Thank you for taking us into your van. Very informative. Love the velcro idea for the remote controls. Also a fan of the kids boxes they got to select the contents of... great idea!
Hello from the UK. Thank you for the tour of your caravan very impressed how you have thought of everything, especially for the boys. Going to begin the tour with you now.
Thanks for sharing. Just a nosey question though...How do you stack items in your pantry so that you can get to them without having to pull a bunch of stuff out? Do you use baskets in there too?
Hi Emily - we will do a separate video for the pantry. Right now we have Sistema Containers that fit in there, and it is a juggle to bring out what you need depending on position in the pantry. We have considered baskets and slideouts. Right now how we have it is working fine ater a month, but we are looking to upgrade and will certainly share! Thanks for the comment and question! :)
The kids love the Google mini, especially when learning to spell new words! We had a modem in the van connected to Telstra, it worked well but obviously no good when there's no signal. It also used a bit of power when off grid. Still good to have though.
Hi guys, great video (very informative). We are in the process of upgrading from our 2015 Expanda Outback 18.52-2 to the Journey Outback 22.68-1 with triple bunks. We are a family of 6 so a larger fridge is a must as we do allot of remote free camping. Did you order this fridge directly from the build stage from Jayco? The Jayco dealer in WA has advised its not an option. The same question in regards to the all season vents. Thanks in advance.
HI Andrew, Yes, both the fridge and all season vents were an option, installed in the factory during construction. The large fridge is awesome, but sucks a lot of battery. Our advise, get as much solar and amp hours as possible, we have since added more to run the fridge off grid.
@@todoingfamily Thanks for the prompt response. Yes we have optioned the caravan with x3 160W solar panels and x3 100Ah batteries with an additional anderson plug for a portable ground mounted panel. We have also requested Jayco fit the BM Pro J35D battery management system as it can accomodate Lithium batteries is we go down that path later or win lotto since their approx $1800.00 each. ;). What sort of power arrangement are you guys running now? And do you need to run the Generator from time to time as the solar isn't sufficient to recharge the battery bank back to full capacity?
We have currently been off grid for nearly 4 weeks. Keep in mind we have blue skies and sun up here in NT! We have 3 x 100ah and 2 x 160w on the van. We run Redarc 190W solar blanket as a backup/top up. If we were to go from scratch would add 1 to 2 more panels to the roof, plus a dcdc charger to the van to charge the batteries faster when driving. Hope that helps! 👍
Hey Julie, the fridge is great for size. Perfect. The down side is power usage. It uses A LOT. We have two extra Redarc panels we plug into when only just overcast, anything worse and we are playing catchup. Just today we added an additional battery to help us cope. In saying that, we have been in low cost camps with no power for 1 week now, just needing to run the car a couple of times to charge us up. If you can, go 3 x battery and 3 x solar and should be sweet. Gas can be a problem when hot weather hits, and it does, often! Hope that helps.
@@todoingfamily thank you so much for getting back to me. We have just ordered our 2019 Journey Outback 22.68.1 and have gone for 320w solar and 200ah battery. Thinking that wouldn't be enough for the compressor fridge so will most likely go with the 3way. Thanks again. Safe travels.
THANK YOU MAMA!!! Just what I needed!!!!

Great tour of your van , where did you find the blue holders for your charging station
Is that the model where, if the washing machine goes faulty they have to remove the entire wall?

Hi we were admiring your map of Australia and was wondering where you may have got it from thanks
This was an eBay job, decal designs. 👍

Hi. Are the power points on the bunks bed a standard feature or they come as optional?

What model is the Dometic AC? - great review!
It's the Air Command Ibis 3 with soft start. Been quite effective!

Hi, how do you find the build quality? I have seen some Jayco reviews where the build quality is rubbish. Thanks
I have heard so many terrible experiences with Jayco that I'm really unsure whether to buy one

I'd be afraid of the child in top bunk falling if they needed toilet & was half asleep.
This one time, at band camp!
Inflections are too annoying!
