    You should try Oktoberfest Zinzinnati again. For 2024 it moved directly to the riverfront and it was a huge hit!

    Your video reminded us of our time living in Germany and attending the many festivals. Great memories. We will have to make a trip to Cincy until we can get back to Germany. Safe travels

      Thanks guys! My dad was stationed in Heidelberg and I consider myself very luck to have gone to high school there and attend many festivals. We still consider the Fest at Ft. Belvoir to be one of the most authentic in the U.S.

    Super cute outfits! You guys were only about an hour from me :-). I’ pave never been a fan of Cincinnati style chili, but people around here love it. Thanks for another great video!

      Thanks for watching! We loved the Cincinnati Chili. We actually made it from scratch a few weeks later and it was delicious.

    My husband is German and no one in Germany eats the mettwursts raw that we know of. Eww!
    I was born & raised in Cincinnati, the only Cincinnati chili you should use is Skyline Chili, anything else is yuk….and watery!! Also a 3-way is just cheese with spaghetti, 4-way is with cheese, beans OR onions and a 5-way is with cheese, beans AND onions, oyster crackers & hot sauce optional (I never liked the hot sauce). I still buy my Skyline Chili at Kroger’s, canned isn’t as good, but it fill my cravings. 😂
    Fun video, could have more of Oktoberfest, been years since I’ve attended it. Thank you

      Thanks for watchin and sorry for the delay. I got my terms mixed up. What I thought was going to be served was traditional mett. Mettwurst is something different.

      Absolutely not... Local Chili parlors put Skyline to shame. J&J, Price Hill, Empress, Blue Ash - all are MUCH better than Skyline, which is by far the most watery! Though there is big variation between Skyline locations in their wateriness. Locals have their favorite Skyline locations, and they don't stray from them much. I prefer Gold Star - better spices and more consistent.

    We really enjoyed the video. Never knew about the Cincinnati Octoberfest! The campground looked great! So fun making the chili - we need to find a le creuset that will fit in the AS oven!

      Thanks so much for watching! We always love finding the city and county campgrounds as they are such gems. The chili really was great and we certainly recommend trying some next time you're near Cincinnati...

    I love Cindy’s cooking, never tried Cincinnati chili. Looks delicious, and easy to make while on the road. You both looked great in your real German clothing. 😊 Just wanted to say Thank You for the envelope I received yesterday. ❤❤❤ keep on Luv Subbin.

      Thanks so much for watching as always. We're glad you got our envelope. We redid the Cincinnati Chili from scratch a few days ago and it was still delicious.

      Love watching you cook in your Airstream. The sourdough bread looks delicious! 👌

    If you had the "Airstream Lift", then you wouldn't had to worry about backing into the site with the slight rut. This reminds me of Oktoberfest in New Braunfels Tx.

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Even with a lift, we'd still be back there. It's how we roll. But notice by taking it at an angle that the ditch was not a factor.

    Carrie Sue loved the outfits! We tried the four way and I can tell you that I am not a fan at all. Glad I tried it, but once was enough. Great site! Safe travels!

      Thanks Cotton Tales! Yes, the Cincinnati Chili may not be for all. We do appreciate the comment on our outfits. They are not easy to travel with in the Airstream...

    When I moved to Ohio 10 years ago, everybody always raved about Skyline chili (that's what it's called here) but I couldn't stand even the thought of it. But one day I was convinced to try it, and I enjoyed it very much. Not so much that I have it all the time, mind you, but I do have it now and again, and it's quite good. Now, the people from Cincinnati think it's something handed down from the gods. I'm not sure I'd go quite that far. 😂

    • @LuvSubbin

      Thanks for watching! We loved it. Maybe not handed down from the gods but it was an example of fun, regional cuisine.

    I've never figured out the hubub about Cincinnati chili. I found it to be like a basic Italian gravy. Maybe it's like preferring Kraft Mac n Cheese to the real stuff? Seems like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing! p.s. The sourdough looked amazing!!

    The largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich is in Kitchener Ontario

      Thanks for watching! We made sure our thumbnail said "Largest in U.S.A." so that we weren't click-baiting. I may have said the largest outside of Munich in passing but hoped most would miss that. Good ears on your part!

    Loved the video but like others, have tried Cincy chili (4 way) and once was enough … 😅 and Great Lakes is delicious! Travel safe!

    • @LuvSubbin
      @LuvSubbin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! We can agree that the Cincinnati Chili is a taste some like and some don't. But who doesn't love Great Lakes beer? The Edmond Fitzgerald Porter and their Christmas Ale are the world class leaders in their category (in our opinion).

      @@LuvSubbin we will definitely try the Porter next time we’re near Cleveland! Plan to take our Airstream that way to moochdock at a friends cabin in Newcomerstown. Thanks too for all the incredible tips and content! Y’all are great!!
