Love SPQR. After looking through the rulebook for 10minutes I went straight to ordering the clash of heroes box. Can't wait to try it out.

Thanks for uploading these videos on SPQR, I really enjoyed them. I was wondering how much customisation there is with regards to unit equipment? For example, can I use caesarian legionnaires with pectoral armour rather than chainmail (with a penalty to saves, but cheaper minions for instance)?

The armor for the legionnaires in the rulebook is pretty standard, the customisation costs come from tweaking the units with the upgrades, adding for example:
•Purchase Pila for 3 Denarii each
•Purchase Slings for 3 Denarii each
•One model in each unit may purchase a Horn for 10 Denarii
•One model in each unit may purchase a Standard for 25 Denarii
I don't believe there are the options for Romans at least, to be less armored, but gauls/celts can downgrade and be naked, gaining more savage bonuses in exchange

Funny thing is that the rules allow for some deviations in gear. So if you want the "leader" of your caesarian legionnaire squad of 10 to be visually different, it shouldn't be a problem.

The likelihood of a legionary in Caesar's times having a pectorale would be pretty low as reforms about a year earlier provided even the poorest with a mail shirt. Thus the option isn't in the book.
For Polybian Romans, who sadly are not in the book, it was definitely more common.

    Pretty good game.
A bit odd you can field scorpions and elephants in a skirmish level game.
I do like the campaign aspect though.

That resin doesn't clean up with a knife well at all. I just kind of bounces. I am really surprised how hard it is. Luckily I don't mind a bit of flashing as painting table ready standard. But for seriousl modeller? Beware. My box set also came with a scuffed up book and bent Gallic swords where the plastic went white. Also! There are issues and mistakes in the rules. BIG ONES. Still worth £40 if you don't mind all that and love the concept but if you are perfectionistitic about models and rules then no way.

Hey Jekazol - Did you buy from us?
Get in touch via facebook / the store email and we will rectify the issues you had as best we can!
The resin is quite soft, but a sharp craft knife worked well for us rather than the usual mould-line remover scraper! (Rich)

Funny how you pick the sides that you each bear physical resemblances to, lol.
