    Wish you would have shown the wiring. Great info. Thank you.

    Would’ve been nice if you would have shown how it was actually intended to be installed. Not how you want to rig it onto the hitch in the wrong spot.

    Doesn’t explain wire hook up though

    Can you show how to run the wire ?

  • @frankconnors6831
    @frankconnors6831 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    How is it plug-and-play. If he welds it to the trailer hitch you would have to unwire it every time you change trailer hitches? Not to mention the lights would be useless with other trailer hitches because the lights would be gone. Doesn't make any sense.

    • @thomashowe7547
      @thomashowe7547 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He doesn't have to weld it at all. The Allen bolt clamp design would work fine. And it would not need removal each time you swapped ball sizes. Since it is a receiver all that needs to be done is unpinned the male side of the receiver ball pull it out and replace with with the other size ball and rep in. The thing I don't like is that the lights stand out so far away from the back bumper. When a high ball is not in place, it looks like the LED lights would be a frequent shin buster.

      That's probably aluminum while the truck hitch is steel. Can't weld 😂😂

    Humblely I have the patent pending on reciever mounted trailer plug powered reverse light. I make 11 different models and 37 different options. I make them compatible with towing a trailer but still insert the reciever. This is play. Zero wiring. We are based out of Aitkin Co MN

    Will this actually fit on a 2 inch draw bar or can it only clamp the truck side?

    Love th light bracket idea BUT too much talk. Still gave a thumbs-up but too much jabber. Why not show how the average truck owner will install this mounting kit?

    It’s a good idea if you don’t pull trailers. Otherwise you going to knock those light off.

    If this were to be installed, the wiring would have been completed

  • @thundercell13
    @thundercell13 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great until he has to swap the hitch and remove the wire connection, other videos show these have to wire into the existing reverse lights line so not an easy unclip and remove kinda set up

    I suspect it doesn't fit on most trucks (mine and the one shown on the video.) If you happen to have a welder laying around, and want to permanently attach something to a removal component, I guess this is one solution. Makes no sense what so ever to me to do it that way. Why would you attach it to the part you have to change out to pull different trailers? Illogical at best. The device looks great, it is well built and a great concept, unfortunately, for many trucks with actual tow hitches, it isn't going to work.

    Video doesn't show the part that actually matters: the wiring. Screwing some nuts onto bolts? Yeah, we can figure that part out.

    "niche" Inigo Montoya: "You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means." I really don't think you know what that word means.
    niche - a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service.
    This product doesn't have to be used on just trucks. Anything that has a receiver type hitch can use it. And that is a VAST segment of vehicles and their owners.
    P.S. your links are broken.

    1. Should have been ONE PIECE design with LED built into it so to "help" keep it from being stolen, not a clamp on design that we all know the allen screws will be rusted away in a year.
    2. Need to be made so a small amount of light also shines on the ball so backup camera can see ball.
    3. Fixtures will be destroyed on a tight turn with trailer attached especially when a safety chain snags on it..
    4. LED fixtures will be stolen in 5 minutes as soon as you launch the boat.
    5. The LED's need to be made into a one piece frame that attaches around the draw bar.
    6. Just too simple of a design to remove and steal at a boat launch.
