- A short compilation of 51 Australian peacock spiders. Thanks to Universal Music for allowing me to use the Bee Gees track. I often thought it is the perfect tune for letting peacock spiders dance to, and I am glad I finally got around to combining the two.

I love how well this song fits. The males are literally trying to stay alive, they dance to persuade the female to mate with them, if she doesn’t like it she’ll eat them, and even after they do mate he’ll have to run away fast before she decides to eat him anyway.

Actually, this song is spot on for the male. He is literally dancing for his life. And even if he manages to wow the female enough to mate her, his party night might end grimly.

I've never heard of these spiders before. They are really cool!
There are over 6000 species of jumping spider. Not one is venomous to humans, according to WATOP. They have the best intelligence and eyesight among arachnids. My favorite is the Portia. It's the most intelligent, capable of having ideas, learning, and planning. It eats other spiders for a living.

@@tavlingapa I used to have extreme arachnophobia, but it's gotten better over the years. Especially when I got to hold a Chilean Rose-haired tarantula in my hand. I wasn't afraid at all! I did look up the Hyllus Diardi and what a cute little spider!

In my Seattle garden I spotted a spider I had never seen before. White, with bright raspberry markings. The weird thing is, I looked it up and it was identified as being found in England! Well, our weather is similar. It was beautiful, but not so entertaining as the peacock.
Even as an Arachnaphobic, I think these guys are freaking adorable 😍

I have to admit I had never heard of this beautiful spider. Lately I've been looking at various insects trying to find out what was eating an ornamental sweet potatoe plant. I have been amazed sy the beauty that we never see unless we stumble upon a reason to look. The Tortoise Beetle is the culprit and id one of the most beautifully colored beetles on the planet. Now I see this Peacock Spider and again marvel at what's among us. Thank you for this video and I look forward to many more.
