power for human size not bunny size. And penetration of heavy clothing. Slugs seem to expand and make huge damage where it travels, but does it penetrate heavy winter coat? And these pellets, they seem like they penetrate better, some shoot through car dors with 177 calibers, maybe car door as a test would be a good idea?
Toumas, good question about slugs going through heavy clothing - I have a feeling they would have triuble going through. Thats why the HN hornets look good, it seems like they would have an easier time penetrating thick fur, etc I dont use my rifle for self def but its an interesting topic
@@macabespeed scope. i for some reason even if i goto middle adjustment on the clickers and start from there cant dial in. and even get a great grouping
just bought an air ordinance smg .22. 100 rounds full auto and bought a bunch of these pellets. lol. pretty sure it would be decent home defense if i wanted. i’ll be shooting small game with it though.
macabespeed haven’t got the pellets yet, but love the gun. dang thing that s crazy powerful for an air rifle. i’m going to test a few different types of pellets in it. i ordered the pellets on amazon
The flash will be a beast with them. I’m using a vectis with hornets and they’re highly accurate and extremely lethal on game. Been using them on groundhogs out to 45-50 yards and headshots only, and well, the damage is wicked and it drops them immediately on impact. Also the 177 and 22 hornets are just as wicked!

Big lizard, big scales! Glad the hornets punch through, I’d love to go for big lizard like that

How big are they? Are they good for self-defense? I wanna get the hatton jet two
Amazing pellet review..and the color check for pellet cans..what awsome time saving great simple fix.

Its nice pellet gun for begining
I want to see reactive depleted uranium pellets become available.

Predator metalmag - metal tipped
prometheus pellets - plastic pellet with a metal tip
Airgun Evolution I’ll grab some Prometheus! The metalmag is only in .22 and .177 tho. I actually emailed predator about this!

@@macabespeed yes it's a fun one. Having a problem with it at the moment. But still shoots.
@@macabespeed power wheel fixed. Another plus to the Airforce Condor SS is that they are super easy to work on and fix.
this can actually punch through some light armor?
.25 hornet is a beast. i run these in my modded jet 2 at 980 fps and my 1300 fps .22 . at 30 yrds in 25 these are lethal.

H&N Hornets.
What pcp rifle where you testing the h&n Hornets with?
Judging from the magazine, it's probably a Benjamin Marauder or perhaps and Armada

Those pellets will be Ok for walther CP88 or Gamo PT85 ?

Devastating in 25 cal Avenger. 1010 fps.

My Challenger is Hungry ... 😁
Love the hornet.22 its the most penetrative pellet ever

In Poland price is 6 cents/pcs ( 15 $ for 225 pcs )

Gamo rocket would be a decent vs comparison
Nice shooting bro
Give the h+n terminator a try cracking hunting round.
Good hunting pellet for sure...anyone who disagrees never compared the terminal path. Wish they made them in 25 cal
i CAN NOT figure out why my sights will not sight in... my buddys .177 does the same. please help?
Iron sights or scope?

When it says 24 grains, is that 24 grains of lead plus the brass tip, or 24 grains total? What's it actually weigh?
Total weight
How good is this in self defense
The thick skull pellets
who makes the green pellet trap?
just bought an air ordinance smg .22. 100 rounds full auto and bought a bunch of these pellets. lol. pretty sure it would be decent home defense if i wanted. i’ll be shooting small game with it though.

How did it compare to the Predator Poly Mags
so... if you did head out to the range with the wrong caliber tin, couldn’t you just go back inside the house and get the other tin?
Cool test. 👍
What rifle are you using?
Marauder!
shorter than polymags?
Gamo lethal think it's only. 177 but awesome shot

What is the range you are shooting your groups at?
About 15 yards👍
Para mí son los mejores balines que hay, me van muy bien, tanto en previsión como en penetración
Those skirts on the pellets look thin. That could affect trajectories through the lands and grooves
$1.93 a pellet u must be joking .😁 hellow from ireland.
$24.53 for 150 / .25 cal can or $0.163 per pellet on amazon as of 03 November 2019
I will shoot these pellets into the beavers ' heads.
Hellow from Russia.)))))
Will these work in a colt 1911 dark ops gas pistol which take 4.5mm pellets?
does it?
The 25 caliber h&n hornets are 5-8 dollars cheaper at pyramid air and if you buy 3 you get one free.
Lol I'm here cuz I thought I ordered .177 but got .25 on another brand lol.
Lol send em to mee I'll send you the .177 ones. I want .25 but have the. 177.
