- It was a night to remember for Yasemin Can on the first evening session at the European Athletics Championships 2022 in Munich.
Hot off her recent gold at the Commonwealth Games, Eilish McColgan and defending champion Lonah Salpeter came second and third respectively, but Can won in a time of 30:32.57.
Can, who finished fifth in Berlin, broke away late in the race to reclaim the 10,000m title she won in 2016.
You can watch the race again in full and enjoy all the action, as Turkey won gold.

So than People from Africa are recruited who have absolutely nothing to do with Turkey and never set a foot there before. Then they get a türkish Name. I know recruited athletes can compete, it can be argued it would defeat the porpuse of saying the "country" won if everybody recruits from eachother for competitions. @@297Reprezent In Yasemin Can's case, I can say there are no athletic records prior her getting the Turkish citizenship. So technically she became turkish and started running which in my opinion means "the country won" :)
