That's because it is real at first, and then he uses visual effects to make it look like three of them are laying flat on the surface. Sometimes with Zach King, the "reveal" is actually the trick.

2:28 fun fact: if this doesn't work, you actually have better eyesight as far as the color part of things. if they fade away, your eyes can only focus on so many colors at once, and your brain slowly shows the illusion that the others aren't there unless you look at them again

@@galaxyasmr7268 your not getting it. When Zach reveals how it's done he shows that the cube is just sitting on the paper and the shadow makes it look like it's floating. If the cube is sitting on the paper than how did some of the pencil get covered when going under it?

@@Hello-ty3ws It wasn't there. he shows the tower from the side at the beginning, where it would be obvious. If it was always there, it would only work if the camera was perfectly still and only from a certain angle. Not to mention, the extra cube isn't even aligned that well with the others, so it would never be invisible even if everything else was set up correctly. 0:25 you can see some yellow peeking out from the cube behind it.
It's no secret they use vfx and editing to create a lot of their illusions.
edit: also at 0:21 the line on the right side of where the cube appears is a concave < shape. If there were a cube there, it could only be a convex > shape or a straight line |, otherwise we would be able to see the right face of the cube.

I call bs on it too, that warp disturbed me a lot XD Maybe that cube he made would work only if the camera was always at a 45° angle looking at the other cubes and if no shadows or reflections happened, but I don't feel like testing that, sounds like a pain, but here it clearly is edited.... Maybe it was made badly on purpose to distract us all video from other edited parts, who knows, if that's the case, it worked remarkably well, since I don't want to watch the video more times after replaying the warp part to check for other stuff XD

You gotta make sure you don't shift your eyes at all to make the cubes fade. Our eyes naturally make micro movements, even when we're trying not to move them, so it's hard. I got 2 cubes to fade =)
