Second thing IITs have time and again produced genius people u can't forget that Sundar pichai is from IIT kharagpur. The fees is affordable. And before saying it's all about mugging up to get into IIT only when u prepare for the exam and appear for it u realize that it literally tests every single aspect of urs that truely matters like discipline, consistency, patience, performance under pressure, presence of mind, critical thinking skills, etc. Yes u don't need to have an amazing personality or an eloquent english to get into IITs these superficial things don't matter. I know many people would deny it but the "good scores don't matter" is actually coming from those who don't wanna work hard what do u think the grades are a reflection of abd specially an exam like IIT can't be cracked by mugging things up
Heres the thing, looking at geniuses from universities isn't really a good thing to do, every university will have those. It sets unreal expectations for people. Also, exams and scores arent everything, I know some people who were not that bright in academics, but were extremely gifted in althetics, spoke multiple languages, had a lot of really good projects under their belt, and was also musically inclined as well. Those things would not show up in exam scores. It all comes down to what you want, what works best for you.
