    When using the shears or shaving the rug, does this only work with cut pile rugs?

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, yeah, you can shave it but it will cut the loops! Kind of defeats the purpose and look of a loop pile

    Hi, i just wanna ask where did you bought that big sized yarns? I just started my small tufting business.

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Jumbo skeins from red heart.

  • @mandohondo
    @mandohondo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have a question please help me figure it out 🥲🙌 I realize that when you tufting the yarn comes out thick and long, mine come out kind of short but it still looks ok but I want it to make it like yours, is there an adjustment I’m not figuring out that makes the yarn come out longer

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really, I don’t suggest messing with the pile hight setting because there’s a few places you have to change things and if you don’t do one right, it could mess up the whole machine. I intentionally add yarn to areas to make them thicker

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are correct! Loop pile is more about pushing the yarn around and into place than actually carving

    What level do you put your sheep shears on

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine doesn’t have a “level” and I never go deep into the rug, just lightly graze the top to level out

  • @Shmoot4

    I’m on my second rug so far. I’ve stopped working on my second rug to ask this question bc idk what to do…everything is fine the first half of my rugs, but about half way through the yarn starts falling out the fabric and creating holes in the fabric. I look up the problem and everyone says the fabric isn’t tight enough but I know that’s not the problem bc I have re tightened as much as the fabric will stretch. Any help will be much appreciated!

    • @Shmoot4
      @Shmoot4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And yes I’m making sure that the head of the gun is staying submerged into the fabric. Like I said, everything goes so smooth while I tuft until about half way through

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like there’s too much tension on your yarn. The tension will actually cause the machine to cut your yarn early or get pulled back through the cloth. While you may be starting out with the yarn loose, you have to ensure it is always loose as you work. Check out the video about preventing the yarn from falling out of your gun. The same concept may fix your issue

    • @justruginit
      @justruginit  ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes practice. We had a hard time as well, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. Just remember while your tufting that you will be carving too, so if you have a small detail, you may need to add more yarn in certain spots to make the trimming easier.
