In the post game interview, the host asked Pragg how did he play such an interesting game, and Pragg was like "I have the same question. Why do I keep getting these interesting games? I just want to play normal chess." And then Abasov admitted he was the one dragged the game into the "interesting" territory lol.
I really liked that you included the clip of the key moment of the game and also commented on the intricacies of it, I suggest you should do it more often. This really makes the video much more interesting.
Basically anyone with an engine nowadays can do a recap, but not everyone can have style doing it. That's what makes agad one of the most watched channel, he has a friendly, humble style that anyone can relate to. It's like he's your friend even though you never met him personally and makes everyone feel welcome. 🤝
Prag with Knight to D7 is a good move considering the time pressure but after looking at the board for a few minutes it really is the first candidate move I think many people would see. You can see in 2 seconds that it will dominate the dark square bishop and cannot be attacked by black's rook because of the fork threat. Really nice game!
With all 4 decisive games on the womens side, perhaps it's only fair that we feature at least 1 game after covering both on the mens side. #suggestion Tan Zhongyi vs Anna Muzychuk, featuring a well-played b4, followed by sac of said b4 pawn, followed by bishop sac, the other bishop sac, rook sac, and finally queen sac. Yup, seems like everything happening in one game is possible.
#suggestion Tan Zhongyi vs Anna Muzychuk, Women's Candidates round 6. There were multiple sacrifices and an only move for White on move 32 that most of the commentators got wrong until they checked the eval.
Good idea. There should be headquarters in Agad's room, with Medo barking on Naroditsky and Hess. Also, coverage would be interrupted by phone calls and postman.
Nightmare knight or knight from hell or killer steed or Pragg's knight from hell. Would've been such nice topics for the video. What a missed opportunity.🤣😂😂
But man what a game and a prep for Prag, well played. Beautiful positional play. :) Btw if Prag wins this, it is not like Ding is the strongest opponent ever, what a story would we have :D
Agad, small request, can you put a post it note on your camera you use to make the video, saying 'Explain final position to viewers, even if it's obvious to me.'
We're Pragg fans here. Always playing the most exciting fighting chess. His specialty seems to be finding creative ideas that are beautifully simply to explain once they are played yet so hard to spot before they land.
Three comments on the photo a) Chess is the only game where there is no prescribed code for dressing (seem psychedelic printed shirts) b) why do they still use note pads? c) why are clocks still monochrome?
fun fact, since I'm only playing online, and my only metric to improve is checking by the engine, I wouldn't have been impressed by Pawn d4 🤔 I would have accepted the challenge and let things decide if I succeed or fail. And then, if I failed winning, "ooh I was right, it was +1, I just blundered later" But ofc, this is candidates, so being careful is most valued ^^
#suggestion Praggnanandhaa vs Nepo Candidates '24 round 5, I am requesting it for the second time in a row, it's an exciting game right from the opening, please show this if you can.
Abasov has been playing very good chess for his level, sucks that he always crumbles in the final stages of the game but you can tell he really is here to play
i also wonder if he’s doing some underdog craziness on purpose - it’d be reasonable for nijat not to have high hopes of winning the tournament as last seed, but to be willing to play for an exciting game and go for some notable wins
@@nicktomato7 in his first round interview Abasov talked about his love for soccer and scoring goals and made the comparison saying he was just there to have fun and maybe score some goals, so I think it's a fair guess yeah
Why did black resign? Be3, a7 Bxa7 ends whites Promotion OR Be3, b5 Ke6 goes after the knight and is in time to stop the b pawn. Agad doesn't explain to us mere mortals and 1500s and below, but afaik Abisov threw away a draw by resigning too early. Can anyone clarify?
forgot the most important part, that if Be3 to stop the pawn then Nc5 and the knight is defended by the b4 pawn, the b4 pawn played once again a crucial part! #b4
I feel like they should either be forced to play things out, or chess develops a culture where, at least occasionally, when a player gets an obvious position, they play it to checkmate.
I used to primarily keep up with what’s happening on the chess world with Agadmator’s content and I loved them. But I started watching the live coverages and recaps from from Hikaru, and then only I understood how inaccurate Agadmator’s analysis were, and just how much he’s missing.

14:20 As always takes a sip of water after playing the winning move 😂😂 such a badass 😎
that staredown was lethal 💀
0:48 “Nijat’s Svidler is Mamedyarov” XD
1:56 “More people more weirdness” Agad dropping two golden nuggets of wisdom in two minutes.
thought someone else noticed that :D
blame it on Anastacia
(or anesthesia)
Peter and Mamedyarov are using Pragg and Abasov as their stands for their duel.
Is that a Jojo reference?
Even the candidates tournament is a jojo reference.
Thank God there are people who make Jojo references anywhere and anywhen possible.
Really liked that someone made actually good jojo reference
Wtf is jojo

Nd7 by Pragg was insane move, beautiful zugzwang created
Wasnt Rook b5 playable. I mean, not a solution but something to play.
@@indianfan1029 not a good move regardless

in the final position Bishop can control the a7,

Ah you answered my question, thank you Alexander
Thank you for explaining!
exactly. And that is only possible because of the pawn on b4 :)

"More people, more weirdness." Agad with the life truths.
LOL.
The 2 knights dominate the bishop pair in an open battle. That's something you don't see every day 😅
Also, Pragg is SCARY GOOD!
nice video insert towards the end!
congrats on the bub

Give MVP to that knight immediately 😅
Thanks for the analysis and also information about the app.
Thanks
Solid narration. Very helpful. Thx Agad
Why hasnt FIDE asked AGAD as an official commentator.
They have Gotham, why not agad😕😕
Good idea.

Being good at recaps doesn't mean you're good at commentary, different skillset.
With two children working trips become difficult.
“Hello, everyone.”
Need a much higher rating to commentate live. Able to spot and discuss nuances and quickly calculate many lines without an engine

Pragg's fantastic knight play in the endgame. Incredible stuff!
Amazing game. I don't think anyone could have predicted that Alireza would be sharing last place at the (nearly) half way point of the tournament.

"Praggnanandhaa's 2nd is Peter Svidler and Nijat's Svidler is Azerbaijan No.1 Shakhriyar Mamedyarov" - Agadmator '24 Fide Candidates
