- These typical Mauritian appetizers are prepared with a flaky pie crust dough as base, which is then stuffed with tuna & finally deep fried.

Ingredients:
2 Cups / 250 g All Purpose Flour
6 TBSP / 85 g Margarine (Unsalted) (Room temperature)
1 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Baking Powder (Optional)
Between 6 - 10 TBSP water (100 -150 ml)
For the Filling
1 Can Tuna Flakes
1 Small Red onion (Chopped)
2 TBSP Coriander (Chopped)
1/4 Cup Cheddar Cheese (Grated)
2 TBSP Sweet Corn Kernel
Salt and pepper to Taste
Oil (Deep Frying)

Hello 🤗 you can use butter also as it provides the flakiest crust but margarine is healthier since it is made from vegetable oils 😊 even though we are frying the pasties 🤭 Thanks for watching ❤
@@zestymu6331 thanks for the reply . Yes their nutritional profiles differ. While butter is high in saturated fat, margarine is rich in unsaturated fat and sometimes trans fat. But after all we are frying them , so it’s all good . I was curious as to the choose of margarine for this recipe . I almost never bought margarin lol now u made me buy some 😂
