Sant Dnyaneshwar is a 1940 Marathi devotional film starring Shahu Modak, Sumati Gupte and Bhagwat. It tells the story of 13th Century Marathi poet, sant, yogi and philopsher. Sant Dnyaneshwar was the child of a pious couple from Apegaon. From a young age, he was interested in religion and philosophy. His parents are excommunicated from their village for lying and years later, a farmer takes in the four children where Sant Dnyaneshwar translated the Bhagavd Gita into Marathi and performed miracles.
