- In Loving Memory of Ron Ownbey (1947-2017), David Floyd (1950-2020), Jim Monroe (1950-2021) and John Alexander (1948-2017). We will miss you all.
This CLASSIC MOTOWN HIT (Junior Walker & The All Stars) from 1965 was performed at a live band reunion show that featured several popular reunited area bands from the 1960s & '70s; a number of musicians had not performed onstage together in over 40 years. Eddie Blair (vocal & tenor sax) went on to become one of the members of the Nantucket band; the group remains popular and continues to perform at various venues in the Southeast. After completing studies at the University of Miami, John Alexander (alto & tenor sax) became a significant jazz music influence to the Charlotte, NC community where he remained actively involved with instructing, performing and composing. This special program late/unplanned song addition was introduced by Ron Ownbey.
